A good adventure game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 4 / 5

There weren't enough levels in this game and the graphics where too 2D in some parts. Other than that it's a great game. The action is great and the storyline is pretty good. However Mos Espa is too confusing and Darth Maul is too easy both times you fight him. The game also needed to stay closer to the movie. Other than that it's a great game.

I thought that this was definitely the BEST Star Wars game ever! The different characters, bartering (Watto's Shop), the graphics! Definitely a 5 star game. Played for hours and going strong!

I'm a huge star wars fan, but even I found this game to be a dissapointment. The Graphics and sound are well done, but the game has caused me more frustration than enjoyment due to poorly implemented controls and camera angles. If you're looking for pretty graphics (and star wars, of course) then buy this title, but don't expect to get very far without hours of frustrating game time.

Great game

I really enjoyed this game. It had many impressive weapons,as well as the tactics used to deploy them. Have no fear, parents. This game dishes out dire consequences if the kids start killing innocent sentience, meaning that you can't go on a killing rampage and live to tell about it. This game has a moderate amount of solvable puzzles, and bosses that will keep you interested. The only puzzle that will have you throw the computer out the window is the trading in the Mos Espa level. I like a challenge. It personally didn't bother me, but the graphics had flaws(most of which I found humourous). For example, if you try to talk to someone with your lightsaber up, as you talk, your saber will be coming out the back of the person's head, without harming them. My only disapointment is that there is no lightsaber dueling. You get into a fight with Darth Maul, on several occasions, but you can't block his saber, and visa-versa, which means it is a bloodbath(figure of speech, there is no blood)between the two of you. It is true that the final battle with Maul is somewhat easy, but that is what the skill codes are for. In short, if your looking for a good game without needless killing, this is it. As for replayability, I've had The Phantom Menace for two years, and I still play it.

One of the BEST Star Wars Games Ever Released!

I, personally, think that this game should have been place in the Hall of Frame for Star Wars Games. I played a lot of Star Wars games, however, I found only some that could unleashed that spirit of the movies, and Phantom Manace is included as well.

I really feel that I am in the movie, the graphics & sounds are superb, second-to-none in this kind of game... the control is fine (in fact, I used a keyboard to play this one, not a joypad).

However, this game is quite easy, I think it would be much be better to include more scence in the game, which will make it longer & more replay value.

A word to Lucas Arts, games like this one for New Hope, Empire Strike Back and Return of the Jedi !

I don't know what all the fuss is about! The movie Episode I is possibly the best of all 4 so far, and the game is better than a good portion of the many, many games based upon the original trilogy. You get to be 4 characters, which each have their own unique qualities. Although there are some boring parts of the game and there are some tricky spots, the game is fantastic and allows for many hours of gameplay. Lucasarts has done it again. Some people say the parts on Tatooine are so boring, but its not that bad, they have to stick to the story pretty closely, and in the movie, Tatooine isn't the best part, I mean stop trying to pick on it! IT IS A SWEET GAME (especially for the price of 20 bucks!) This game may not be as good as Jedi Knight or Shadows of the Empire, but it definately ranks close and it is a great game to add to your computer game collection.

TPM: Great fun, but once you've beat it, it's over.

This game is just great fun. I highly recommend this for the PC gamers who are like me and were really ticked off when Microsoft put Obi-Wan on the Xbox instead of the PC. In The Phantom Menace (TPM)you spend most of the game as Obi-Wan, wielding a lightsaber and cutting into droids (Much fun!). However, there is more to the game then cutting down battle droids. (You can use this excuse to get your parents to buy you the game) You have to solve brain-stimulating (wink, wink) puzzles and navigate through 11 levels of challenges, and in some levels, you hardly need to draw a weapon at all.
Unfortunetly, like the film, it has a downside. There is, of course, Jar Jar Binks, the most annoying creature in the galaxy. (It's fun to get him with a saber) Also, when you get to the end and beat Darth Maul, that's it, the game is over. And unless you want to keep playing it over and over and over and over again (which I do), you're going to get bored quickly.
So, all in all, TPM is a great game, it just needs to be a little longer.

SO much fun, besides the bugs, that you'll play it till 1 AM

The graphics weren't the best, but hey, the game was LONG. My favorite levels were the last level ones w/ the Queen(when she has weapons) and w/ Obi-Wan when he tries to reach Qui-Gon and Darth Maul. One thing that I didn't like was the Otoh-Gunga(?) level where if you kill one stupid Gungan you get attacked by all of them. Also every once in a while, you run into some bugs(the computer ones)and then you have to restart your game a lot. The Darth Maul duels were pretty easy too, once you know what you're doing. For anyone stuck on any part of this game I suggest looking up game guides on the internet.
In my opinion, this game is worth the money. So quit staring at the screen and buy it already!
