Playing this game seems more like a chore at times than fun. The game would be much more fun if you didn't have to keep taking a nap and bathroom/shower breaks every few minutes. It gets addictive and you will spend huge amounts of time performing tiny amounts of in game activity.
If you have lots of time and don't mind tedious games... then have at it!
It was a bit too tedious and repetitive for my taste.

Oh goodness. This was a big disapointment of the sims games. The graphics are very sad. This is a DS for crying out loud! They could do better. Making relationships with other citizens is very boring. The Women like to talk about fashion and money, and the guys like to talk about sports and cars. This requires hit the "a" but repeatedly over & over until you cant take it anymore. There are some fun mini games, but you don't really have a job. If you come across this game, leave it there. However, if you are a really good fan of the series, you should pick it up anyways. The Urbz: The Sims made a fluke...
NOT A SIMS GAME!

I'll be the first to admit, the marketing got me. I thought this game was a Sims equivelent, and unfortunatly I was wrong. This game, as innovative as it is, is just not fun. You are a character who has gotten kicked out of the building that you were working for and are forced to make a living on the streets. You work your way to the top so you can stop this evil scheme. Wow.. that sounds like fun? This game just wasn't for me. Like any Sims-type game, you have those stats (bathroom, hygeine, sleep), and they go down far to quickly, you just don't have time to enjoy anything. I'm sorry, but this wasn't a good game. I would definitly not reccomend it.
FUN, BUT NOT WORTH BUYING

THIS GAME IS NOT VERY GOOD. THERE ARE 5 REASONS BEHIND THAT:
1. STATUS BARS (BATHROOM, FOOD, HYGINE, ETC.) GO DOWN WAY TOO QUICKLY FOR PEOPLE TO REALLY ENJOY THE GAME AND HAVE FUN DOING IT.
2. STORY LINE IS EXTREMELY STUPID. YOU ARE AN ADULT OR TEENAGER GETTING KICKED OUT OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING. THERE IS SOME DUDE NAMED "DADDY BIGBUCKS" WHO IS PLANNING AN EVIL SCEME AND YOU, OBVIOUSLY, HAVE TO STOP IT
3. ITEMS HAVE A REALLY POOR CHOICE IN SOME AREAS. YOU HAVE TO LIVE HERE IN "X" TO GET "Y" ITEMS. HOW STUPID IS THAT?!
4. PLANNED OUT VERY POORLY. THE EVENTS IN THE GAME EITHER HAPPEN ALL AT ONCE, OR ONE AT A TIME. SOMETIMES THEY ARE REALLY RANDOM SUCH AS WHEN YOU GET DIRECTIONS TO GO TO A MUSEUM AND PURCHASE SOME STATUE. THIS HAS ABSOLUTLY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME AND FURTHER MORE, IS TOO MUCH LIKE A DISNEY GAME.
5. CHARACTERS HAVE WEIRD VOICES. WHEN YOU ARE WALKING AROUND, YOU WILL SEE SOME OTHER PLAYERS (COMPUTER) JUST STANDING THERE. WHEN YOU GO AND TALK TO THEM, THEY MAKE WEIRD NOISE, AND ACTIONS ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU SAY. THEY MIGHT SAY "MWAAAAA?" OR "JASDTASDPOASJ!!!"
BOTTOM LINE: THIS IS A FUN GAME, IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, AND HAS A VERY STUPID STORYLINE.
PRICE: REASONABLE
Fun but buggy

I've had fun playing this game but it's a bit tedious and has too many bugs. One of the rep goals can not be completed because of the bug with the trashpiles. The pet show game freezes my DS everytime my pet is the winner. But worst of all there is a bug near the end of the game. For some the bug at the end makes the game lock up but for others like me it won't let their pet through and electric fence.
Now I have to stop playing or start a new URB. I've NEVER had a gameboy game with bugs in it and I've been playing them since the original system came out. I've come to expect excellent quaility from Nitendo and Nintendo Licensed games, but this game disappoints
.

The Sims Urbz is a game that combines the features of the Sims(everyday
living obligations) plus the Rpg games of the 80s(Think of Kings Quest). It is set in a NYC type of environment. Your mission, whatever group you choose, is to foil the plans of Daddy Big Bucks.
What I like:
1. You can save your progress.
2. Unlike the other simulation games that use the DS platform (think Nintendogs), if you want to lay off for a few days, fine; you can pick up where you left off. There is no dehydrated and starving Sim to worry about.
3. It has a Kings Quest format. I enjoyed that game on PC.
What I didn't like:
1. The instruction manual is not complete. There is nothing about saving the game or placing an item in your living quarters, for instance. I had to figure this out through trial and error.
2. Unlike Sims 2 for DS you cannot play with another DSer.
3. Does everybody have to use inner city lingo?
Nintendo DS is supposed to have better graphics...

But you'ld never know it from looking at this game! The Urbz for Nintendo DS is nothing but the GBA version with the feature of having the screen on the bottom available. That is my complaint with this game.
Otherwise it's basically The Sims Bustin Out for GBA re-done for a big city. I still am enjoying the game, as it gives me something else to play on my DS, but I've found the game play hasn't changed all that much from the previous game.
If you're a new DS owner and you're looking for a game to take advantage of all the DS's power, I would suggest you look elsewhere in the limited selection of games for the DS. If you're a Sims Platform fan, you'll enjoy having the ability to take your Sims on the road much easier then you could before.
this game is strange

this game is definetly among the strangest games ever, your guy is always acting cool and talking about his house being a "crib".
But the music is good for a handheld and the minigames are fun, also people i nthe game tell jokes, but the story is cool. Daddy bigbucks is trying to ruin everyones life by giving everything expensive fees.
How will he do that? by buying sim city! he's that rich, has funny hair and you have to stop him. there's no shooting i n this game and I would not reccomend it.
good, but basically the same as the gameboy advance version

I loved this game on the gameboy sp, so I assumed it would be bumped up a couple notches for the high-powered DS version. Truth is, it is really the same game with the same graphics. Does not tap into the power of the Nintendo DS at all. The only tangible advantage is you get the dual screen action...other than that it is the same game.

While the game is really compelling and hard to put down, you need to have a lot of background knowledge to really appreciate it.
