This game is terrrible. For online mode there is NO voice chat, NO keyboard use, the controls are horrible, slow loading times, no storyline, and the same old graphics from older versions. With no voice chat how are online players supposed to even make thier own plans? I have had a hard time already with this.
Also in online play you have to use R3 button to say default phrases for each character. When you turn into a zombie you could barely even touch your former friend to eat him due to bugs, and glitches. There are not enough weapons for each character so you are left trying to fight hand to hand combat with zombies which is virtually impossible because you can only kick them or shove them with your body, and then they'll bite you again. This game was a rip off, and all Capcom did was change the packaging and the title of the crappy Japanese version and put it out in the U.S.

For those that love flesh tearing gore and the sounds of bullet shells hitting the ground, this game is a work of art. Using the Resident Evil franchise Capcom has been able to unite zombie lovers everywhere. For those that enjoy RE this game is not so much the same as what one may be used to. The real life thought that not everyone in a video game should be able to do everything, but instead should be like real humans and have certain skills is an incredible idea finally put into action. This game's online play is great. Now I'm not saying that life long friendships are being formed, but when I get a message once in a while that says there are so many people playing this game at the time that i may have to wait a little bit I feel a little warm and fuzzy inside because I now truly know that there are survival horror, zombie loving, terror seeking gamers out there. Those that dislike the game are intelligence lacking walking dead waiting to have themselves plastered on a wall by my shotgun that is truth, and the truth is those that dislike the game are afraid or unable to play well with others. This game is like my review, having very few, small, almost unnoticeable flaws. Your Welcome.

Ok I might not be the biggest re fan out there but i do have the need for some fantastic gaming experiences. First off on a good note it is a beautiful game with realistic cut scenes and great effects, But the downsides pull the whole game down. There are no storylines no explainations nor much backgrounds on the character at all. Then they kill re2's adventure into the umbrella corps labs. When you start each senario they give you no reason why your there, or why you are with your AI (Which they hardly do anything at all!). The senario's are boring and dull as you run around trying to find way to excape from whereever you are. I bet most of you people out there will be beating up on my review but just remember this capcom is falling and there taking resident evil with it!

Well my title says it all. The cut aways are too long and extremely boring. The controls are harder than Chinese algebra. All-in-all stay away from this one.

Although "Resident Evil: OUTBREAK" does not feature the usual cast of characters we have grown to know and love {or hate), the latest edition to the "Resident Evil" brand of survival horror gaming for PS2 is packed full of enough thrills, chills, and scares to keep the die hard fans frightfully happy. The new characters are all very likeable (with the exception of Alyssa Ashcroft who really got on my nerves) and boast their own unique abilities so you'll be sure to find one character you may identify with. What makes this "Resident Evil" so extremely different from past versions is the fact it is the first ONLINE conception of the franchise thus allowing gamers the ability to meet up online and work together as a team in their endeavor to escape the rotting masses and mutated monsters of Raccoon City.
Even though the shock and scare factor of something popping out and paralyzing you with fear seems to not be present, "Outbreak" delivers everything you'd want from a "Resident Evil" game and puts you right in the middle of a zombie nightmare.

While I have played this game one on one, I have not played the game on-line. This may explain the difference between my one star rating and the multitude of five star ratings for this product.
As a one person game, Resident Evil Outbreak does not live up to its predecessors. Gone is any semblance of a plot. This is unfortunate since most of the charm of the prior incarnations of this game came from the storyline.
Gone also are intuitive controls. Here you have to load each bullet into your gun. Haven't any of these people ever heard of clips. And most frustrating is the snail pace with which the characters accomplish every task. Unless you are running which is immpossible to maintain if you are trying to accomplish anything else, you move at the rate of 1 mile an hour.
At some point I feel that a franchise such as the Resident Evil franchise simply puts out products because they know people will buy them based on name recognition. I believe this is the case here. Resident Evil: Code Name Veronica was the last decent game made along this line (I do not own a Nintendo system). Save your money for a game worthy of the $50 price tag. This game is a rental at best.

I love the Resident Evil series but this game just made me angry. More specifically, I'm angry at Capcom for developing "RE:Outbreak" with the intention of making it a game you have to play online to get the most out of it. I don't want to play a video game online and to make the offline aspects of this one so annoying makes "RE:Outbreak" a real letdown. The worst part was having those other characters constantly following you and babbling nonsense to you that makes little sense (saying one thing while another thing is written onscreen). It would've been nice to have the option to turn off the onscreen dialogue or better yet, play the game with just one person onscreen (the character you're playing)instead of having this posse of people who really don't help you getting in your way when you're trying to do something (like picking up an item only to have someone else take it and run off). Let's not even get started on the ultra-slow loading times.
I will give Capcom credit for making "RE:Outbreak" a beautiful looking game but that's about it. If Capcom wants to convince me to buy any more Resident Evil games, they'll have make them more user-friendly and not cater them almost exclusively to online users. If nothing else, make a PC version of Resident Evil for online play and the console version for offline users like me.
