bad points: this game is so frustrating! the movement is so bad, you have to just tap the analog stick to dodge punches, but whos going to just tap it when your getting wailed on. you can easily dodge punches by hopping around and by running away from your opponent. its just impossible to do any defense. also, if you create a boxer hes going to [be bad] cause they dont give you enough points at the beginning and when you do win they dont give you enough points when you do win. your create a guy boxer is also very slow no matter how many speed points you have. the computer can land like 3 punches in before you land 1. the slow motion is awful, cause the sound and the punches are so off key. and the sound of the punches are horrible anyways. even when i was sugar ray robinson, i still had a difficult time beating the worst guy on the game because again, he would land about 3 or 4 punches in before i could land 1. and its very difficult to block or dodge punches. and when you get knocked down its so unrealistic, i dont think ive ever seen a boxer go flying in the air when he gets knocked or go spinning up in the air and then curl up into a little ball.
good points: the graphics are ok and the 2 player mode is pretty intense cause when your playing against someone else you just want to slaughter them and you dont really care about strategy.
This is the worst game I have own

I have played the N64 (KK2000), PS1 (KK2001) and PS2 (KK2001) games, and I was so excited to buy this new version because you would think this would be a better game. Well, it is definitely not a better game. Actually, it is the worst KK game of all.
First of all, the controls is a nightmare. You can not throw body punches, only one signature move, two ilegal punches, and use of analog stick (a nightmare!).
Second, no SLUGFEST. That was very fun when playing with your friends, but, not anymore.
Third, no Training in career mode. You fight, win, get Reserve Points, and move on. "Boring"
Fourth, No Ranking in Career mode. It is by levels (4 I think.)
Fifth, blocking punches is a nightmare.
Sixth, did I already mentioned no Slugfest.
I will return my copy today!!! It is a very big, huge disappointment.
disgrace for boxing fans

I purchased this game a few days ago and now getting the hang of it. I like the graphics, they are pretty good and I think you'll enjoy that part of it. As far as the action is concerned, your fingers will kill you playing this game! It is almost impossible to defend yourself so your best defense is a good offense! Using the left joystick the way you are supposed to in order to defend yourself is very awkward. If you try to "bob" left or right, you will be punched like crazy as you are doing so. Still, It's worth the money (I paid $...) compared to most of the high priced games out there today. At least you get to beat the hell out of each other in this game!
The best boxing game out there.

The game is most definately the best boxing game of all time, but that doesn't say much. The game needs more boxers to choose from, I mean how can you make a boxing game and exclude Roy Jones Jr., Mike Tyson or George Foreman! Nothing (bad) about this game, dont get me wrong, it just needs improvement, hopefully 2003 will be better.
2 stars as an overall rating... it should be lower!!!!!

this game is just plain horrible. Gameplay is the worst ever for a boxing game period. No entrances except for the last fight in that pymarid wannabee career mode, no real chance to create boxers, all you do is pick a pre created person, give them trunks and boxing gloves and imagine that can at least resemble a realistic boxer. I truly hate this game, ALL ASPECTS OF STRATEGY DO NOT EXIST IN THIS GAME, ON THE COVER THEY SHOULD HAVE PUT FOR BUTTON MASHERS ONLY.
