Fun Game!

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 2 / 2

This game is awesome! It's like Kung-fu fighting mixed w/ max paine, GTA and need for speed all in one! The missions are fun and theres almost endless gameplay. You can complete the set missions or bust street crimes. If you like the mindless GTA style bloodbath then theres some of that too! You can go on killing rampages w/ the awesome bullet time(Max Paine,Dead to Rights). You can roam around the city of LA while jacking citizens cars and speeding around corners causing chaos. All of this of course will give u a bad cop rating. But you can do good deeds(busting criminals w/ out killing them and not killing civilians)to earn a good cop rating. The graphics are average(cmon,2d trees!?)and the music is cool. Most of the game is very realistic untill you get to the later levels. Dragons, Zombies, Magic? Last time i checked this wasn't a fantasy game. I guess i've talked enough so i'd just like to say 1 more thing... Buy this game! Tons of fun!

i've been lookin up this game alot, when it comes out you defenitely will want it. If there is a game to compare this to, it has to be GTA vice city. But in this game you r not the BADGUY like in GTA, your a wacko COP! but, you can still do as you wish because you are no longer on the force. (the real cops still give you recognition, wich is good.)The story is said to be very intriguing as you try to take down mob organizations and other randomly selected crimes. yayaya, whatever! the nice part is that if you fail a mission it wont just end, and you wont just start over, it simply starts another branch to the story or your mission. enough about that, wat about the gameplay? well unlike GTA there is a much more bigger deal about the fighting part of it. there are several different martial arts and pro wrestling fighting styles you have to learn. as for cars they are just as good as GTA. No word on the bikes yet. Instead of stealing a car you will simply show your badge to take over a civilians vehicle, or you can buy them the honest way. For guns it is a much different than GTA. you cant just hold down the aim and fire button to take out a group of people. (dont worry) you will go firing ranges to learn that type of stuff. Hopefully there will be lots of cheats for this game. that is one of the best things about GTA. sound effects and voiceovers r great.(i seen a movie already) GRaphics should be oustanding, much beter than GTA since its on XBOX. wow i wrote a lot here, im getting tired. LOL!

This game was so intriging! the graphics are so realistic and they make you feel like your the mobster. this game has a few bugs which should be noted: sometimes if you have been playing to long the game will freeze and you will need to restart your xbox. then there are just minor glitches. the sound is so amazing! if you rip tracks on to the game you will have a blast! if you like blowing up buildings and shooting peoples heads off, you need to buy this game. this game brings a lot of new consepts to the gaming industry(sex, drug use, violence) but it has too keep up. so i tell you to go out there and buy this game and never let your friends play with it.

GTA Vice is the way to go here. Honest it's much better

One word. This game sucks. I wasted $50 bucks. I only hope I can sell in on Ebay. the game play is boring and the cars look phony. There's really nothing to do that's entertaining after 2 hours of play. Why do I need all those bones to only unlock Snoop for 1 hour. That's B.S. ! You should be allowed to play the whole game as either character. The game play and graphics are 100 times better on Vice City. Learn from my mistake get GTA Vice first and leave this game on the shelf.

True Crime does give players free-form gameplay; you can go anywhere, anytime, add to the fact that the maps are huge, random side missions and you have a decent experience playing the game. And this is True Crime's real fault, where your good/bad cop rating is constantly sliding back and fourth. You can kill an innocent by-stander, and lower your rating to bad cop. A few seconds later if you catch a criminal, you'll get
a good cop rating, the logic holes are annoying. They should just let you pick which one you want to be from the start of the game. This game also has clipping problems; you'll see characters fall through walls or cars, and worse sometimes get stuck to objects! The controls are horrid and unresponsive making missions seem more difficult than they should be. The sound effects are crappy and the action in fighting or driving sequences lack excitement. The fighting engine is watered down and you end up doing the same moves over and over. The driving engine, does not convey a good sense of speed.

Pros:
+good graphics
+free-form gameplay
+awesome soundtrack
+good voice-acting

Cons:
-bad cop/good cop system implemented poorly
-bad controls
-clipping problems
-cheap sound effects
-driving is boring
-fighting engine sucks
-the cars are not fast enough
-empty LA city
-difficult to shoot/aim
-bullet time poorly executed
-story not interesting
-not really like GTA

this game was simply a vice city in LA there was nothing really special about it at all. i would not even recomend renting this game

Deeply flawed, but great action makes up for it

True Crime is a great game, though it falls just short of being a masterpiece.

You take your miscellaneous idiot cop through the streets of LA, taking down criminals in a variety of ways. Not only does the game have three components (driving, shooting, and fighting), but the storyline branches depending on how successful and how nice you are, making for tons of different missions.

The dialogue is annoying but occasionally funny, and the balls-to-the-wall story complements the reckless action nicely. I'd highly recommend this game.

Well This is one if The Best Game That is going to be on all the Consoles, it is almost Like Grand Theft Auto But I think it's goin to be Even Better.

in This Game there are three Diffrent Styles Of GamePlay, Driving, Fighting And Shooting.
And True Crime is in LA, The Streets and all the Locations are Real, it is Based on Sattelite Shots so its goin to be Great To Go every Where in LA and see how it feels and looks like.

Now to the Gameplay First the Driving:
You Play as Nick Kang Driving His Convertible And Drive a motorCycle and while You are Driving there is going to be a "radar" just Like Grand Theft Auto and it will Direct you to various Points on interest, not just that you can also encounter random Crimes while you are out in the streets, you can Even break up muggings without even getting out of your car by Casually popping a few caps into the perp's face.

Now the Shooting:
You Can Hold two Guns at once, and you can even aim at two thugs now aint that cool or what, while you take out the Thugs you can take their weapons.

Now The Fighting:
In This Game The Hand to Hand Stuff Works Pretty Cool, The moves There are that Nick Use is punch, Kick, grapple, and Jump.
If You Repeat the Attack the Thugs will get Dizzy and there is going to be a slow Motion string of Attacks on them as a sort of Finisher.
The Grapple lets you Suplex , Tosses and Series of Slams you can even make elbow drops on the thugs after you knock them Down.

not only that you Can Do Stuff Your Way, there is a Unique Branching storyline allows you to navigate your own way through over 100 missions, even leaving the mission path at times to build skills, explore the city and and bust random Criminals.
Success leads in one Direction, While Failures lead in another, Without Repeat of missions, If You Decide to kill a boss, you may lose the information he had, If You Don't Kill him, he may Come back to haunt you. Along the Way. You've got to React to and handle random Crimes that spring up.
In The game You Can Bust Drug Dealers and prostitutes, Shakedown Information and Confront Gang Members To Get The Job Done.

as You See all these things a man Got it, Nick Kang is a Really Dangerous Dude, he is a cop Offcourse.
The Game is Really Great, It is By Activision, i am Gettin This Game When it's Out I Am Sure, It's Going to be Even Better Than Grand Theft Auto, So Wait For This Game And GET IT!!!.

Frustrating and boring!!!!

Lets start with the good things. Cutscenes and voice acting is top notch. The city is huge and its nice to see the santa monica pier and the freeway driving is sort of fun. Completely destroying a room in a hectic fight scene or shootout looks cool. I would say the first few hours will appear to be fun but then...on with the bad things. Camera angles are terrible at times. The graphics while driving is choppy. There is serious lag and slowdown in alot of the game. The load screens are plentiful and slowdown already slow gameplay. The A.I. is very flawed and you will see perps get stuck or hung up in walls. You can expect to get your car to get hung up and the game will freeze at times. The boss fights are just plain frustrating. You will end up throwing your controller more than once due to the fact the fighting controls stink and it seems that kick, punch, kick repeat is the only thing that works...but doesn't. Grapple moves hardly ever work. Everyone and there dog is a kung fu expert. The side missions get repeated way to often. Repeated stupid one liners will get said over and over. The shooting gets ok after some upgrades but still is not very good. The auto aim takes most of the fun out of the game. You will end up not even paying attention to the story line because it makes no sense and multiple ending only add to the confusion. The stealth missions. Well one minute your snapping necks...next minute your retrying the same mission over and over because you cant get past some poorly placed buckets due to the crappy controls. The "matrix" effect is plain...well boring and you will not miss it if you never use it. Overall this game gets boring fast...even after getting all the upgrades and you will end up rushing thru the game just to get it over with and probably never play it again. It tries to be the game with everything but does not succeed on any level. Truly a major disappointment. Fighting= Charlies angels except worse. Shooting= Dead to rights and max payne except way worse. Driving= GTA minus any good vehichles to drive. Stealth=Splinter cell minus anything that works. They forgot sniping and team play like ghost recon but that was probably to hard to mess up. Any good reviews of this game was probably by the people who made it. Rent it first or possibly waste your hard earned cash.

fun game
