I don't usually write reviews, but I was so shocked by the number of people who wrote this game was and I quote, "THE BEST GAME EVER!", I just couldn't resist my urge to write. Hey, guys, don't waste your precious time to trick people to buy this game please. Yea, maybe if you are so in love with the movie that you memorize every single line(Hey, I love the movie too), or if you like to be entertained by a few oohs and ahhs flash moves, I wouldn't stop you from getting the game. Thinking back about the game just irritates me again, so I'll just end with pros and cons of the game. Finally, I apologize for such a negativity, but hope it's justified.^^
PROS:
*GIVES YOU BACK STORY FOR NIOBE AND GHOST ACTED BY REAL ACTORS(BTW, ALYIAH WOULD'VE BEEN SO LOVABLE FOR NIOBE!) AND 5 MIN TRAILOR OF FINAL MATRIX MOVIE
*FLASH MOVES (DODGING BULLETS, ETC.)YEA THIS IS COOL AT LEAST FOR FEW MINUTES OF THE GAME
CONS:
*WHAT'S WITH SO MANY SAVES?(PS2) IT HAPPENS WITH ALMOST EVERY 10 MINS
*ATARI IS KNOWN FOR SQUARE LOOKING GRAPHICS, BUT CLOSE UPS WITH GHOST AND ESPECIALLY NIOBE IS JUST FLAT OUT UGLY, AND IT DOESN'T MEAN OTHER GRAPHICS LOOK DENDY EITHER
*TUNNEL STAGE IS TOO LONG AND TOO DARK, I COULDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE ENEMY FROM THE WALL UNTIL THEY STARTED SHOOTING
*FINISHED THE GAME IN 4 HOURS.(PRETTY SURE SOME FINISHED EARLIER)
*SO MANY WEAPONS, YOU COULD FINISH THE GAME WITH 2
*LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, CAR CHASE AND THE FINAL STAGE AGAINST DESTROYERS ARE GOING TO REMIND YOU OF 80'S NINTENDO SHOOTING GAME. GUESS SOMETIMES IT'S NICE TO BRING BACK OLD MEMORIES....
Finally, those whom said this game is "THE BEST GAME EVER", I'll give you 3 games:
Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, and GTA Vice City.
Hope you haven't played these games.^^

Look, here's the deal: This game has had almost (not counting special effects time) the same amount of time put into into it as the movies have. Consequently, ENTER THE MATRIX plays as a video game should. The graphics are just as good as Splinter Cell, if not better, the voice-over/ cut scenes are the first I have ever actually WANTED to watch, the interactivity of the enviroment is better than Vice City, and on top of that, the gameplay itself varies greatly, not to mention, its incredibly fun to play. If all videogame makers took a page from the Wachoski bros and didnt cut corners on their games, they would all be this amazing to play. BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!!! PS: I wish i was a ninja because they are totally sweet and awesome

This looks to be a very promising game. I have seen many screenshots from varios places, and I have to tell you, it has the BEST and SMOOTHEST graphics I have seen in a game. The game contains incredible visual effects including advanced particle engine and world destruction as seen in the Matrix movie. Well, being made by Shiny Entertainment, and Infogrames, it looks like a very well done game. On top of that, Larry and Andy Wachowski, the writer/director/producers of the movie trilogy, wrote the game out in script for Shiny to go by! Also, the martial arts choreographer for the Matrix trilogy, Yuen Wo Ping, directed the kung fu for the game. Just like he did in the movie, Wo Ping gives you the power to run on walls or take down a room of enemies without breaking a sweat. That is awsome!
The game features:
* Playing as 2 new charachters in th Matrix: Reloded, Ghost or Niobe.
* The game has the truly authentic, photo-realistic Matrix "look" based on unparalleled collaboration with the actual movie making production crew.
* Players will see, only after playing the game, that their actions actually have an effect on the The Matrix Reloaded and when seeing the movie for the first time will realize how what they see actually ties in with the game they've played
*The story-within-the-story, so without playing the game, you wont see the entire Matrix: Reloaded story.
* A good blend of game ganres: Action/Exploration/Fighting/Driving.
* Awsome kung fu action!
* Car chase and stunts, Hollywood style!
* Defy gravity with Matrix "Bullet-Time".
* Larry and Andy Wachowski, wrote the game script and personally directed around one full hour of NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN Matrix footage exclusively for this video game. (Shot at full Hollywood quality using the same movie crew and actors.)
* The game stars all of the key characters from The Matrix Reloaded (likeness and voice over), including Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith), Ghost (Anthony Wong), Sparks (Lachy Hulme) and Persephone (Monica Bellucci.)
* Take on Agents in intense action sequences.
* Pilot the Logos, the fastest hovercraft in the Zion fleet.
* Learn from the Oracle how you can help save mankind.
And dont worry all you people that cant play "M" rated games, it is a "T" rated game. And for all you people that can play "M" rated games,(like me) this is sure to be a game you dont want to miss out on!

I just recently bought this game and I thoroughly enjoy all of it. But to be fair I will give an honest review on its main aspects.
The good: Very cool moves as far as martial arts go. If you liked the moves from the first or second movies then you will like the ones on this game. (be sure to use your "focus") The graphics in my opinion are top notch. There is an hour of Movie that won't be in theatres. The voices are done by the actual actors not some college thespians. Not too difficult gameplay but still challenging. I love that when you aren't moving your health regenerates (unless you are fighting a boss). Tons of weapons and the enviroment can be damaged ala the lobby scene in THE MATRIX movie. The story also ties in with the movie's story. After passing a level you unlock a level select and can replay it anytime.
The bad: The CGI movies will sometimes have double sounds, for example if Ghost says "yes" you will hear it twice. It doesn't happen every time but it can be distrating. The missions are sometimes short and you have to load frequently which is also annoying. You will also find yourself wondering why can't I play as NEO or Trinity or Morpheus? well here's hoping a cheat code is out there for it!
Well that's it folks. If you enjoy 3rd person games and love lots of action and of course the matrix you won't be disappointed buy it today!
could of been better!!!

I am a honest reviewer. i don't just play games and say "hey this game get's 5 stars," and 10 days later you find out that the game [stinks]. But this game is rather desent. It is jam packed with all sorts of karate moves, the time bullet thing is kinda useless (it only gives you the ability to increase you fighting and acrobatic skills, useless when dodging bullets), and the story kicks everybodys' arse. The graphics are nice, combat is alright, the gun play is good, acrobatic stuff rules, and even the car chases are not bad either. But as always, every game has its flaws. This game has the stupid camera, but aparrently so does most other games. And this game can be repetitive after a while, but this is a desent action shoot-'em-up game. This game is in comparison to MAX PAYNE and DEAD TO RIGHTS with a hint of GRAND THEFT AUTO 3. NOTE: This game is better than MAX PAYNE for PS2 but not the XBOX or PC. MAX PAYNE'S bullet time better than this game.
(1-10)
STORY - 10
GRAPHICS - 7
SOUND - 9
CONTROL - 6
ENTERTAINMENT - 7
REPLAY VALUE - MODERATE
OVERALL - 7.9
(note: this game does freeze at certain parts of the game. The reason why THAT Is is becuz you naughty people have been unlocking cheats. if you unlock 3 or 4 cheats or more it will freeze. It's happened to me in the level where you fight the AGENT HELICOPTER and some sewer level.)
Fun game but lighting is bad and a few bugs

This game is terribly fun. I love the matrix-like combat and the general play of the game. The thing that keeps this game from being 5 stars is that there are a few annoyances about it:
1. the lighting is terrible - I have to play the game with the brightness allllllll the way up so I don't spend forever walking by the door I need. No point to hiding a door in the shadows if you are told in your objective were it is, come on.
2. few bugs - the bugs I've ran into is when my character gets trapped inside a solid object. Like, I do a jump and boom! I am stuck in the half-wall. It is more of an annoyance than anything since the game does let you save often which is good.
3. camera angles are a bit off- hard to keep track of were everything is.
4. last bit of annoyance stems from bad lighting is there are these jumps and if you don't jump you'll die. Can't see the jumps do to the lighting so end up dying endlessly, however, due to the several save spots it balances out... but erm, fun game overall. I say it is worth buying just to kick some butt and do cool matrix type stuff.
Disappointing

Thankfully I rented the game rather than paying out the full price and having played it for several hours I can certainly say I am glad I did not waste my money.
I'd have to say there is some fun to be had with the game, the focus time, the realistic Matrix style moves are all great and the cut scenes and sound effects are wonderful and will be enjoyed by any fan of the movies. However the game falls very short in terms of long term play-ability. The game seems to have been rushed to the stores and the game play is painfully liner. To me this is a game that will be enjoyed for the week you rent it from Blockbuster, but if you buy it you'll be sick of it very soon and sorry you wasted fifty bucks.
My advice; take your fifty bucks rent the game for a week or two and save the rest of the money to buy the movie when it comes out on DVD!
Pass the dutchie....

What is everyone giving these 5 star reviews smoking?
Please rent the game first before you buy. Everyone who is interested in buying this game *wants* it to be good, but it falls short. Aside from the interesting tie-in with the movie, the gameplay does *not* stand on its own.
I found the PS2 graphics weak, and the animation surprisingly bad. AI was not great and the game feels rushed.
Great game,but Neo is missing=(

This game is completely awesome! It has a great storyline and great graphics. But,something's missing, you can't use Neo. I'd prefer to use Neo rather than Niobe and Ghost. Oh and something great about this game is that you just press a button while doing a cool movement to put slow motion and the slo-mo camera even goes around your character! Another great thing is that you press that same button while shooting and you make bullet time. This game is great in all perspectives, but I really really really really really wanted to use Neo. I hope there's at least a cheat that lets you use Neo. I really want to use Neo=(
THIS IS A VERY FUN GAME BUT FEW MAY NOT ENJOY

Enter the matrix is a very good game in its own genre. If you were to compare this game to others like it (max payne, mark of kri, dead to rights, blade 2...), enter the matrix will prevail. If you were to compare it to splinter cell, deus ex, world series baseball 2k3, devil may cry, gt3, gta vice city and so on, the matrix will fall short. The graphics are about a 7.5 out of ten(pretty good), sound 8, control 6.5 and fun factor 9.5. I found this game to be rediculously fun but with slugish controls (thats why i didn't give it a 10). The moves in this game look great but are kind of tricky to pull off perfectly so when u do excecute the moves and the are not performed perfectly, it looks kind of weird (but good nonetheless). I am not there yet but the sentinel section of the game looks really stupid but the rest of the game looks and plays good. I recommend this game to everybody who remembers the good old days with games such as turtles in time, streets of rage, peacekeepers, battletoads etc. But i do not recommend this game for people who are going to compare the graphics to splinter cell and other top of the line visual masterpieces and for people who are looking for a complex and very technical game(I am into all types of games).
On the whole(lol), I feel that everybody should pick this one up and for the price you can't go wrong. Out of 100 i give this an 85. REALLY GOOD!!! (FUN WISE)
