Wheel of time ROCKS!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 4

this game all out rocks. the sound quality may be cheesy but it rocks. join clans at: wotclans.com. Edit maps, protect citadels and have your own server for people to play on. Arena is cool:every man for them selves and citadel is even better: play on whichever team you want. THIS IS THE GAME TO HAVE.

Garbage, at least single-player

The visuals are fair, usually crude but occasionally inspired.

The gameplay is awful. A game with a theme like this should be about exploring (both levels and weapons), but the level design makes it impossible to explore, mostly due to the placement of enemies that you absolutely have to outrun. And you can't explore the weapons system because you never have the opportunity to try things out except during life-and-death struggles (although this may or may not have been a problem for people familiar with the novels, which I haven't read -- maybe the novels explain the weapons? ). The weapons system, with far too many weapons to use easily, is simply too clumsy to use.

The game should have been crafted into a tense, suspenseful, awe-inspiring adventure, like a sort of swords-and-sorcery Half-Life. Instead, it's a repetitive bore in which the designers committed a basic flaw of game level design: when it gets too dull, throw in an extremely-difficult-to-beat creature. That may be challenging, but it's not engaging, and since it wasn't engaging, I got bored and quit after a couple levels.

An incredible game!!

I am apalled at some of the negative reviews on this game. It combines spectacular graphics(It was built on the Unreal engine, so what else would you expect?) and a totally engrossing storyline. If you have a good top end graphics card that supports Direct 3d, then you are in for a spectacular journey in this game. The direct 3D mode of this game is absolutely breathtaking especially in certain levels. I have experienced no sluggishness at all with my Riva Tnt 2 Pro video card(a top end video card that is excellent). However those who choose to use the low end cards like the entire Voodoo series(the yugos of computer video cards), will not enjoy this or any other game because of all the sluggishness those cards produce frequently. I fully recommend this game to anyone who like me has waited for a a perfect blend of Role playing and fps games. The playabilty of this game is wonderful and it is a fun, challenging game as well. Enjoy!

The Continuation of the best Saga

I dont know about every one else who is reading this, but when I started reading the WHEEL OF TIME novels back in 1992, I got pulled into one of the best fantasy worlds I have ever read. I have been currently reading over and over again the mind boggling series that keeps me enchanted every time I read it. The one thing that I do not like is how such a wonderful writer can keep every one going like he hasand then not come out with anything for 2 more years. I am like every one else i have ever talked to, I want to know what is going to happen to Rand now that he has cleansed Saidin. Is he going to get over the sickness that has started to take him? Is there going to be a big battle that Elayne has to stop? And just who are her attackers? These are just a few of the Q's I have concerning the series. I would also like to know when the next book is coming out, or if there is even going to be a next book. Well I've spoken my piece about all of this. I hope mabey some Q's will get awnsered.

This game is really fun,but it would be a five star if you could play as Rand in single player mode.

The game was fairly tiresome most of the time. I suppose there were a few gripping moments, but the storyline was rather poor. The Magic system was good, and there were some cool moments like being able to levitate your enemies over your head and throw them off the tower wall. But there were problems with the AI and the monster men looked stupid. The game featured a group of witches that really should have been Holy Sisters, by the way they acted. What's with today's world? God forbid anyone have a chaste Nun as a heroine. No, instead we must have witch-sisters. The artwork wasnt bad, I'll give that to the game-makers. But this game overall doesnt come close to the excellent work done on something like Arx Fatalis. Better to save your money and get that instead.

Cool but Ive seen better

I agree with contacting "squaresoft" because the maker of this game just doesn't match squares experience.(although the game is still really good)I played my friends game (He let me use it so I had time beat it) but I can't find the darn game for myself.

I have a few choice words about this game

I think I got this as a Christmas or birthday present, anyway while they were giving directions, the game bugged and it was telling me to do a standing blast of magic or something, and my character started moving forward and it wouldn't stop. It sounds like my problem was unique, but even without this bug, I wasn't too impressed by this game. First of all, it would be better off following the book's plot, but from what I remember it was mostly campaigns (I didn't get very far, as I tried to return the gift only to have the people at Walmart say, "we're sorry but we don't return PC games"). I also don't remember having normal attacks, it was all ranged stuff, and combat system was a bit crummy. First-person mode is totally inapropriate for a story game, third person [like FFVII] would have been far more fitting.

Beware

I was enjoying the game, but halfway through, it would "windows error" and not proceed to the next level. After much time with GT tech support, the best they could recommend was reloading the game and starting from scratch. Buyer beware.

Fact or Fiction?!

respectively, this game fits the requirements to fit a gamer/nerds needs. This game combinds fantasy novels with 1st person shooting mode. If you are bored and don't have lots of friends, then this is your game.I'm not a loser but i had a gift certificate to amazon so why not? Thank You?
