Got One!
Star Trek Elite Force can get jumpy and takes a while to load each level but is an action packed strategy action adventure you name it game you get to fight dozens of species like the pesky borg, horogon, species 8472 the graphics are great and the music is great I think that both Star Trek Armada and Star Trek Elite Force are two really good games for trekkers this is a Kick --- game and it almost feels like your there on the USS Voyagers bridge or on in the assimilation chamber in a borg sphere. It's a great game. The hardest thing other than the game play is probably the controls but other than that its great and the game isn't short its pretty long and its action packed just like a real star trek game should be.
Awesome...but...

Armada is totally awesome. graphics are very well made. Unlike most games that has overhead view of the playing field, you go on the level of the playing field... as space is. It is a very good Star Trek game and well worth the game. For me, it has tendcy to crash and lock up in game in multiplayer mode. Single player mode, it never crashed or locked up. There is also dozens of MODS to add ships and plays to downloadd maps. I am awaiting a update to fixed the bugs in it myself.
Resistance is most definately FUTILE! :)

I loaded it up and the next thing I know it was 6 hours later. A most thoroughly enjoyable game. The FMV sequences are amongst the best I have seen, and the inclusion of the actors voices puts the finishing touches on the game. Just beware of the Borg cube rush tactic in multiplayer.
Excellent Game

Armada is definitely one of the best Star Trek games ever released. The gameplay, graphics, and sound is superb and as long as you have plenty of RAM you won't have to worry too much about the game freezing up or shutting down on you. I've had similar problems to the reviewers below and I would recommend that you check the minimum requirements carefully. Like most PC games the minimum requirements usually isn't enough to enjoy smooth gameplay. I've since upgraded my RAM in my PC and I haven't seen any problems with the game whatsoever.
On-line game is a never ending treat.

Been playing this game since it came out 5-6 months ago and still going strong. It's a great on-line game but it's also a resource demanding one. And once you get rid off the glitches(get patch1.2 from Activision) it's simply a joy to play. There's also a on-line board to help people solve different problems with this game. Just search "armada" from yahoo. The on-line community is not big but it includes newbies, intermediate and skilled. If you really want to be good at it, I suggest you joining a clan where you learn new tricks fast.
For myself, I go by screen name Gen.Zhukov and yes, it's also my strategy. When you see 100 some my Klingon Warbird rushing into your base, you know IT'S A GOOD DAY TO DIE!
The best game!

This is an awesome game. Period. It has great graphics, great sound, everything. It has a somewhat small campaign, but internet play and an instant action mode make up for it. In instant action, you can play one of the 4 races (Federation, Klingons, Romulans, & Borg) and almost totally customize yor game. Other races in the game that you fight include Cardassions, Dominion, Ferengi, and Breen (you can take their ships over!). Many special tools released from Activision make it even better. You can download a map editor to make your own map and things of that sort.
As for pathing problems, that's what patches are for :-) Really low-end computers can have trouble with the game. I don't have a graphics card and unless I have tons of ships firing at the same time, I have minimal lagging.
It's truly a great game, essential, not only for a Trekkie, but also for a gamer. Really keeping me on my toes for Armada 2 (Winter 2001).
Awsome Game

The automatic rating system prdicted I would give Star Trek Armada 4 stars... but they where wrong... I Give it 5 stars. Out of all the Star Trek Games I have Purchased this is definitly the best one I own or will ever own if star trek armada 2 is'nt better:) Because compared to this game every other Star Trek Game is Garbage,Trash, and worthless. All Star Trek Fans would love this game. But, if your not a Star Trek Fans it doesnt matter, because you dont need to know anything about star trek to play it, it's just plain fun! Also if your a Star Craft Fan like me you will enjoy all the same ideas incorperated into it. Another Great thing is that it has an awsome single player campain mode and single player against the comeputer on what map you want, or you can play on line... and what I like best about it is that you can play in any game you want even if you have a 56K modem like me you wont be put in a seperate group:) So if your a Star Trek fan looking for a good Star Trek game, or just looking for a good game to purchase, this definitly is the game you want.
P.S. note: Sadly, I lost te Star Trek Armada CD I purchased in 2000 but im definitly going to buy a new one no question about it.
Few problems, nothing serious

The few problems that there are, few could be noticed, except by Trekkies. For one thing, you can build Akira, Steamrunner, and Soverign ships, but, where are the Galaxy and Intrepid ships? Most of the Star Trek movies' plots feature time travel prominently, so why repeat that here? And, it bothers me that you have to beat it as the Federation before being allowed acess to any other race. But, overall, this game has good graphics, good sound, good gameplay, and the storyline has continuity. An excellent game, but, if you don't have it already, wait for Armada II. I've heard that the problems mentioned above will probably be fixed.
Awesome game

This game is one of the best out there! I find myself not really happy with most games but this one is an exception. The actual game senario is most challenging with lots of advisaries. The game is something that will keep you hooked for a long time. I enjoy plahying other people online to match your whits. I am simply saying this is one of the best games out there!
