Stinks, stinks, stinks!

I have played many RTS games in my day, and let me tell you, this game stinks. It has the crappiest interface that I've ever seen. The graphics are pretty good, but you can only get by with pretty graphics for so long. This could have been a MUCH better game if Lucas Arts hadn't blown it with the trashy interface. Its no fun to play because you spend all your time fiddling with the camera views. I get so frustrated with the stupid camera that the game is no longer fun. If you've never played a great RTS, you might not mind it, but after playing Starcraft and Age of Empires (I & II) I can't stand the way this games works.

Slop

Dreadful cut scenes, wierd David Lynch music whilst being briefed and a pathetic interface. What is the point in that camera flexibility when you can only play it from one view? Really bad. I keep trying to play it, I really do, but to no avail.

LucasArts really blew it

This one goes over like a Wookie coughing up a fur ball. Glitzy cutscenes do little to mask the extremely poor interface and design of this megaflop. Do not buy it now. It will be in the bargain bins in a few weeks.

Better wait for Earth 2150 !

Hi,

I bought Force Commander and I must commit that I am quite dissapointed. Although I am real SW-Fan, the game engine is totally out of date. I would suggest for every one looking for 3D rts games to download the demo of earth2150. This seems to be an awesome game. Three parties instead of two. cycling day/night cycles/teather-effects/terrain-effects/own unit construction. And the controls are much easier to learn then in FC.

Very Disappointed

Maybe I'm not one to talk, but this game was so terrible that I almost cried. First of all, the graphics are not at all great. Then the controls are messed up. Next there's the realism factor. Ground troops can destroy AT-AT's without much trouble, and that makes no sense. I have a list of other problems, but due to the number of curses on it, they probably wouldn't let me put it on the net. So in conclusion, Lucasarts can do a much better job.

ALL Bark, ZERO bite.

This game is the typical "grab headlines and not deliver" that I'm coming to expect from Lucasarts. This is an RTS 2 years behind in Technology. I've never understood how the Empire couldn't have a battlefield mapped, yet the "ZERO FIELD OF VISION" persists in this game. The controls are twitchy, and the graphics are can't even compete with lower class RTS games like Metal Fatigue. I bought the game b/c I'm a fan, but I'd rather spend my time reading the novels than play this poorly done amateurish shrink wrapped goop.

Buy Starcraft instead of this

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and was excited to play ForceCommander.....but I'm glad my friend bought it instead of me. Theinterface, as other reviews say, is horrible. And the graphics are just as bad (the movie scenes are good....but those are 5% of the game). I played this for a whole evening, hoping it would get better and it didn't. Starcraft has a much better interface and graphics.

Not worth the money

I was eagerly anticipating the release of this game. My system more than meets the hardware requirements, but I must say that it's hard to enjoy a game when it continually locks up less than 3 minutes into playing it. Save your money!

A Devoted Star Wars Fan who Thinks this Game is Terrible

CNET GameCenter gave Force Commander barely 3 starts out of 10. That's one of the worst scores I've seen GameCenter dish out. The game has received near universal bad reviews. I bought Force Commander before it came out on March 20 and played it before I read the reviews, so my opinion is not affected by any reviews: Apart from the Star Wars background, this game has poor entertainment value relative to other RTS games. The camera handling and interface is awful! Look at the screenshots: the interface is a gigantic black box taking up almost a third of the screen. The graphics are blocky and dated--especially the humanoid figures. The AI is substandard (imagine all your units bumping into each other like a pinball machine for several seconds trying to get thru a narrow passage--and there's a lot of narrow passages by the way; meanwhile they're being picked off by enemy units) ....

Only believe this review...

This game is really terrible anddissapointing. First of all, everyone you see who has given it 4 or 5stars is a Star Wars zealot who is unwilling to admit that the master could create trash like this. The graphics don't compare with any halfway decent game out there, the Storm Troopers casually walk and shoot like they're on a parade ground, Banthas tip over like they're boxes, the control set-up was made by a sadist, and the cut scenes seem as if they were written by children. I stopped playing this game on the first day I bought it, and started playing Risk II, a more mundane, but more enjoyable experience.
