I've waited for a good Next Gen game to come out, and I was not at all disappointed. I enjoyed watching as an amazing story unfolded before my eyes. It was a good storytelling, action packed, and a thinking game all rolled into one. To those of you who were mentioning the Borg being too powerful...that's what they are. It was refreshing to see that not everyone was on equal footing, otherwise where would the challenge be in playing as the three empires against the overwhelming horde of Borg. I hope that everyone gets as much thrill out of this adventure as I did.
This Game Rocks!

Alright heres the skiny... THIS GAME KICKS A$$. It combines the best elements from some of the most succesful RTS games out there. It has Graphics better than TA, the replayablity and species diversity of Star Craft, unit balancement of Age of Empires, and the unique research tree of Home World. All of these great atributes combined with a great spell casting system make this game one of the best RTS's out there (even for non-trekkers).
First good Trek game.

I have to admit, it does look a whole lot like StarCraft, except has a whole lot more bugs. But it is a GOOD game. Despite the lack of single player missions, and a storyline, the multiplayer functionality is quite good. I gave this game up for Diablo II pretty quick, but not after a good 2 weeks or so of a good time playing.
But, the price seems a bit steep.

I've had no luck at all getting this game to run. My system meets or exceeds all of the recommended requirements; still the game locks up constantly! This was a poor marketing decision on the part of Activsion--the game is incompatible with too many system configurations to be enjoyed. I've read many message boards claiming that the available patches do nothing but reduce the graphics and sound qualities of the game. And those were the few that the patch actually worked for! A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY! Spend your $45 on something else!
Would have been a cool game expect.

Start, play for five minutes, then CRASH. Norton SystemWorks couldn't handle those. I hope they have patches soon.
Be careful

This game can be fun, only if you have one of those top 3D machines and a brand new computer with everything on it. My computer, only 3 months old, didn't work with this game. It freezes very often, but from what I saw, if you have what it takes, it can be fun. Just make sure 1st.

doeasn't need a patch, not buggy, just excellent (Win98, runs on Me as well, and therefore XP too). Lots of fun, long hours of gameplay, adddictive. Can go back and play other levels over that you mde it through and won already. CAn alt clickl or double click and hold and drag for close-up veiws of anything . Better than Armada II. Easy, once you get the hang of it. Plannig and strategy wins the game. Manufacture what you need with resouces. Fun to rescue damaged ships and repair them. Save the Steamruner class ships at all costs; they are the best for long-distance assaults ansd you cannot make them.

"The game crashes while playing in windows xp", it only happened with me twice.
Life span of the game is defiantly short. The story line is perfectly imitative from the original star trek series.
If you are a star trek fan, you will enjoy it. As for me, I'll continue with Starcraft and hope that a game is released soon.
a good game that takes some getting used to

I didn't like this RTS game that much; I'm used to playing Dune and it really made sense; the Armada game is different and will take some getting used to. There are more controls than there needs to be and the screen is cluttered with several sub-screens (which can be turned on/off). The intermission sometimes appears to interupt game play rather than happening after a battle takes place (and the battles seem rushed sometimes...when I'd like to have a chance to explore the surroundings a little). I recommend Emperor: Battle for Dune instead.
ehhh a big disapointment

I'm a big real time strategy fan, and when i saw that star trek came out with a game that gives me the power to create and command ships in that way,i was excited. when i finally got it it was filled with nothing but disapointments. first you'd think four different races from the galaxy would be different to use no. they're all the same, just a few cheesy special weapons. the ships look great but my opinion they should be a bit larger, i mean i have a hard time finding my scouters they're so small. the missions are very easy, any starcraft veteran as myself can set up a few defenses and rest easy. another problem is destroying your enemy, it takes forever! i've played star trek armada 2 and they're is such a huge difference. graphics are solid though. but i recommend to buy the sequel you get way more ships, which i really dont understand why you get so few in the first.
