WHAT THE @#$!?%

IF YOUR A FAN OF STREET FIGHTER AND EXPECTING A EVEN MORE HIGHLY DETAILDED 2-D FIGHTING GAME SINCE CAPCOM VS SNK 2,WELL THINK AGAIN! I PLAYED THIS GAME YESTERDAY AND I'M LIKE WHAT THE !@#@#!? IS THIS! I READ THE REVIEWS IN MAGAZINES AND ALL BUT I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS GONNA BE LIKE THIS. FIRST, THE GAME LOOKS LIKE A 16-BIT SNES GAME,WHAT HAPPEN TO DETAILED CHARACTERS,CLEAR 3-D BACKGROUNDS,ZOOM IN FEATUERES AND SPECIALS MOVES,EXTRA OPTIONS,TONS OF CHARACTERS, VERSATILE MUSIC,ETC,ETC,ETC,MAYBE IF THIS GAME WOULD OF CAME OUT IN '97 AROUND THE SAME TIME FRAME OF STREET FIGHTER ALPHA AND X-MEN VS STREET FIGHTER IT WOULD BE ALRIGHT.MANY REVIEWS SAY THE GAME IS OUTDATED IS BECAUSE CAPCOM MADE IT LOOKED OUTDATED.THE BEST STREET FIGHTER GAMES IN MY OPINION ARE STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 3 AND THIRD STRIKE AND THE BEST RIVAL GAME IS CAPCOM VS SNK 2. I DON'T LIKE SNK VS CAPCOM CHAOS BUT I RATHER PLAYED THAT OVER THIS. I DON'T CARE WHAT OTHER REVIEWERS SAY BELOW OR ABOVE ME ABOUT HOW GOOD THIS GAME IS,EITHER THEY JUST START PLAYING STREET FIGHTER OR THEIR NOT A TRUE STREET FIGHTER FAN BECAUSE THIS GAME IS NOT INNOVATIVED AT ALL AND CAPCOM WAS NOT UP TO THEIR FULL POTENTIAL ON THIS AND THEY DEFINITLY FELL OFF ON THIS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHERE'S THE REST OF THE GAME?!

THIS GAME DOESN'T EVOLVE AT ALL. I TOTALLY AGREE 100% WITH THE REVIEW THAT GAVE IT ONE STAR BUT I GIVE NO STARS! THIS GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE A CAPCOM'S EVOLUTION WITH INNOVATIVE 2-D GRPAHICS WITH TONS OF DIFFERENT CHARACTERS,OPTIONS,AND SUPPOSED TO BE BACK ON TOP TO GETTING GAME OF THE YEAR JUST LIKE CAPOCM VS SNK 2 BUT NOOOOOO! THIS GAME IS STRAIGHT GARBAGE! TRUE STREET FIGHTER FANS WOULDN'T MAKE EXCUSES LIKE TIGHT BUDGET,GLITCHES,SMALL ROSTER BALANCES GAME EASIER AND ALL OTHER NONSENSE STUFF! I JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS! ALL THEY CHARACTERS SHOULD BE IN THE GAME WERE IN THE BACKGROUND. ONE REVIEW SAID THE GRAPHICS WERE SNES,I SAY THEY WERE LIKE SEGA GENESIS. MARVEL VS CAPCOM WASN'T A SKILLED FIGHTING GAME AND OUT OF 56 PLAYERS A HAND FULL ARE PLAYABLE AND CAPCOM MADE THIS GAME TOB VERSATILE. BUT CAPCOM VS SNK 2 THERE ARE OVER 40 AND I CAN PLAY WITH AT LEASTS 30 AND IT IS A SKILLED FIGHTING GAME! THE REASON SOME PLAYERS OVER POWER IS BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO MAKE EVERY PLAYER LOSE AND TAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF ENERGY,THAT'S WHAT MAKE THE GAME DETAILED. FIGHTING EVOLUTION IS NOT WORTH GETTING FOR TRUE FANS AND IS DEFINITLY BORING! CAPCOM NEEDS TO FOCUS ON NEW THINGS SINCE THEY CAN'T GET FIGHTING GAME OF THE YEAR AWARD WITHOUT CRAPPY SNK'S HELP!

capcom, are you on drugs?!

I first played this game on the arcade and usually the screen is blurry because of adjustments and I knew there were only 20 something characters. So I thought the game was average and as usual I expect the home versions to have more options and secret characters but I was wrong! I rented this game yesterday and it's probably capcom's worst fighting game! The graphics are exactly like the arcade and the two other reviews gave it one star pretty much wraps it up! This game looks old and is extremly boring and might I add,TRASH!!!!!! I don't know why capcom wants to disappoint so many fans and let other 2-d fighting games past them up! This is suppose to be a game of a lot of capcom fighting characters come together sort of similar to King of Fighters but better! It says A TRIBUTE TO CLASSIC FIGHTING GAMES. What a tribute! I don't know if the guy that wrote "Great game if you know what purpose it serves" was drunk when he wrote that or just started playing Street Fighter. I'll avoid and protect yourself from this game like it was a dangerous and rare disease that breaks out every 8 or 9 years since the last bad street fighter game was around that time and it was Street Fighter EX part one.

A Game Gear game for my TV? WOW!

I expected higher quality from CAPCOM and was very disappointed. One of the best features of fighting games is the beautiful detailed artwork. This game seems like they took sprites straight from a game gear game. The horrendous graphics were too distracting to even notice the gameplay, but I bought that game an hour ago and I'm done with it. I just bought the Darkstalkers game for the PS1, thought, so I'm looking forward to that.

bad game

unfortunately, this game is not that waiting. bad graphics, slowness and other defects of the game, you are getting bored almost immediately. I do not recommend

Missing major characters

No Cammy from Street Fighter and no Morrigan from Darkstalkers. How lame! Plus Bison doesn't do his slide kick anymore. Maybe Playstation should just come out with seperate collections of each fighting game with every character they ever had.

A big disappointment really....

I mean don't get me wrong, the game's fun. The characters movements are smooth, the music and sounds are addictive, and the fighters are just as you would remember them if you ever played the original games they came from, maybe even better. My major complaint: not very many fighters to choose from. The fighters were taken from 5 different Capcom games plus an extra just for the game. 4 fighters from each game gives you 21 total. I was expecting about 2x as many honestly. I know that was probably expecting too much, but if they can throw in, what 54 fighters, art, plus like 6 crappy stages with annoying endless looping music in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, then I thought they could do something like that here. I guess I was wrong. Here you have 6 stages with awsome music, but no bonuses or extras. Some of my favorite Street Fighters only show up as spectators in the background. This game would have been alot better if there was more to it. It's a fun game, but you're gonna get tired of this one fast. My advice, if you're looking for a good Capcom 2-D fighter you'll probably be better off with Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

Something to add to your SF collection

This game is something to get if you're a Street Fighter fan. This game is missing some stuff, but it's a decent game. Get it only if you like SF games.

The game overall is OK. Though by making some points of how it is good and how it is bad will have influences on nmay other opinions.

The GOOOD
-Shin Akuma
-Varied Combo Bars
-$20.00

THE BAD
-Some fighters Lack Combos (ie: wheres Ryu's Shinku Tatsumaki?)
-only 21 fighters wow
-some super combos ex4ecute a few seconds later after the button commands
-Pyron is cheesy and so Is that Mummy Guy (lol)
-Where is Ken, Sagat, E. Honda, Blanka, and other Street Fighter Characters?

The Controls are balanced they keep the controls from these different capcom games. The Graphics r okay, they could have made the pallette better better and also ADDED some more PPL. the game play is fun.... especially if u USE Shin Akuma!!!

4 out of 5 for fun
3 out of 5 for overall

It could of been way better

Well first of all I love 2-D fighting games and I am especially fond of Capcom fighting games, While Fighting Evolution was fun after the first week of playing it I got bored fast for these reasons:
1. I dont like it when Capcom upgrades and downgrades some characters moves and there original playing systems from the original games they appeared in (especially the Third Strike characters).
2. There are not many modes of play in Fighting evolution. Usually I think there should be a survival mode in any fighting game and maybe some kind of customization mode, or at least Capcom could of come up with something original for this specific game so it can have some kind of sequel.
3. Most important of all the lack of characters! where is Ken in either Third Strike, Alpha, or 2. No diverse characters where is Vega, Blanka, Gen, Fei Long, Hugo, Makoto, Tailban, Donovan, or any other Red Earth character I am not aware of.

But there are still good things about this game like the orginal music for the characters and endings (Zangief I especially liked). Buy this game if you are only a fighting game fanatic.
