First of all I want to warn all those CT fans: dont take this game as a Clock tower game, think of it as of something separate (actually that is also a good thing to do with Resident evil 4),it really goes better once you do that, believe me.
The almighty Resident evil master Capcom took the game name to its new level - no more point & click controls!Though the gameplay idea is almost the same- run, run for your life and hide!Or attack with something that might come in handy. No matter if you played any CT games before or not, it will take some time to 'learn the curve' and develop some tactics in those 'boss battles', which I find the major turn off in this game. But once you get used to it, its not a problem.
The juicy part of this game- enemies. They are nicely made:appearance, story, theme music. But why they are Oh so predictable? Sometimes when they jump out all of a sudden and scare the main heroine, its pretty cool, but when it happens over and over again, added with some stupid repeating phrases or laughters from them,or when they are just following you non-stop, it doesnt seem so scary or intriguing anymore, but more like annoying. It could be much better, if the enemies were more intelligent.
The story is promising and somewhat gory (at least the first two parts). But unfortunately there is no replay value, except for some alternate costumes, higher difficulty level and bosses with other weapons.
Now onto the conclusion:
some might love this game, some might hate, some might just leave it in the middle. If you arent a survival horror fan, I highly doubt you will fit in the first category. But if you are, there is a big chance you will enjoy CT3 while waiting for that new RE/SH to come out!

Even though Clock Tower 3 is a little too long, it's still one of the best games I've played yet, except maybe for 'Haunting Ground'. I've been trying for about 5 years to beat the last boss fight between Alyssa and her Grandfather but never have succeeded. I would love to finish the game but the last battle is the hardest one I've seen in any video game. And also, it looks like the game designers could make the main character's clothes and skin to gradually become more smudged as the game goes along, but instead, at the end of the game, the main player still looks like he/she is ready to go out dancing even after wading through sewers and battling enemies and getting thrown around all over the place. CT3 is more exciting than 'Resident Evil' because the enemies in this game, as in 'Haunting Ground', chases you from one area or room to another, but in RE when you meet up with enemies, you can just leave the room and they cannot follow. Another thing I like about the game is, alyssa moves at the same speed all through the game, so there's no need to press two buttons to make her run, just the left analog stick is all. Hope there's a 'Clock Tower 4' in the future.

This is what it would really be like if evil spirits and and mass murderers were chasing you, You would run, run fast, and hide. You would not find a rocket launcher in the bathroom or hand gun bullets on a carousel in an amusement park. Your only defense in this game is stun your attacker with holy water and then run and hope theres a place to hide near by. Most of the puzzles are not that difficult but not everything is right there in front of you either, sometimes you have to walk on a ledge that you didnt notice the first three hours you were wondering around. The gameplay is really good, you can move around easily, the graphics are excellent, The acting is bad but thats normal for these kind of games.
Overall great game..other than a few lil things...

Okay, I'm a girl, who happens to get scared VERY easily. Which happens with most games I play. Resident Evil series, Silent Hill series etc...yep. And I have to say that this game is different than anything I've ever played.
So I DID see the first two games, only I don't remember much except being chased by a scissor man and knocking a shower curtain on him or something, so I can't compare these to the others...
Well, I played this game on a dare from my little brother, who knew it was scare me. Well....It did. But it wasn't the same kind of scare that I get from Resident Evil...it was...well...different. The first time I played I spent at least 30 minutes in a telephone booth waiting to find a strategy guide so I could figure out what to do.
It's a good game...it has plot...(Sure, I haven't beat it yet, but that's because I keep..umm getting scared...agh! so I haven't seen the end...yet) but I definatly got scared of it. I know people have beat it in one day, that's the only really bad thing about it, it's simple...that's not saying much though... it's not A LONG GAME!
Other than that, I thought that this game was great. Unlike a few other games I've played recently, the accents actually sound...somewhat believable...yes..somewhat...I've had enough of my brother chasing me around trying to sound British...the killer..people have unique voices as well...although they kind of can get on your nerves if it takes you a long time, like me, to figure out where to go next and you're forced to hide for long periods of time.
Like most games, the camera angles get a little messy at times, but if you've played Resident Evil or similar games, then you're probably already used to this little problem.
It kinda bugged me that you'd hide behind some stupid stuff...like...a fish tank...any killer in real life would be able to spot me if I hid behind a fish tank...Other than that it's a pretty decent game. If you're into running away and hiding from monsters and such, then you should definately check this game out. If you're into somehow finding a gun in an unreasonable setting and blasting the heads off zombies, (which I have nothing against...because I love RE and Silent Hill like games...^^) then try another game...because there's nothing like there here.
Piece of crap?

This game, (as I do agree with some people) really does suck. I love capcom but I can believe capcom would come out with a piece of junk like this. It can be fun at some parts throughout the game, but only a few. Also there were a few glitches, and the controlls were messed up. Other bad things include the stragety guide! You don't even need it! They messed that up too and you dont need it except it has some hints. Also, some of the bosses you have to beat can take FOREVER, I repeat forever! I spent about an hour or two on this one boss!
If you like games like Resident Evil or silent hill kind of horror games this a great game to get! But if your like me and can't stand stupid unrealilistic horror shooting games don't buy this (although it can be fun at times!

I bought this game about a month ago thinking that it would be great... But I waS WRONG! This game was teribble. You can't even fight the bad guys who chase you. Some people say thats what makes this game so good but I think you should be able to arm yourself with a weapon because when they chase you all you can do is hide. If you ask me thats not very exciting. Ohh and you get holy water to freeze the bad guys. I mean what kind of crap is that? Also when people put this game in the same catagory as resident evil, Silen hill, and fatal frame it gets me mad. A game this bad dosen't deserve to be catagorized with those awesome games. Yes it is scary and the graphics are great but it dosen't make up for the diffuculty, controls, boringness, and all the other flaws in the game. If your lookin for a great game to scare you get Silent Hill, Resident Evil, or Fatal Frame 1 & 2. I warned you DON'T GET THIS GAME!
Scary, interesting, worth trying

Clock Tower 3 is definitely a fun game, for the most part, anyway. The graphics are great, but the gameplay has a few flaws.
The main character, Alyssa recieves a letter at boarding school from her mother instructing her not to return home until she has turned 15. Naturally, Alyssa is disturbed by the message and, of course, returns home. What follows is a nightmare of serial killers, ghosts, and the mystery of the Clock Tower.
At first, I was very impressed with the game. The stunning CG animation in the intro movie thrilled me as well as the opening cinema itself. Beyond the first level, however, the game showed flaws, such as horrible lip-sync. The game's cinemas are like watching an old Japenese film with the voices dubbed right over the original. The voice acting for the most part was good, except for a few annoying characters such as Dennis (I hate him!)
Aside from the graphics, the gameplay itself left much to be desired. The controls were a bit unresponsive, especially if you tried to turn around quickly and the game's puzzles were a bit too easy to solve. Like I said, for the first few levels, it's scary, but things quickly become repetetive. The serial killers that chase after you (they're called Subordinates) are relentless, and I think that sort of adds a bit of variety to the game. The panic meter, well, sucks. You have no way of defending yourself except by throwing holy water at your assailant. They only have to hit you a few times before you freeze up with fear and then ultimately die because they kill you when you just stand there. Although it wasn't very hard to beat, there were times when I found myself screaming at the guy chasing me to just SHUT UP so I could think for a minute.
The story, on the other hand was excellent, although once again, only at first. Soon it gets lost in a bunch of stuff about Rooders and Subordinates and castles and stuff that makes you wonder how the game suddenly went from solving past murders to trying to kill your grandfather.
Ultimately, if you like 3-D surival/horror games reminiscent of Resident Evil or Silent Hill then you would probably enjoy this game. Also, if you, like me, just love games with awesome graphics (there's a story?) then you'd like this, too.
However, to most people I'd recommend a rental.
A Great Game

I think Clock Tower 3 is the best and scariest game ever! I haven't beat the whole game yet, but I will! The sledge hammer guy is the scariest I think. Either way this is a great game! If you like bloody, gruesome, and scary games you should buy this!
