Very Addictive and Fun

BOTTEM LINE: One of the best war/strategy games of the year. LIKES: Graphics are great. There are a number and diverity of units, each has a different health and strength. This game is not one were you just rush your opponent, try it and you loose every time. There is stratagy and a kind of cat and mouse direction to winning. You have to use your officers and snipers to get extended battlefield views, but your riflemen to knock out what you see. Hit and fall back. Playablility is very easy but realistic. DISLIKES: My three biggest dislikes are 1. When directing units from one point to another they don't travel the way you would go, they wonder onto the battlefield. (The game does have a way point set and pause while commanding function, to make your units go very specified directions but for each unit is time consuming). 2. It would be nice to have a campaign game similuar to Close Combat 3 or 4 where you can either purchase core units and take them through out the game or at least choose your own units from a list of units. 3. I wish someone would make a campaign game with direction, if you win you advance, lose and fall back, not just a compilation of senerios as with this game. FINAL THOUGHTS: This is a game for network play. I can't say enough about how this game plays via network. The tactics and stratagy with a human on the other side makes this game really great. Overall I would highly recommend this game.

Real Game for real generals

Good game for most people love war game especially in WWII. Only one thing can be improved is the Panzer/Tank seens to be too weak at tall. Anti-tank Pak becomes the main role in this game. But for any people who like Air-force, sorry, there is no space to explain, Heers only. On strategy level, this game demands you alot, always think before act. Otherwise, you'll have a BBQ of your troops. In addition, it's a real situation for General like you, cos no production cost or worries on resources. All u need to know is how to use your troops to win. I left only 3 soldiers but still completed the mission. See how cool is it!

This Game RULES!!!!

If you like RTS games than you have to get this WW2 game. It is soo cool. I mean there is sooo many different types of infantry and tanks. You can get snipers, flame throwers, panzerfaust rocket launchers, ect. Plus there are millions of tanks. You can even call in air strikes or paratroopers. There is also millions of different stratagy's you can use to defeat the enemy. You can even build pontoon bridges too come behind them. In Short BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!

I think that this game is great! The graphics are awsome and it's addicting. The only thing that I don't like are the dumb sounds that the men make when there getting healed. For example: ohhhhhhh, or eeeeeeeeeee! I think they should fix that! Other than that it is an awsome game!

The best strategy game!

I thought this game was an excellent simulation of WWII. It is easy to play and it will be a classic. It has great graphics compared to games like command and conquer. You can even have multiplayer games with your friends. The only reason why I didn't give sudden strike 5 stars is because after playing a few missions in the campaign mode, it gets boring and you feel like you must turn the computer off. After a while, you feel like you have to play it again and you are not bored any more. Sudden strike got 4 stars from me and it deserved it.

Pretty, but no brains.

The Amazon review of this game is accurate. You may get a cast of hundreds in this game, but the gameplay is simple and routine. If you're looking for a game with large numbers of combatants, try Shogun: Total War. For WW II, the Close Combat series (especially CC III) remains the best tactical game out there.

Big Disapointment

I have my own rule when it comes to buying new games. Never buy the game without playing the demo first. I violated that rule on this one and boy, do I regret it.

If you have never played a strategy game before, or perhaps if you have not played anything since the first SimCity came out, this will seem like it's great. But. . . after Starcraft, Age of Empires, and Empire Earth, this is downright pedantic. The graphics are adequate, the AI is terrible, the gameplay is awkward, words are misspelled, navigating the menus is a pain, and the instruction manual is barely enough to get started.

If you want to play a good strategy game, get Empire Earth and set it to WWII if that is what you are desperate to play. If you want to play a realistic wargame, get Operational Art of War. If you want to find out how many half-truths can be written on the side of a software box, get this one.

I recommend you don't.

DO Not BUY ! (What a waste)

This game sucked. It was slow and uninteresting.

- The interface was awkward - motion and characters were user UNfriendly - it was not addictive nor captured my attention in the slightest - this seemed like low budget, small plot type of game

Please don't wate your money. There are so many better games at the same price.

Lates, jules.

Don't believe the hype

Some people sing this game's praises, but the fact is that poor pathfinding, an utter lack of realism (infantry squads can destroy entire tank columns, B-17s fly close air support,...), and brain-dead AI make this game an exercise in frustration for most game players. Players new to gaming might enjoy the game's graphics and large number of available units, but the game's weaknesses will soon wear on them as well.

THIS GAME ROCKS!

I have not played many WW2 games, but I can tell this is one of the best. It's pretty hard without codes but even when you are invincible it's real fun. Very good graphics.
