RTCW is a World War 2 game. It has 2 seperate modes of gameplay. single player or multi player. single player explores the world of an agent who goes to infiltrate nazi experiments with the dead and mutants. what i really like is RTCW's award winning multiplayer. it is realistic meaning NO ZOMBIES OR MONSTERS. They have realistic maps like the beach invasion and village destruction. This is a Really good gameand , I recommend you get this game over medal of honor.

This game is probably the best First Person Shooter (FPS) game I have ever played. The Singleplayer mode is pretty good. It will teach you about all the different weapons and train you to work the keyboard and mouse to get around. The weapons choice is realistic, handgun, machine guns, flame throwers, hand gernades, etc., except there are couple new weapons that you need to possess to kill the real powerful monsters in the singleplayer mode, like the venom gun. The levels have either Nazis to kill or some fantasy creatures and zombies. I don't really prefer having to kill fantasy creatures but I guess they balance it well with the super weaponry you use to kill them. After you train yourself and get thru all levels of the singleplayer, you'll be ready for multiplayer mode. The best part of this game is, afterall, the Multiplayer mode. In Multiplayer, you get to play with other virtual people like you on the internet playing the same game. You can choose to be a soldier, engineer, medic or lieutenant. Each has different weapons and abilities. Like, when you get sick of killing, you can choose to be a Medic and revive fallen teammates. No zombies in multiplayer, just killing other players. All in all excellent game play. Not too buggy, no real glitches. Of course, for multiplayer, a fast internet connection is recommended. Buy it you won't regret it.

Were you expecting "History on Film" with Ann Medina?

Well, where to begin? This game was overwhelmingly satisfying in every way imagineable. My friend showed me it earlier this year, and it still hasn't lost any of its edge!

I loved the overall story with the Himler and the SS, HeinrichI, undead, etc. I've always been a sucker for the whole Nazi/occult thing, and this was no exception.

The music was also top-notch. I've caught myself absently humming it during the day, and stop abruptly since everyone is staring at me. The catacomb score was downright eerie, perfect for that particuar gameplay. The piece from the opening cutscene was so good I restarted the game several times just to hear it!

I thought the variation in levels was pretty good, my favourites being the Castle and the village levels. The assortment of bad guyswas decent, too. Overhearing the horrified officers(you know the ones), the angry mechanics, (them, too), and all the others was both interesting and amusing. Severalpeople have been complaining in these reviews about how the levels are kind of dark, but that's to be expected. It's wartime Europe, people, not a commercial for Lemon Tide!

The choices of weapons were varied- something for everyone!TIP:Ignore the flamethrower, it's prety much useless. I preferred the Thompson and double .45s(sigh) but it was a shame that they came with limited ammo. Oh, well.

I wanted to really say something clearly to all the people I've read who claim this has nothing to do with WWII and the zombie thing is overdone:
For the love of God, open your eyes! This is a COMPUTER GAME, not fact! F-I-C-T-I-O_N! What did you think was going to happen, you'd singlehandedly win the Battle of the Bulge?! Meet Hitler?! Try to kill him?! NO! This is a game, manufactured for the purpose to entertain for a price. And so what if Nazis once again intermingle with the supernatural? It works. It's entertaining. Period.

People have also been whining about the toughness of the game. I admit that I can't beat it on "Bring 'em on", but at least I didn't have to use cheat codes for "Don't Hurt Me". I managed to beat RTCW in a little under a week, and people (who are clearly exaggerating) claim to be still stuck on Level 2. Two. Ten second of life? Please, stop embarrassing yourself. Or just stop lying.

I think I've said my bit on Return to Castle Wolfenstein. In my humble opinion, I say buy it, play it, and play it again.

This game was actually very good. The envirvoment is very dark, and gives you the feeling of a Nazi-controlled place. The music is also very good done, scary in the "occult"-events, and action-thriller-like when you're in action. The only fault, or problem, or whatever you would call it, is the undead. They just, well, don't fit. In every game/movie about Nazis fingering with "mysteries", there is always undead and the devil, and that kind of stuff. The story really needs to be reworked a little bit, because you already know what's going to happen, what the Nazis are hiding, and who you are going to fight against. It is a really good, maybe short, action game, but the story really needs work, because I think the story/plot of the game is really an important thing, if you are going to create a single player episode.

Online Multiplayer is what this game is all about!!

Although the single player aspect of this game is enjoyable and challenging, the real reason to purchase this game is for the multiplayer community. I have been playing this game competitively in an online gaming clan, and have played in leaugues for CAL, TWL, OGL and STA. This game is THE BEST multiplayer competitive game on the market right now. The key reasons for this are the teamplay aspects of this game. You can not go solo and try to kill everyone, and expect to win the round. You need to play as a team and work together to win. That's what makes this game so great. Its not about having this one Ace shooter on your team, its about having a solid team. Get this game, join up online, and start enjoying the fragging in this WWII genre FPS!

It has a little more.

It is true that it is not a necessity for previous owners, but it will have a new map pack that has not been released before. The maps were made by Nerve and Splash Damage. If you want to see screens shots, some are available on planetwolfenstein.com.

Too much hype

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is set in Nazi Germany, capitalyzing on its predecessor that made 3D shooters popular. While playing, however, you will notice that besides Nazis there are no other commonalities between the two.

While the single-player game offers some diversity in environments, there are too few missions. ID software did not put as much time into this project as Quake, Quake II, or Alice. The very noticeable differences: very few graphical effects, poor soundtrack, the AI is not intelligent, and the range of enemies limited - only about 7 types encountered

That's it I am sick and tired of people shouting and yelling at this game. Everywhere I turn I hear people saying that this is not a very good WWII game because of the zombie and X-Creature aspect. I hate to be the one to tell all of you this; but they were not trying to make a WWII game. They were trying to recreate the original Wolf3D into a modern day game. And as far as I am concerned they did a pretty good job with it.
I personally would be appaled if they tried to redo Wolfenstein without the zombies and creatures, the infamous Dr. Schabs created in the original.
So peope please read this and understand they were not trying to make another Medal of Honor, they were trying to bring back a[n]...old school FPS.

Good, but nauseaous(really,-_-) gameplay.

If you bought any game and read their maunals and flip the first page or the last page(that part usually contains the "non-fun-game stuff")you might find warning messages about that some people might feel dizzy or even get unconsciousness when playing games and stuff.
And why I mentioned this is that that this game might put some waring message on the box that this game whether you're not weak to games you might really feel dizzy after playing for few ten minutes(joke).
ok I said some kind of joke to make it funny but it's not a lie.
I really feel dizzy about playing ten minutes and it really doesn't seem that much of "personal problem" because I played UT, Medal,CS and more kinds of FPS but didn't feel any dizziness when playing those.
So I think I'll show why I think this game has high nausea rating(at least, high for me).

1.Too fast movements(espacilly camera view)
2.Castle style textures like gray, harsh and blurry looking textures
3.Bit outdated graphics
So 1+2+3= (I can't play it anymore(too dizzy for me).)
Summary: If you are thinking about buying this game make sure you try before you buy to figure out that you're surely immune to the nauseaous graphics.

Wolfenstein is THE best multiplayer game EVER. The single player is challenging too (provided you don't cheat). ... It's best if you listen to Rammstein while you play.
