this game is very fun. however i give it a one star over all because of the way it was marketed. i own and love ninja gaiden black. i bought this game because i kept hearing about all the "added content" and "improved graphics". the added content is quite lame. this game actually has less to unlock than the "black" version, besides a few added cut scenes and a couple of addition boss battles that do nothing to enhance the story (they only provided me with irritation) this version has very little to offer. in the way of graphics. i was very disappointed. its debatable that the graphics are improved at all over "black". thats not good for a next gen system. the cut scenes which i love actually were worse because they took out the pretty cgi and used in game graphics. the difference wasnt that apparent but when you look close there were many more jagged lines where before they were smooth.
i will say that if you own a ps3 and have not played ninja gaiden black then deffinately pick this up. its very fun.

Be aware that, although the graphical enhancements are great, several of the game's cinematic sequences (including Alma's first appearance) have been altered and cut, possibly for rating issues. Also, one of the most attractive rewards upon finishing the game (the movie theater) has been deleted completely, making Ninja Gaiden Sigma an overall inferior game when compared to Ninja Gaiden Black for the XBOX. Get the latter if given the choice.
To damn hard!

Maybe its because I'm not 16 but I think this game is just too hard. I started on normal, as I do most games, and Barely got to the 3rd stage. I can appreciate developing skill to beat a game but this is crazy. I stopped playing because I got tired of dying. Give me God of War anyday of the week. At least they give you a chance to learn before they throw a thousand guys at you at once.
Same thing over and over.

Do they really think they can release the exact same game THREE times? There's very little difference between this and the original two versions on Xbox, other than bloated up resolution and more bloom. If you own an Xbox 1 or an Xbox 360 already, save yourself fifty bucks and just buy the original Ninja Gaiden for ten whopping dollars. If you have previously played and beaten this game, there's very little reason to spend sixty bucks to do something you've already done before.
However, if you neither own an Xbox 1 or Xbox 360, but own a PS3 AND have never played Ninja Gaiden, then I highly recommend the purchase of this game. Although it's rehashed junk over and over, it's at least quality rehash.

I'll admit I'm not a serious gamer, but I'm not useless with a controller. I normally play a game on the normal setting and hard once Ive already beat it. This game though, Damn. There are no other diffuculty settings other than "Youre F*ed". I have always wanted to play this game since I saw it on the Xbox, but since I have only had Playstations, I never got a chance until now. I was so excited when the game came it. I put it in and started playing it. Well right away I had a ninja running at me slashing me to bits. So I had to pause the game and read the manual to find out which buttons are what. So I start playing again with my new found knowledge of controls and work my way through the level, all the while getting my butt handed to me. After several deaths, I finally made it to the boss, who then proceeds to slaughter me. Now I will admit that I have little patience for this kind of stuff, but a 10 minute first boss fight is rediculous. After the first 3 hours of frustrating playing and never getting past the first boss, I took out the disk and threw it like a ninja star right into the wall. Which then pissed me off more because I had just wasted 50 bucks on a game. Im sure this game wouldve been much more fun, if it had not been so stupidly hard and I had a little more patience. All in all Id say "rent before you buy"

This is a good game. It's the slasher style game, like onimusha or devil may cry. You just have to keep hitting the buttons and blocking at the right time. Not to challenging but enough to keep you playing. The graphics are great and game play and controls are very smooth. There is plenty of adventure in this game but the fighting and many different weapons are all kind of the same. If you like onimusha you'r love this game.

Dont get me wrong the games good but they didn't redo some movie cuts and it felt like they just took the x-box version copied it for some of the lvls,
If you just got the game dont hate my score the first 2 lvls they did a novel job on. They added a few weps, And the sound deserves a 2/10 the same sound for 1 hr. gets quite old, new char to play as though she is harder to play as. Game is much easier to beat, if your a fan of the old harder Gaiden save yourself some green and go play BF 2142, or W.O.W. :-)

Its a decent game. It looks nice, but there's not much depth to it. Also, the learning curve is really steep. You don't have any idea what's going on at the beginning of the game, and its completely up to you to learn everything. Some enemies are practically invincible until you learn how to properly defeat them. Can be frustrating as there isn't enough structure.

The game has excellent graphics, fighting style, moves and everything that wants you want to have it. However beware of the difficulty level of the game. It won't suit everyone. I have finished several action/adventure games before, I'm not a pro but not bad either. However I am stuck in chapter 3 and can only read the game is just beginning, and it will get extremely more difficult. It's OK if some pro people want very hard game, but since you want to sell it to as many people as possible, provide varying difficulty levels, and let everyone enjoy it as his own pace. Not everyone has the time to keep practicing a game you know. So if you are not confident you can master it, and time is not a luxury on your side, then $60 maybe too much to spend before you quite out of frustration.
There is also no proper in-game tutorial at all, you kind of have to figure it out your self. From start of the game, ninjas attack you and i was waiting for some tips as usual, but no, nothing. Even if the game is wanted to be difficult, after all you want to sell it
Another annoying thing is that sometimes if you kill ninjas, leave and come back to the same room, they show up again. Very annoying. Specially that they made the Square button to examine objects and open doors, and it's also a primary fighting button. So in the middle of the fight, if you go near the wall and click the square button, you may unaware leave the area, have to go back and repeat your fight. Pretty silly.
Story of the game, up till chapter 3 at least, is nothing special. Perhaps it will turn out great later on.

I never played the XBOX version so I'm not going to try and compare the two.
Graphics: 7
That might seem harsh even by PS3 standards, but for me the game scenery, backgrounds, whatever, didn't blow me away. The character designs were well done, however.
Difficulty: 9
Some may disagree, but even on easy level this game can be challenging. The enemy's put up a good fight, which at times can be annoying. I'm not asking for a game where the enemy is a complete moron, but TECMO sure knows how to frustrate a game player.
Controls: 7
Overall the controls aren't bad, the only downside is the camera. It just plain bites.
Replay value: 0
I don't see any replay value, unless of course you like more hack and slash missions.
