Way better than survivor

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 10 / 17

This game, compared to survivor, does not totally...[stink]. It has good graphics. easy to use controls. And it will have you hooked on it for a while. So if your a resident evil or houe of the dead fan, then do yourself a favor and buy this game. But if you despise both series, then stay far far away.

Another Great Resident Evil Game!

This game is going to be very good. I have seen tons of screan shots, and I have seen some videos of it being played. You will beable to walk around in 3rd person view, but when you go into combat, you go into 1st person view. The Blood and gore in this game is great! I also like the way the zombies and creatures looked. They even had Zombie sailors. You are on a big ship, and you have to regain control over it. This is a whole new story line. I am going to get this game, and If you are a Resident Evil fan, you should too.

WHAT A GAME!!

this game is amazing. i love this game. i have never played survivor so i cannot compare them. but i will explain about this. the game is all in 3rd person. but lets say u see a zombie, u can press the trigger on ur gun to enter "shoot" mode. this allows u to actually attack the zombies and creatures.IT DOES NOT CHANGE VIEWS AUTOMATICALLY. IT IS MANUALLY, SO U CAN RUN PAST THEM IF U WANT. IT ALSO ALLOWS U TO WALK FOWARD WHILE U ARE IN "SHOOT" MODE. THE THING I LIKE A BUNCH ABOUT THIS GAME IS THAT THE PUZZLES ARE EASIER. the 1st resident evil was good but u had to have a guide to beat it. in this i am able to beat it without a guide. im not saying the game is easy, im saying it is fun because u do not have to worry about have a key with an embleme shape in a room where the pictures need to be rearanged in an order. no none of that. i recomend this game if u love horror games with between moderate-lots of action, and love a cool adventure. THE ONLY DOWNFALL ON THIS GAME ARE THE MODEL GRAPHICS. THEY REALLY [are bad]. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS GOOD. THE BOAT GRAPHCIC(THE GAME IS BASED ON A BOAT), THE LIGHTING IS AMAZING, THE WATER IS WELL DONE BUT THE MODEL GRAPHICS ON THE 2 MAIN CHARACTERS ARE THE ONLY DISSAPPOINTMENT.
THANKS FOR READING MY REVIEW!

THE BEST RESIDENT EVIL EVER!!!!!!

This game is awsome! The graphics are amazing the best in the series aside from the Gamecube versions. You can see,and hear bullets hit the ground.Zombies now move and sound more life like. Even though I've never met one personaly. The gameplay is great! unlike surviver you now move around in third person veiw and go into first person when you want to shoot(go for head shots). You realy need a guncon2 or a blaster for this game though, because it's more real and accurate. At first it will seam strange walking around with the thumbcon, but you'll get used to it very quickly.Overall a very solid game that you should buy right now.

1000 X better than Veronica!

I just bought this game yesterday, and man I LOVE IT!! To be honest I was very disapointed with the last ps2 RE game,Code Veronica.Dead Aim however fixes all the problems that Veronica had and even improves other aspects!

First off,NO ANNOYING 3-D CONTROL CONFIGURATION!Most fans of RE games know what I'm talking about.Up=Down,Right=Left and vice versa.Thankfully someone at Capcom gained some sanity and did away with this horrible concept! If you want to go in a certain direction, then just push the analog stick in the same direction. Also killing zombies rewards the player,as some will drop herbal medicine and diffrent ammo.Of course the odds of this happening decrease/increase depending on what difficulty setting you are playing.

Graphics are great, though a bit dark at times (but hey, this is RE
after all)and the frame rate is extremely smooth.Switching to first person whenever you start shooting was awesome and really makes up for the fact that the ps2 doesn't have any of the House
Of The Dead series. Now I've not played with the actual light gun,
just the analog controller;but I thought that it was still easy and fun to use.Using the light gun must make it even better! There is one thing I didn't like about using the controller though; You have to use the RIGHT analog stick to move the cross hairs instead of the left, which is somewhat awkward. However
you may be able to change this by switching the control set up.
I've not tried myself(so in short you get used to it!)

As for the whole story I don't fully understand what's going on,but I really don't care.RE games have never been based on storyline,it's about blasting zombies/mutants and having alot of fun doing it!Well, basically some terroist group stole some t/g virus and hi-jacked a ship.Something happened and now it's a ship
of the undead;so you and china doll Fongling come to clean up the mess. One thing bothers me though... this Morpheus bad guy...
what's up with his "change"?? Feminine voice, breasts, and even high heel like feet? I guess now we're in the age of gender bending mutant monsters.... well whatever works I guess! LOL

One slight annoyance was that I thought the voice acting was very
very soft/low.It was hard to hear what the people were saying unless you turned up the volume on your tv pretty loud.I put the subtitles on so that I wouldn't miss anything, but the subtitles
do not read exactly what's being said. It's more of a summary which I thought was kind of dumb.Still though this is only a minor complaint.Resident Evil Dead Aim,to me,is the best in the whole series so far.I recommend any RE fan to buy this!

When I first picked up this game, I wasn't expecting it to be very good. I have played all the Resident Evil games, and the only first-person shooter, Survivor, was horrible. As I got into this game, however, I found myself enjoying it immensely. Having it in third-person until you enter combat is great. Also, the graphics are fairly good.
I have only two complaints. First, when the cut scenes come up, the music volume is too loud and I had a hard time hearing the characters' voices. And I couldn't find out how to turn the music volume down on the game. Second, it was way too easy. There were no puzzles, as in most RE games, and the bosses were nothing special. I beat the game in only seven hours.
All in all, I recommend that anyone interested rent this game, but I can't encourage anyone, even the die-hard Resident Evil fans, to buy it. The game just isn't long or hard enough to spend thirty-something dollars on.

This game is a really fun game, and I recommend it. It is original in that it takes you off of a fixed rail scheme which is incorporated in most other arcade style shooters and lets you control the charachter while letting you fire with your light gun, without making gameplay any less fun. The graphics in this game are also good. The only bad things about it, and they are small things are that it has a lack of a plot, it is short, and controls are kind of jumpy. Keeping the latter things in mind, it is still a very good, fun, and original game. ...

Wonderful game, but too short......

It's a good game. I enjoy it when I played in the mid-night and turned off all lights. However, you can finish it very easy in couple hours if you are good in RE. If you don't like to waste time on long long RPG, and hate some easy boring games, this game will be good for you to kill 2 to 5 hours. I would like to play it again and again. However, guncon 2 is very important for this game. If you don't have one, get one! Otherwise, you will lose a lot fun.

Good effort, but no

The Resident Evil series is renowned for reinventing itself through innovations, but Dead Aim has one of the riskiest new ideas yet: reliance on the GunCon 2 peripheral for shooting sequences. Unlike the first-person disaster Resident Evil Survivor, Dead Aim's diverse play mechanics add spice to an otherwise routine episode of monster blasting and puzzle solving. Dead Aim is basically an upgraded version of Resident Evil Gaiden for the Game Boy Color. You explore a monster-infested ship and other locales, collect items and weapons, and fight for your life. Dead Aim, however, throws in a unique twist: access a weapon, and you automatically go from third- to first-person view for arcade shooting along the lines of House of the Dead. Surprisingly enough, the combination works but not without a few deficiencies. The system allows for rampant cheating, and unless the gun peripheral is perfectly calibrated, you're going to waste a lot of ammo, which is already in short supply. Dead Aim's also relatively short with few rewards for repeat players, and although it carries the Resident Evil prefix, its narrative isn't nearly as involving as that of other games in the series. Dead Aim uses a full 3D visual scheme instead of the trademark pre-rendered environments. The result is fewer offscreen surprises and a very clean look, albeit at the cost of environmental details (like candles and other objects). There's also a welcome emphasis on stealth tactics as you're forced to move slowly and silently through various areas, and make as little noise as possible during particular boss battles. Accessible controls keep the action in line, and even sans the gun peripheral, the analog-stick substitute is a surprisingly playable alternative to the GunCon 2. Yet despite the new look and other features, Dead Aim's still filled with traditional Evil clichés. If you're a huge Resident Evil fan or a newcomer to the series, Dead Aim's worth the time investment. Although it's a middling side quest at best in the context of the Resident Evil universe, it's an engaging action/shooter.
