I just bought a PC and was looking for a game to buy and I seen NOX for [money] so I decided to buy it because of westwood studios track record so I take it home thinking it an ok game but after playing it for a couple of min. I was hooked the controls were easy to pick up the pace of the game help you get used to the controls also the story is lite hearted which is kind of different in this day and age. One of the best features is that you have 3 different classes warrior, wizard, and conjurer each have thair own advatiges and disadvantiges and have a slightly different story the graphics are slightly above PS1 standards with great lighting effects. All in all this is a must buy for your PC library and why not it [money] you can go wrong. I have 2 new PS2 games and I play NOX more than any of them what are you still reading for buy the game !!
The best game I ever played

Oh boy, i got this game what...5-6 years ago?
And guess what. This is the only game that after having so long I still pull out and play again.
I wont bother to tell you what the game is like, you can read the other 20+ reviews for that. I will tell you this is my #1 PC game and it is a pitty that this was not one of those "Big Hit" games, becuase it should have been.
And to dispell a rumor, EA did cut off the service to NOX online play, but has now restored it (as of me writing this review)
Am I missing something?

After reading rave reviews for this game I was very eager to buy a copy and play it. Unfortunately I found the game did not live up to my expectations. I found Nox to be little more than a mouse "click fest". Much too linear and repetitive! In single player mode the protagonist is delivered to an area and the player clicks madly on their mouse until the area is completed. If you are looking for a CRPG I suggest you look at Planescape: Torment or wait for one of the upcoming offerings from Black Isle.

I must admit, I don't get the chance to play many software games, so I have a limited history to compare against. None the less I think this game includes all the essential characterisics that make a software game worth playing.
The story line is relatively original and involves at least some degree of logical decision making. Like most RPGs you must build up an inventory of weapons, armor, food, spells, etc. All the while you gain experience points as you fend off various beasts and enemies and complete various missions.
The action is also pretty fast paced. It's not a first person shooter by any means, but it's also not a strategy simulation game. Knowing quick and evasive actions and making quick decisions becomes more essential as you move on to new "Chapters" or missions.
I still have not completed the game but look forward to plugging away at it until, one day, I may finish it. In the meantime i'll continue slashing away at zombies, wolves and various other assailants 3 hours at a time.
Fun game, good value

Nox is a fun little game. What it lacks in originality, it more than makes up for with excellent gameplay and performance. Considering how low the price is for this game now, it is definitely worth buying.
The storyline for this game is linear, but each of the levels are large and have a lot of areas to explore. The theme of the game is kind of light-hearted and cartoonish. You walk around the levels, hacking or shooting or zapping monsters, finding keys, and breaking open stuff for goodies. In between levels, you can usually visit merchants to buy new stuff and get your equipment repaired.
There's nothing really original there. Where Nox excels is in some other areas in which other games often fail:
1. The graphics, animation, and sound for this game are excellent. Each room has a bunch of small objects to interact with, although most of them are things that you don't need. Still, if you want to, you can smash wine barrels for the heck of it and push rocks around.
2. The interface is easy to use and fits the fast-paced gameplay very well. There are hotkeys for three potions, five spells, and two weapons.
3. The game is short, but it is genuinely replayable. At the beginning of the game, you choose one of three distinct character classes. The beginning missions for each class are totally different. The later missions are the same, but each class has such distinct abilities that you have to play them somewhat differently.
4. The inventory system was refreshingly un-tedious. Maybe it's not realistic, but it's a nice break from the routine of constantly rearranging your inventory.
5. The game actually has good gold balance. What I mean by this is that you don't end up the game with a ton of gold and nothing good to spend it on. You get progressively more useful items at each level, but they cost more. Each time you spend gold, you can usually buy one or two things that you want, but you have to spend your money wisely.
NOX is a fun game to play. Its short length and shallow, linear plot are the reason that it gets four stars instead of five.
check this out!

ahhh...finally, a game that has cooler voices, effects and slightly better graphics then Diablo II. This game is pretty fun. You can play as a warrior(the bad fighter), The conjurer(the gooy-goody necroman), And the wizard(the magical smarties). Each class can do spells(or in the warrior's case, skills) and can find books along the game to improve or learn new stuff (like death ray and the killer fist of vengance) and each class cannot do certain things, like the warrior cannot wear robes or use magic staves and conjurers cannot use most magic staves and the wizard cannot wear any armor. It's a great game, so come and dig in!
