This game is by far the worst flight sim I've ever played. I'm using top of the line processors and graphics card and the game play is still choppy at best. The technical data is top notch, but the flight controls have way too much lag time to be effective in basic fighter maneuvers. Trying to line up the CCIP with your target for Mk82 drops is almost impossible. The lack of a keystroke guide is a huge fault! Also, trying to read the instrument panel of the Frogfoot is an exercise in futility. Any of the Jane's sims are much better than this.
Don't Buy it ! It Doesn't run with Win98SE or WinME..POS

Well, what can be said for a product as buggy and ill prepared for release as this one is ? Don't buy it, it won't work at all for many of you and theres 100's of bugs for those of you lucky enough to have it run at all.
If you are willing to let yourself be a guinea pig for your $40 and finish developing their half-baked software, then you won't be disappointed. Otherwise stay away.
It really is cynical for them to release this just to catch the holiday buying season when it isn't even fit for purpose.

OK..nice looking game but...I have Dell PC with Intel pentium 4 processor (1.5Ghz), 768 MB Ram and Nvidia Geforce3 TI200 and this game simply won't play on my machine. Keeps crashing my computer all the time, what a waiste of money, so now I suppose to buy an another PC for couple thousand $ just to play it? I have dozens of games in this computer uncluding operation flashpoint, Il2 sturmovik and lot and lot more, and had no problems at all playing them all on highest settings, untill this "game disaster" came out....don't waiste your money untill u get a top of the line PC, itherwise it win't play

My computer was sit up from DELL to play games so it has plenty of muscle. The thing is I bought a Logitech Extreme 3D pro twist handle joystick that works wonderful on other games. But with lockon some things work and some things don't. No matter how you program the stick, and it crashes from time to time and you have to start the missions all over again. As far as tech support for the game they have no answers about it and thats after a long long distance call. There answer to the problem is log on line and ask sombody else for HELP!! The game started off very well and I was very disappointed when things didnt work out maybe things will go better for you but thats a chance I would'nt take..
Sweet game

Lock On is definately worth the wait! The game is much better than any other flight sim I've played it quite a long time. I have yet to encounter one of these "major problems" people here keep mentioning. Perhaps if you all had AMDs, instead of Intel POS's it might run a bit better ;-). The only *REAL* problem with the game that I have found is there is an issue with the radar in the F-15. Luckily, the devs are all ready working on a patch for this problem and it should be out any time. Other than the F15 radar issue, the game is just awesome. Runs flawlessly on my machine.

Without the proper video card the graphics on this game DO NOT work. Everything is blacked out where there should be graphics. The system requirements don't tell you that you need a high end graphics card for this game to work. I contacted Ubi software. They told me in an email that I should use a GForce FX graphics card. At other websites they suggested a GForce 6600 graphics card with at least 256MB of memory. These cards range from $100 to $150. If you don't have the proper card DO NOT buy this game.

This game is by far the most beautifull game i've ever seen, on cutting edge hardware you'll get a good 25-40 fps which is great for a flight sim.
Gameplay is great, sweet avionics, tough AI, advanced radar systems for each plane, and awesome weather conditions make for seriously imersive gameplay. This game isn't for the casual gamer, and it does have a few small bugs, but for the experienced simmer this is a gem.
Thank you ED!!!

When I first tried this sim, I was using a force feedback joystick that had gone limp, and it was no fun. I got a new non-force feedback stick that is very firm and it was like playing a new game. What could be more fun than flying a jet fighter with devastating weapons? Not Much.
As far as the complainers in this section about windows 98, I say get with the program and upgrade to XP. It's much better anyways.
Happy flying!

The Graphics are really very cool, I was amazed with the design and development and (not being a game player) I bought this for the first time in my life, May be Ubi Soft's marketing team had this idea in mind (dont make joke of me as if it isnt) that to rush the game out before christmas, but rather it turned out to be a bundle of problems, 50% of the buyers are selling out more fast then they are buying because their systems cannot support, I mean what do you require? a Cray Super Computer? I'm running a 3000+ AMD with 1024MB DDR, what else do I require to play a decent game? still it took a little to load + some problems arising more, blue green graphics etc, so Best Suggestion is, to buy it after some time (say 2 Months), by that time they should have fixed that bugs, over all I must say, Game is Excellant.
