Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 is the best racing game ever! If you are a person who's obsessed with fast cars and good graphics, than this game would be the best for you! I know every single car they have in the game and the Top Speed I tested on the straightest Track in the whole game!:
This was the best racing game ever so consider buying it.

NFS:HP2 is a really awsome game. It is, of course, a racing game with high adrenalin and excitment, where you can race alone or with others, with or without cops in many different tracks. Plus, you earn awsome cars along the way. Yes, it has it's cons,(replay cameras aren't very good, Be The Cop, where you can chase the speeders, could be better) but I still rate it a five. I don't know why anyone would not like this game.

this game is by far one of the best racers ever. i loved the first hot pursuit. i liked how you earned money to fix/upgrade your car after winning a race. this did not return for the second hot pursuit game, but they kept everything else good about the game. there are great graphics, especially if you played the computer version first. much better version on the ps2. the cars are great, and the cops are ruthless. while this game is very well made, they could have added more to it to make it more intertaining, like maybe more speech from the police, you know, commical stuff. you will get many hours of sheer joy playing this game. the gameplay itself is very good. you can plan to take a shortcut or other way to get around roadblocks and completely through the police off. the slowmotion on jumps and crashes are also very intertaining. in my opinion the ps2 has the two best racing games, this one and gran turismo 3.

BUY this! I am glad that EA finally published this game. I have all the earlier versions of NFS for the PS One. This is by far the best one.Gorgeous graphics, great choice of automobiles, incredebly well designed tracks. First rate rendering with subtle reflections, shadows, etc. Sometimes I stop the race just so that I can look around the environment. Sunsets, waterfall, drive through town squares, etc. (I was disappointed in the GT3 seeing how Polyphony only created three new tracks).
No need to spend enormous amount of time passing driver's license tests or upgrading and tuning the cars as in GT3. Just pick a car and race.
I find this game addictive, incredibly fast paced (like cars with WARP engines), unlimited short cuts and secret passages.
Very entertaining slowmotion camera views (you can have it on or off) everytime the cars "hit the air" or drive through police barricades.
I do not recommend this if you want a driving SIMULATOR like the GT3. But, for sheer driving fun and entertainment for hours, it doesn't get any better! Enjoy!
My only complaint is that this game does not allow you to save the REPLY files.

NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 gives the player an incredible sense of speed. It makes you feel like you're blazing down the highway at 160 in a Ferrari. Arcade racing games don't get much better than this. Pros:
Awesome Sense of Speed
Sweet Cars (Ferraris, Porsches, etc)
Variety of Modes
Decent Graphics
The price (twenty bucks!!)
Being Chased by the Cops
Multiplayer
Cons:
Gets a bit hard at the end
Races can get drawn out and long winded
Overall, you'd be hard pressed to find a better arcade racing experience. This game has it all- speed, style, sweet cars, and good multiplayer. For the price, NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 is an incredible deal. If you're even a small fan of racing games you'll want to pick this one up.

I looked at a review for this game and ever since have wanted it. When I found and tried it out I was VERY impressed. The graphics are unbelievable! Helicopters drop bombs and shoot missles at you. This game gets a five star for awesome graphics and great gameplay. AWESOME GAME!!!!
It's mostly the car....(veiled Gone in 60 Seconds reference)

I've played both the PS2 and the PC version of this game, and I prefer the PS2 version. *
The tracks are challenging, especially in later races where the cars are faster yet less 'controllable' in tight turns. The scenery is amazing, and things like rain, smoke, fog, and sun glaring into your eyes all add to the ambiance (and the challenge!).
But what does it are the cars, especially the "NFS Editions" which are slightly tweaked on performance and seriously 'blinged out' on looks. The bubblegum-pink Diablo is way dope - the sort of car you'd expect to see cruising around Miami's South Beach club district...
I'd say that of the NFS series, this one is the top-rank for playability, especially the point-unlock feature. The High Stakes "lose the race, lose your car" feature is missing, but it's not really missed. It's not one for the 'racing sim' types - for that, you'd probably enjoy Porsche Unleashed or the Undergound series more.
*(If you prefer to play on the PC, get a high-end system. On my mid-range system I discovered low frame rates and 'stuck' controls when there are other cars on screen - if you manage to get out front, things smooth out a lot.)

I do have this game, and I love it!! It doesn't have only a few tracks to choose from,it has sooo many!!! My top three favorite cars would have to be the Porsche 911 Turbo,the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR,and the McLaren F1 LM which is the FASTEST car on the game. It can go 240MPH on some of the tracks!! This game is so realistic. It has real-life cars and songs from real bands that you can buy on CD.I think it is the best NFS game! You can race against other people and against cops. Or you can BE THE COP!!! As you get better they throw bigger challenges at you. And as you get better you unlock new cars and tracks. I just LOVE this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need for Speed 2 is awesome! It plays just like its PSone predecessor and it totally rocks! With new stages, better graphics and new cars you can't lose! Need for Speed 2 is a great buy for all gamers.Like any racing game, you pick out a car (in this one there are some really nice ones like the new Dodge Viper, Benz and Corvette). You also get to pick their the color of your car which is also pretty cool. That and each car is truly different. Each one drives a certain way, has its own perks (better handling, better speed etc) and of course, the Cops get some new vehicles to keep up with you.
Also a new addition to the game is the Stop Action camera (like in Max Payne, also another great PS2 title). When you start to recieve heavy damage during a race, the camera srops action and puts the game into slow motion as you're getting hit. It's pretty cool. Also the boards a lot more challenging. You really have to be able to play the field and the opposition in this one.
Again, very cool game! It's great for all gamers and anyone that's into racing games will not be able to put this one down.

Do not rate games on their demos. Demos are not usually like the games and the graphics are not great. I wasn't surprised when I played the demo because the graphics were bad, but it was free and that was what you should expect. I think this game is the best need for speed yet. The graphics are great, it is not too easy and not too hard, and it is fun and entertaining. I bought this game when it first came out and I was impressed. If you like racing games this is for you.
