This is a great survival horror game. Though it isn't if you are looking for a game where you fill bad guys full of lead. This is like reident evil 3 nemesis, cept without the guns. You basically solve puzzles, watch amazing cutscenes, and run away from bad guys. There are boss battles where you use " Magical Arrows " to kill the boss. But dont think this is a bad game just because of the lack of combat, unless you love combat. If you are a guy looking for good graphics, awsome cutscenes, good story, fun and strategic gameplay, and a game that is scary as hell. Then get this. But if you like the fighting then dont, well still give it a try.
For whom the bell tolls ...

I am a huge "Fatal Frame" fan, and when somebody told be about this game, I was a little skeptical that it would even come close to one of the scariest games ever.
HOW WRONG WAS I!!! I absolutely loved this game!!! The plot is fast paced and well done. The graphics were great and you instantly become engrossed in the quest of Alyssa Hamilton, a 15 year old girl with secret powers, who is out to set things right in order so save her mother. Her hidden past is revealed, and the tension mounts as she heads towards the final battle with the evil Lord Burroughs.
The game is divided into different stories which you must work your way through in order to get to the next one. I particularly liked the first one involving helping young May Norton and her father unite.
One main thing to be aware of is that your attacker for each story WILL NOT STOP!!! You have to be quick and go to pre-designated hiding spots. Every so often, when they haven't appeared for awhile and you think they might, go ahead and hide!!! Use your items when your in the middle of a story, because you can't use them during a Boss Battle.
I think everyone who likes scary games with a mystery to solve will definatley like this one.
very scary!

This game is visually stimulating, with a pretty decent story to match. Some story events get dangerously close to a Buffy-type game (a young teenage girl with the mission to destroy possessed demons...hmm)
What makes this game really terrifying is that you have no way to kill your enemies. You can douse them in holy water to stun them for a bit, but that's all. The only thing you can do is hide, which does get a bit repetitive after a while.
It's a really scary game, and I'd buy it if you love horror!
Frustrating (annoying actually) at times

I just finished the game and my overall impressin is that it is in general a good game. More into Suspense than Horror.
The nice things about the game is that, other than boss battles, it is not a shooting type of game where you are a hero just blasting all monsters around with uber weapons. Your only defence is a bottle of limited supply of holy water.
The annoying part is that sometimes you are just trying to find out about what to do when the damn killer shows up again and you have to run to your hiding place. This happens so much that there are times when you simply get very frustrated. The most annoying though not hard to hide from is the chopper.
Annotther annoying thing is the controls. Capcom made this game and it is pretty obvious that the reused the models from RE so why the hell not reuse the controls? Sometimes you change camera angles and you find yourself making a mistake and runing into a wrong direction. You get sort of used to after a while but it is certainly a bad design.
Now, what is also terribly annoying is when you die on a boss battle and you want to continue, then you will have to wait for the presentation of the boss again, why not put you right where it says "judgment"? Talk about bad game design.
I also found that I needed to pull a walkthrough for those times when you don't freaking know what to do. This is specialy true for the last part of the game, where you go through the castle. I walked for minutes, evading the annoying scissor freaks and being able to find nothing, until the walkthrough told me I had to look into the candles.... sigh!...
In general the game idea is very good and the suspense/scare factor is very good too, unfortunately the game is very short too. Thes are the reasons why I gave it 4 stars.
In general:
Graphics: 6.5 (borrowed from RE2, not a big thing nowdays).
Sound: 7.5 (Music is good, but Special effects are also borrowed from RE series... no immagination here, lots of reuse).
Game Plot: 7.5 (Good enough to keep you interested).
Game Controls: 4 (A total mistake they made here).
Game Play: 8 (As I said nice scares and nice concept)
Scare Factor: 8 (Good enought to keep you tense, though they abuse sometimes and make you annoyed)
Overall: 8.
an annoying disgrace

Alright I got Clock tower 3 when I got my ps2 thinking it was going to be a great game....and I was wronge. It sucked! It only took me 4 hours to beat. I will say this, The serial killers Rock. All you get to fight back with is a bow!! I guess thats understandable since you play as a teenage girl and a shotgun would be a little too much for her. Clock tower 3 isn't worth your money. Rent it maybe, but don't buy it.
Kinda stupid

Clock Tower 3 is fun at first and really is scary. you will not play this game alone, i guarentee you. the weird creatures with hammers chase you around and call for your name "Alyssa where are you" when you are hiding in a locker, phone booth Etc. It is fun if you are planning on breaking your PS2, because this game will make you do just that. The game is impossible to beat and you can't take five steps before you hear the creepy music, which means a monster is nearby and is looking for you. amd when they are gone you will see them disappear through a blue portal that came out of nowhere.
Though the game is fun, rent it, don't buy it.

This is a genre changer and enhancer. It is very scary. You don't know what to expect. I've played other scary games like fatal frame, Silent Hill 3, Resident evil, and this. Clock tower 3 is right up at the top. It is much better then the previous two. The graphics are also an aprovement over its pretesesors.
Best Game Ever!

I find this game very fun to play. The story is great, but the graphics could have better. But that doesn't matter, and the voice acting is great. People who just like games to kill things or blow things up, might not fine this game interesting, because you don't use any weapons(expect for boss battles). You just run and hide.
This game is also scary, cause monsters come out of no where and attack you. There is a panic meter, which is another great thing about it. I also find this a billion times better than Silent Hill 3(which even thought you had weapons, and could attack monsters, turned out to be very boring.)
