I really like NFS:MW, however, I've hit a point in the game where I need to achieve one more milestone to advance. However, the milestone involves outrunning the cops, and I have to keep a cop around to ensure I can rack up the needed bounty, cop cars hit or damage to state. In order to get the points needed, I find myself stopping and waiting for the cops to catch up or even doubling back TO GO FIND THE COPS and engage them again. It's kind of unnerving. I hope to advance past this point soon (it's been a few days now just on this one part)and, hopefully, make it to the top of the blacklist.
Awesome addition to the NFS series

I have always loved NFS. This game is no exeption. The Cop chases are really fun, the enviorment is huge and less restricted than in Underground 2 and the racing and car physics are just a little bit more arcadey. This is fine, as the physics in Underground 2 were really sim-like. The music was okay too. The only big problem was that at times the framrate was horrible, which can sometimes really hurt the games fun. the custimisation is back just as good as ever and is helped by a great selection of velichles.
Greatest game ever made

I personally think that this is the greatest video game ever made. The career mode makes me think that. This game is not too fun for two player. Get this game for career mode.
Report card-
Graphics: A. The cars look like the real thing. Most realistic graphics you can have.
Gameplay: A+. One of the greatest parts of this game is the Free Roam. You get to cruise around the streets, run into signs and stuff, do whatever you want. But when you do that for a while, on the police scanner they'll be radioing to report you, so cops will head to your last known direction.
When you get chased by the cops and you wanna get away, you can activate the GPS to lead you to a Pursuit Breaker. A pursuit breaker is something you can run into that'll collapse, destroying cop cars or making them stop. Once you've evaded the police, you enter cooldown mode. You can activate the GPS to lead you to a hiding spot so the cops can't find you. Once your cooldown meter fills up, you've successfully evaded the pursuit.
To be able to challenge the next blacklist racer, you have to get enough bounty (points you earn during a pursuit), milestones (you can either earn these during a pursuit or get caught going faster than a certain speed through a camera), and you have to win enough race events. Once you've done this, you can challenge the next guy. You have to race him in two races. When you beat him, you can pick two markers. (Always get the bonus ones.) You don't know what they are until you pick them. They could be anything from the guy's car to money to get out of jail free cards.
Cars: A+. Awesome. Really realistic, great selection, 32 in all for career mode.
Upgrades: A+. It's so cool that you can get them. You can get visual upgrades, performance upgrades, and parts. The better the upgrade, the higher the price.
Overall: A+. MUST-HAVE FOR ANY GAMER!!!
The best Need for Speed yet!

This is definitely a game for racing fans and people who love tuning cars. In this game they actually have the exotic cars (Porsche, Lamborghini), which makes it even better. They also added cops in this game, which they never had in the previous Underground games.
Now to the game. In this game there are alot of cars. You can race from the old school muscle cars to a tuned up race car. And even the police have nice and fast cars. But they can be really tough at times (especially the SUVs).
The Storymode actually kept my interest throughout the whole game (unlike the others that were quite boring). There is a Blacklist that you must beat in order to become the #1 most wanted. In this Blacklist, there are 15 experienced Street racers that you must beat in order to get to the top. They each have their strengths, so it can get quite challenging at times. Another cool but at the same time annoying thing is when the cops interfere in the middle of a race and once you beat the race, you have to escape them. So it's very interesting and fun.
As for the gameplay, it's actually easy to get used to, even though it may seem difficult. It's also not complicated (PS2 version), it's mainly like the previous Need for Speeds. So you'll learn it like after the first race.
The graphics are one of the things that caught my attention. It's just so smooth and seems real. And the videos also seem very realistic and are always fun to watch and can be funny (when you get busted by a woman).
Overall, there's not much else to say except, go out and buy this game if you love racing games. Oh yes, and buy the Black edition!

I have been a long time fan of the NFS Series and I really LOVE this game. The options to make your cars Unique & Truly Personal, REALLY makes this game more fun. The only thing I dont like about the game is when you are BEEFING up your car the TOP Speed BAR doesnt give a value. My Cobalt SS is maxed out and I can only get it upto 190mph - although the TOP Speed Bar is MAXED OUT. Either Way this is a great game once yu get the hang of Tuning your ride.
One of the best titles in the series

Like Madden, RA pumps out a new (somewhat) Need For Speed title every year in time for the holidays. The last few entries in the Need For Speed series haven't been anything real special (especially the recent Need For Speed: Carbon), but this older entry is one of the best titles in EA's long running street racing series. Need For Speed: Most Wanted, combines the free-roaming elements and police chase sequences of previous games into one glossy package. You play as a top street racer who unjustly loses your ride to a rival. From that point on, you work your way up the Blacklist to take on rival racers to get your ride back. Along the way, you are helped by a hottie named Mia (played by the ultra hot Josie Moran), run into angry cops (one of which frequently wears revealing clothing showing off her toned midriff, which many cops do as you all know), and cause some nice amounts of chaos. The racing elements aren't anything new to the genre, but the police evasion and chase sequences are spectacularly done. Not to mention that Most Wanted offers plenty of replay value providing ample amounts of tracks, missions, cars, parts, and modifications to keep you busy. Graphically, the game experiences plenty of glitches and tearing as a previous reviewer has already pointed out, while musically it's a mixed bag of hip-hop and nu-metal. That aside, Need For Speed: Most Wanted is still one of the best entries in the long running series, and for newbies to the series this is as good a place to jump in as any.

This game isn't really bad at all. The only thing that I really didn't like about it is that you race in the daytime. I like that the cars are realistic-looking, and that you can use "real-life" cars like the Chevy Cobalt to race with. This was also an enjoyable characteristic of Need for Speed Underground II. Graphics are pretty good for using the PS2 platform. I thought the soundtrack could have been better, but overall it's alright. The thing that keeps me from fully enjoying this game is that I have Need for Speed Carbon as well, and I find that game much more fun and a lot more easy on the eyes.

In Need for Speed Underground 2 upgrading your car was easy and fun. In this game it is more limited and a lot harder to do. Also the cop chases are lame, just like people have said they are either gone in a second or on your [...] like stink on crap. I liked the new races and they graphics were OK. It's a generally fun game especially with having a rank but i still think Underground 2 was better. Go for Carbon.
Fantastic, utterly awesome street racing game

I'm giving this game five stars even though I actually wrote a list of nine things that I find irritating - in my opinion this game is so outstanding that it is hours upon hours of fun even with the frustrations that come with it. There is no question whether you should buy it if you like racing simulators.
This game doesn't have the largest variety of cars, but chooses instead to feature cars that are all great street racers. The physics, audio, and visual effects are all extremely well done - you can feel the unique power of Corvettes, Porsches, Lambroghinis, all of which sound and handle as you would expect them to in real life (including subtle differences between FR, MR, and FF cars). Corvette C06, Ford GT, Porsche Carrera GT, Lambroghini Gallardo - need I say more?
The gameplay is also very exciting, to say the least - strong sense of speed, fierce competition with other cars, and the urgency of police pursuit evasion. Plus you get to laugh at all the confrontational cut scenes, text messages, and voice mails you get from rival racers or Sergeant Cross.
The negatives I could mention all have to do with the AI - it has its rubber band effects, and the cop difficulty can get a little random at times (sudden increases that get you busted, or pursuits that are too easily evaded when you are trying to pass milestones, or Corvette cop car road blocks that stop you dead from 200mph as if they were heavy SUVs). The cop car ability to keep up with you even through bursts of acceleration with Ultimate tuning and NOS blasting, or around tricky tight corners when they aren't equipped with any aero parts, is also a bit ridiculous. But then, you can destroy their cars with a well-placed impact, while your car never takes any damage at all. Some of the other negatives are understandable to level the playing field a little, namely the "solid granite car" effect of your racing opponents (although it isn't fun when they can send you flying, but they stop you like a brick wall). One thing I detest is the drag racing mode - the mandatory semi-auto steering is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen programmed into a driving game and should at least be optional if you have a driving wheel. However, the overall bottom line is usually things get bad for you quickly because your driving gets sloppy and you start losing your head - ultimately you can fix much of this by merely refining your technique, staying calm, and keeping it smooth, quick, and precise. The more races you win, the more you can acquire better cars, which makes it easier to win more races and evade pursuits. The hard part is in battling the cops or the timed events, not so much defeating your blacklist rivals. Even with the rubber band AI, if you race well and have a good car, most of the time you will destroy your competition.
What I enjoy most is the handling of the cars - most of the time you will be driving at the limit which means high-speed drifting all over the place (which is crazy fun in a Sparco cockpit with a G25 wheel). And since this is street racing, the terrain varies considerably, which keeps things quite challenging. The game also has a high Carmageddon value, meaning lots of time spent running from police and frequently smashing up other cars, or even the odd bits of property destruction along the way.
Definitely one of the coolest games of all time.

This is easily the best racing game out there but has a few minor setbacks. If you were a costamization freak on the last game you won't like this one. They took out neon, hydros, trunk audio, split hoods, special doors, spinners, lots of carbon fiber, nitro purge, light colors, mirrors, and more. They also lost some of the best races like drift, outrun, URL, and street-x. The graphics are great and the feel of the game is very real but will be a lot better with the ps3. The carear is very long but also enjoyus. It's not a pointless carear like the other one was and you don't have to watch the stupid comic book movies. The cars are a ton better but there aren't as many. The free roam is pointless because besides shops you can get to every place by pressing a button. The persuits are fun but if you flip you screwed because any time you reset your car when the cops are looking for you you get caught. They can get quite long and boring but if you know how to evade you'll probably like them. Even when you finish carear theres plenty do do like top the rap sheet and challenge mode. This game is money well spent for me.
