If you love to play strategy games that have quality and content then you will love this as much as i do. I am just a little bit dissapointed because personally i found it too easy for a very advanced strategy game player, even in difficult mode. (since Warcraft I and Conmand and Conquer 1 i have played all strategy games that exist!!)So, even if your are Battle Realms generation or Rome Total War this game is not very hard.
Another point that has me hooked is that due to the new "War of the Ring" Risk type game i have more reason to come back and play, even if it is easy for me.
AS far as the online matters are conserned, i do not tend to play online so i do not know if those issues exist (or not) in my disk of the game.

The developers did a great job of recreating the atmosphere and essence of Middle Earth battles. My sons and I all enjoy the game immensely. I dumped Age of Empires III for this.

The only review you need!

I have read the other gamers reviews, and some of them just wont cut it for me. Why are you here reading these reviews? its because you are looking for an RTS game correct? Well I say look no further. A game with many different armies! Gondor! Mordor! Isenguard! Elves! Dwarves! Goblins! and Rohan! Countless hero characters! sub-hero characters! Great allies on the battle field such as Dragons! You can call in at anytime! I believe you can have 500 units on the screen at one time. 500?!? Its unheard of! Build towers and buildings, fortresses and walls. Play in i don't know HOW MANY different battle fields, and unleash the full potential of your enormous army. Build your own hero characters that alow you to do many awsome things such as a stealth corrupted man. You can use this guy in a battle to sneak into an enemy base, disguise yourself as one of them, and assasinate their leader before they even know your there. (they are all distracted by the army you just sent on a full force charge into the front lines of their base).Anyone who says that isn't cool, is lying through their teeth. Onwards! Your hero characters have so many powers and abilities and bonus's its just unbelievable. Play as tree wielding trolls! You want to see what would happen if you lead the dwarfs on a full scale attack on Mordor? Find out for yourself. Want to duke it out with Gondor versus Isenguard? Find out for yourself. Sick arragorn on your foes, and watch him go nuts. If any of that fits the discription of your dream RTS game, then buy it! You will NOT be sorry :)

Great game!

I have played a lot of strategy games and this one certainly ranks among the top few. Creating Heroes and War of the Ring are two elements that don't arise is many other strategy games and certainly enhance the fun of the game. Campaigns are well-designed and follow good plotlines. Skirmish-style games are also a lot of fun.

The greatest strategy on earth and i own it. now i'm going to give you read out why you should by this game. i will also tell you the features.
first of my favorite ting is creating your own hero with swords, axes, shields, armour, pads, stats(such as power and health), and powers. i like using the wizard class the best because of their awesome powers like fire balls and evens the hero gandalf's word of power spell. don't worry about getting the first game before the second because the first sucks. in this game you can customize your central fortress with catapaults, towers, and walls. you can build anywhere and command large armys. the factions you can play as are,Men, Elves, Dwarves, Isengard, Mordor, and Goblins. you can controls a navy and the spell that you can choose are so darn cool it's unbelievable. (Whew!) and i'm just getting started, there are new maps, a story driven campaign, and a risk style war of the ring mode. i say if you have the cash (which is not alot) then get this game NOW!!!!!! thank you for reading this review.

I love the game its very funny specially playing online.
You can make friends joins diferent clans etc.
The campaings are a bit short but goods. and you have the option to play War of the ring mode , that its like a board game where you have to conquer diferent territories.
The best part of the game is the 6 diferent factions you can chose each one totally diferent from the others but with a good balance, having diferent units and buildings.
try it you will like the game

BFME2 was awesome

Everything is amazing graphics, characters, creating a hero, fighting, and the buildings. Except command limit. In command and conquers Genearals you can have as many people as you want. This you can only make like 12 squads or whatever and a couple of heros. It's still pretty cool so buy it.

Great!

This game is really really fun. When you first start playing, you'll get instantly sucked into it. The game is always challenging (never a dull moment). As your skills improve, you can play a harder AI. And once you are really really good, you can test your skills in an excellantly made oline arena.

Good luck!
