This is a low-quality game with bad controls, terrible camera angle (you can't see far enough ahead), decent (but blocky) graphics, Excellent sound, A limp plot, and all around bad game. If you're a fan of Star Wars, you can find many better games for your money.

Poorly Executed

This game had a lot of potential, no matter how lame the movie may have been. The graphics were good (especially the lighting efects), but the polygonal characters... frankly, they stank. I know Lucas Arts can produce MUCH better titles than this, after having played Jedi Knight and Pod Racer I know it's possible. But this one was rushed to the point of releasing on beta level! The sounds were great, just as most of the other Lucas Arts games are. They are usually pulled straight out of the movie. The most annoying aspect of the game was the camera angle. What were they thinking! You could barely see in front of you. It would have been better for a completely overhead view, than that annoying angle, in which you couldn't see twenty feet. Anyway... I'm not even going to waste my time writing about a game I was sorely disapointed with.

A waste of money

I am disappointed with this software. 7 of ten trials to run it have frozen my system. I have a very capable computer with a an 866MHz processor, 256MB ram and 32MB Gforce nvidia AGP CARD. The game should certainly work but it always ends up frozen. All other games work wonderfully. Many times you can't even start the game as it freezes in the introduction. Take heed!

decent game....

Phantom Menace isn't really anything spectacular -- the graphics are decent, story is alright, and general game play is fun just for killing time. Overall, the qualities of The Phantom Menace would have justified a 3 star....but hey, its Star Wars, so I've got to give it a 4.

Cool game!

Whats cool about this game is that it has puzzels that are hard but not to hard. The fighting is easy after you learn a few skills like back up to the corner when the enemy charges at you! The only level i really got stuck on was the gungan one, i did get stuck on the last level but isn't that what last levels are for?

Graphics 3 stars
Ok during the game but the movies are almost as good as the film.

Sound 4 stars
Good music but i get kind of sick of the same people talking saying the samething.

Gameplay 5 stars
Gameplay is awesome

This game is the best. You get to be Obi wan, qui-gon, Panaka, and queen amidala. the gameplay is awesome, the graphics are perfect, and the a.i. is good. the only problem is that it is simple to beat darth maul in the final battle. I bought this game and i played it over and over again. All star wars fans must have this game!

It's a game. But the acting is no worse than the movie so I give it one extra star because you can do stuff, not just sit there and watch the lousey acting. "Qui gon, I have a bad feeling about dis" Well, it's kinda fun, I guess. You get to whack things with yer light-saber which sounds much like the movie and the other sound effects/background ambience are excellent in my opinion. Music even better. Gameplay OK. Graphics are not the best for now but very good for 1999. You want a good Episode I game, try Racer.

Hard, but not fun

This game is super hard the first time around. Then, when you beat it, and go for another try it is sooo easy. You can get through 1/2 the game in an hour, because almost all of it is puzzles, so when you figure them out after 1/2 an hour next time it takes 1 minite. Also i found it fristating that there are no big fights, where you can fight about 20 battle droids. The biggest, funnest fight is in the very beggining, when you are up against 6 battle droids. If Lucas Arts had put in a few more units, and better levels, this game would be worth buying, but as it is it is not all that good.

its alright

Its got its hard parts and its got its easy parts. Kinda better then the "horrible compared to what I expected" movie, but not by much
