When my sims goes to downtown she just stands there all day. Doesn't move or goes to talk to anybody. I have to tell the sim to do everything. Waste of money and very slow.
Cool but to much kissing

This is the worst game ever. There is almost no gameplay and it takes hours of working up to your date to get 1 kiss. Dont buy it.
Is it gonna work?

Buying the House Party expansion pack taught me ONE thing;don't mess with EA!!! It simply makes my computer crash..So I'm thinking, well, the Hot Date expansion pack seems to be really good! Nice idea......but who is to guarantee me I won't throw my money away, just like I did with House Party? And it's not a technical problem that makes my computer crash.....it's the CD! I probably won't resist buying Hot Date. Let's just hope curiosity won't kill the cat AGAIN!
Problems with XP

Buyers beware; The Sims website claims that it has not received any complaints from people running The Sims: Hot Date on Windows XP. This is a lie. I could not get the expansion pack to install on XP and I know of a lot of people who met with failure as well. XP users will be hit with a series of errors when they try to install this pack. The initial ones are easy to work around, but the following error: "Error number: 0x80040707 Description:" marks the you're-finished line. Some say that this error is caused by trying to install on a limited account, problems between XP and InstallShield, damaged OLEAUT32.dll file, several different kinds of registry problems... Unfortunately, no one has come up with a solution that works. The Sims website offers little help. Their technical support is a NIGHTMARE; save yourself the frustration of calling or emailing. It's safe to say that Maxis cares little for their customers. I recommend that Windows XP users skip this pack and wait for Maxis to post a fix. (Unlikely, as they are preparing to release The Sims 2 at the end of March.) As for the initial question: How fun is this game? Wouldn't know.
When will it stop?

First off, I loved the first game, and the first expansions where interesting additions to an already great and addictive game. However, these additions didn't a whole lot to gameplay except for giving you new skins and items for your house. (something you can download online for free by the way) Long story short, these expansions are all great but for the money, try out a new game.

Well this expansion has more options to choose form and a downtown to go to that you create. Finally. Also includes new items. Plus there is two relationship bars to make the game keep you coming back for more.

PLEASE not ANOTHER expansion pack!!! Why doesnt Maxis and EA focus on better things like The Sims 2, Simcity 4000, Simsville, and The Sims Online! The only reason I give this one star is because of the town feature, but then again you can do that in The Sims Online!! Also you can only patch up a game engine so many times!
Appropriate for what age?

Help, am wondering if this is appropriate for a mature 14 year old. Some of the wording on the package-get lucky-concerns me.
