River City Rumble meets Ninja Gaiden.

Remember those old 2D games where you just walked down a street and punched the crap out of bad guys? This is one of those games, but in 3D. The combat system is more complex than that of those old beat-em-ups, but the feeling is just the same.

Be warned, though: This is a challenging game. You have to pay attention to your surroundings, and dodging is just as important as beating on the enemies. You might have to do a particular segment/fight a dozen times, but oddly enough, that's wasn't really a flaw in this game for me. Getting better and better at reading enemies and getting better at dodging attack after attack was encouraging for me, and gave the game a real Punch Out sort of feel.

If you want something fun, challenging and somehow fresh despite reminding you of all those old games about punching (and kicking) people silly, God Hand is for you.

One Amazing Game!

I have owned and played every Clover game and this one is the best. Also, there is a reference to Kevin Smith's Clerks, which makes this game that much more awesome.

Over the top and entertaining.

It's cheesy, it's over the top and you can gamble. The entire game is goofy and weird. One of the first scenes is having to beat up a group of baddies with a "KICK ME" sign on your back and one of the basic moves you start the game with is being able to walk up to a downed opponent and stomp his head as many times as you can wail on the circle button. You can build your own combos and earn a bunch of super attacks. Plus the whole this is almost as much fun to watch as it is to play. I'll finish with two words, POISON CHIHUAHUA!

surprisingly addictive

not sure where to start with this one, but I have to admit its oddly addictive. it's a pretty basic fighting game with customizable move sets and some power moves. most of the better moves need to be unlocked and purchased (not a big deal since money's quite easy to come by) but that makes the first time you play the game quite annoying. i actually finished it twice and (so far) and both times i've unlocked MORE moves in the store.
i liked the casino portion- that's where i made the most money and although some people may have criticized the cheesy story line, it's not that much of a deterrent. it's a great game to pick up wherever you left off and be assured of getting out some frustration by beating up multiple enemies without having to remember what the purpose of your 'quest' is!
worth buying in my opinion, but as always, rent first then decide.

Surprisingly entertaining

This game is what it is, a button smasher, but make sure you smash the right buttons! the graghics are OK, The story is a little thin, it's a wacky, fun, crazy story. BUT the game play makes up for both of these flaws. The fight move are incredible, Techniqes are awsome, and there are over 100! the roullete wheel is a cool idea as well, I like the Casino too, its very well done... you can play video Poker or Black Jack for gold pieces, you can also bett on dog racing too. I really like this game and I'm a picky gamer.. play this game a couple of hours and you'll be addicted

God Hand is a cult classic. It is extremely fun and extremely difficult. It is a beat 'em up game with high charisma. It's a originally a Japanese game however even the Japanese version had English voice acting. It is fairly short but has great replay value and unlocks. I would recommend God Hand to anyone with patience, a sense of humor and someone who likes beat 'em up games. Overall God Hand is unique and will be hard to find someday.

I picked up this game largely based on the reviews here, and I was NOT disappointed! This game is one of the best I have ever played; It can be tough, but it is very rewarding. You play as GENE, a sort of hapless heroe, whose attitude reminded me of Ash in the Evil Dead Series. He saves a girl, Olivia, who bestows upon him the power of the God Hand, in exchange for basically telling him everything to do. Along the way you meet lots of wild charachters including a demon mexican Elvis impersonator(!), A sexy nymph, a gorilla in a wrestling mask, a rocker who uses his guitar as a weapon, midget Power Rangers, and lots of guys spouting Mike Tyson-like threats. Filled with quirky humor and in-jokes, this game will keep you interested till the very end.
