First off... Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox was amazing. This is, basically, the same game, however they've added a lot of new content and a fantastic graphic upgrade. Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox looked really good, and that's why it blew my mind that they could make Sigma look so much better. This really shows off the power of the PS3.
If you've never played the Xbox version(s) of Ninja Gaiden and you own a PS3, GET THIS GAME RIGHT NOW. This is one of the best games ever made. It's a total action game, but you stand a great chance of loving it even if you aren't into the action genre. This game is simply amazing.
If you played the Xbox version then you should take into consideration that this really is just a (hugely) updated version. There is a lot of extra content, but you may not want to pay full game price for what boils down to an expansion pack. If you loved the xbox version and really would like to play this game again, you will enjoy the upgrades. The graphics are not simply better; they've changed scenery, effects, and characters in order to utilize the power of the PS3. The very first stage, for example, featured a lot of stone walls in the Xbox version. In Sigma, it features stone walls covered in foliage and constantly falling cherry blossoms. It's simply beautiful.

highly recommended for any action game fans out there.....and especially for those who have ever fantasized about ninjas or swords! Incredible sword wielding moves, acrobatics, fast paced action, amazing graphics....what else do you need! Perhaps just as importantly, the game plays and feels right. The creators did a great job of engineering this game. The camera views are great as well, with the ability to adjust many settings and constantly adjust back to your forward view.
Eye candy!

A game that's frustrating, rewarding, visually stunning, and long running. This is a game that could have been shortened and it seems games are coming out already short enough. It felt like there were so many bosses and levels that after surviving some of these spectacular fight scenes you were left feeling that you've just finished a 10 round fight. But a second later, the ring announcer enters the ring and says lets go, two more rounds, and this goes on and on until you feel you've got so much into the game there's no turning back until you're the last fighter standing. If you liked DMC3 because it was a punk game, then NGS will be the punk that makes your day.

The series continues from Nintendo's best seller and greatest hits on the PS3. You definitely have more at your disposal when it comes accomplishing missions using various weapons and ninpo techniques. It is a new story line which does not continue from its predecessors. I recommend this game to those who have played the Nintendo version or not!

This is the hardest game I've played in a LONG time. But b4 I get into all that, let me cover the basics.
graphics: amazing graphics. characters have no apparent edges, and the lighting glistens. A true 3rd-generation experience, especially on a HD set-up.
sound: once again great. music is thematically appropriate, and the clank of steel on steel reverberates.
now getting to the meat of this review. The game is HARD. Where most action games inevitably become a redundant festival of button-mashing...tecmo has done an outstanding job maintaining a challenge that requires actual skill and reflexes. Most games that are "hard", just up the ante by adding more stuff to kill, or making you die easier. This game is hard b/c it requires you to actually have hand-eye coordination.
If you are upto the challenge, this game is more than well-worth the money. GET THIS GAME...you will want to replay this game after a few months after you complete it, if not right away.
Hard but worth it

Very hard game in my opinion but that just makes it so much more satisfying. I had no idea what I was getting into when i bought this game because I just looked at the high ratings it got from various sites instead of actually reading the reviews.. Frustrated the hell out of me at times but I am still very happy with my purchase. This is not a game for button-smashers at all.. You need to learn the various combos and master different weapons in order to get anywhere in this game but as I said before, it will all be worth it.

its not perfect, but it plays and handles supperbly. Good story, and quite a challenge, due to its difficulty level. The game it self was perfect, but cant say the same for everything else, i got shipped in a black broken box, no manual, no nothing, but the disc was in perfect condition, not what i expected for 30$
Ryu is a supper high speed ninja power, oh wait I forgot lethal!

Playing the game was an overall great experience. I particularly enjoyed the high speed fights with all the plenty of combos to master, and I was a bit surprised to the meticulous work done on the storyline, considering this is a "Ninja" game. The game becomes really hard as you acquaint the next bosses, so if you don't want to throw your controller on the wall, I strongly suggest for some tactics hints found on the official game guide.
