Gets boring!

At first like all games I couldn't stop playing it. But after a couple days it didn't appeal to me. Now I haven't played it in over 4 months but the game play is vair. It has good controls but wrecks your r2 button cause you have to use that button alot. So no it dosen't work that well. Go ahead and try the game you might like it.

All this game has going for it is the graphics and the name. Too bad it has absolutly nothing to do with the movie. This game is garbage....get Ace Combat 4!

Don't waste your money on this game, very hard to control and

This game is pretty bad. You do not feel like you are flying or in control of the plane. The controls are very sluggish. Ace Combat 4 is a much better aerial combat game.

This game stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is so stupid. The entire thing is just training and it takes forever to load!!! There may be 35 levels but there are only 7 jets. I recomend Ace Combat 4 Shatered skys.

Top Gun was awesome movie but the game isn't. I can't even get past the Tutorual missions! My uncle can't either. This has no pros and all cons. Get AceCombat04 for some real Flight Sim! This is horrible. However, if you JUST HAVE TO HAVE a Top Gun game buy a Gameboy Color and buy TopGun: Firestorm. This game is awesome! The controls are just like a jet fightr. What is so stupid about the Combat Zone game is 2 hits from a tank and BOOM! you explode. You crash into the canyons alot and the worlds are not big at all! Why can't Titus make a good game like Firestorm or AceCombat04: Shattered Skies? If you would like a preety good game for PC buy F-22 Lighting 3.

Top Gun: Combat Zones attempts to blend elements of both arcade- and sim-style flyers, resulting in a game which isn't good at either genre. The flight physics are astoundingly unrealistic (someone needs to remind the developer that real aircraft require thrust to generate lift). The HUD graphics are equally silly. Your cannon has regenerating ammo (perhaps the US Navy would be interested in licensing this technology from Titus). Enemy AI is so poor that the only way for them to dumb it down enough for Easy difficulty was to simply prevent enemies from both moving and shooting. The aircraft models are decent, but textures are blurry and washed out, probably as a means of disguising their lack of detail. Environment graphics are even more depressing, revealing numerous clipping errors and texture glitches upon close inspection. Gameplay is often redundant and tedious, but rarely challenging. The music is abysmal, menus are ugly and unintuitive, and in-game sounds range from average to utter garbage. Perhaps this level of incompetence cuts the mustard on the PS2, but it's a real stinker compared to other GameCube games.

this game is fun if you like plane games. it has very good planes but the details are not very good. I would not recomend it because it's worst than falcon 4.

Nice game... but connection to the movie is lost

This is a nice game. I am not a highly skilled gamer (I am 33 yrs old), so I cannot get technical about the details. The number one complain is that,despite the title TOP GUN, the game has no connection to the movie. I purchased it in part for the movie theme.
I played the entire game. The graphics are very good. The controls are also okay. I have just purchased Ace Combat 4 ( and never played it before), so I cannot compare them yet.
The game was fun. I really liked it. If you are looking for a nice flight simulation game, with some hard action when you keep being pounded by enemy fire, this is the game for you.

I thought ace combat 4 was better. I think top gun would have been better if it was more geared toward the movie. Also if they added carrier landings and take offs i think it would have been better. Graphics overall were good.
