This game is amazing, i have been playing it non stop, customize your car with over 200 different parts to choose from, or head to the detail shop to change the sound of your horn, get tinted windows, paint job, fuzzy dice, wheelie bar or roll bar. it truly is an amazin game with many different types of racing including drag racing and street racing. i love this game because it is impossible to beat and new things are always happening!!

This game is the best sports game for computer I have ever played. I am just playing the BETA release and it is already very very good. I am planning on pre-ordering the game today. The only thing that i am not looking forward to is the monthly fee. But well worth it anyway.

Most reviewers seem to love this game or hate it. I'd like to offer a balanced opinion to someone who's curious about buying it.

The game is very challenging. Building a well balanced car takes time and patience, but it can be very rewarding when you win a race because you picked the right camshaft or tried those new tires.

You can set your own goals within the game community. Start a club, or try to collect rare parts and sell them to others for a profit. Wanna build a car that's good on the track? At the drag strip? How fast can you go down a winding dirt-and-gravel country road without losing control?

There are people of every stripe within the game, from experienced racers to newbies who aren't sure what color to pick for their new paintjob. Although some people in the game were in the beta, nobody was allowed to carry their cars/parts over to the final release... they all had to earn what they have.

This game has some negative hype, but I think that the monthly fee (which so many people think of as a bad) makes it very dynamic. The development team is planning regular updates to address the concerns of the players and to provide new cars/parts/tracks/etc. They've already released one update (or "patch") that directly addressed a number of concerns expressed on the message boards, and they're planning another update for December. I think the development team was stretched thin when the game was first released, but they are more responsive now and the game is improving.

I'm amazed at the number of people who bought the game without realizing there's a monthly fee. It's printed on the box. After all, it's called Motor City ONLINE. And to the person who wouldn't give out their credit card #, go back to your Y2K shelter... We'll call you when the world is perfect.

I think it's a dynamic game based on a great idea, and I think it will only get better.

MCO is a awesome gameplayer good I reccomend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buy this Game!!!!!so get on with the racing! It has chat rooms it has 4 kinds of races Circuit,sreet,sponcerd and open and club!! there are tons of cars!!
year 32 to 73!! you fix up your car to be 800hp! BUY it!! the only thing that is bad is that you have to pay [per] month to play.It rocks good graphics buy it if you you are a real racer feel the speed! there is about 600 real people online at one time!!!

I have been on racing for three months now, almost every night (very addictive). Yes, there is a ...[monthly] fee to play this game, I read the whole box before I purchased it so it was not a surprise and as it turns out it's worth every penny. I was not in Beta, but after the last 3 patches all issues posted here previously have been addressed and it has turned the game into an excellent racing community. I recommend this game to all ages, yes there are always a few exceptions, but because of the small monthly fee to play you'll find most racers are mature and just there to have fun racing a 57 Bel Air or a 32 Ford at 140mph through an old dirt road. If your a classic or muscle car buff, you'll think they wrote the game just for you.

Compared to other games I've had to pay to play online, this is small potatoes...I'll pay $... to play NASCAR 4. And I paid $... per month to play NASCAR 2!! So $... is nothing compared to these other games. This game is awesome, the beta needed some work but it still was a great game. So if you ask me it is very much worth the money to play this game online. So go buy it already!!!

This is the best racing game I have ever played. But it costs 9.99 a month but think about it, if you go to the movies twice a month, you spent more money than the 9.99. This game allows true interaction, you race people, chat with people, and even join clubs. If you like cars you will enjoy the freedom of building the engine from the block up.

I found Motor City Online to be a very good game but, I did not think the monthly fee was worth it. I mean if you BUY the game that should be all the fees there are but instead they need to drain all the money possible out of you. So bottom line if you want a Decent racing game with litteraly thousands of mods for your cars and are willing to pay the web site service fee then its a great game, but not for me.

I have been a HUGE Need For Speed fan ever since the original came out. I played the game for hours and became very good. Then MotorCity came out a long time later, and now I feel the same joy as I did the first time I played the original Need For Speed. Whether your into modern fast cars, or muscle cars, hell even if you HATE racing games, you will find this game fun.

Theres something for everybody, but you will have to do some racing of course. I will go over some of the key features and explain them.

Clubs - You can create a club and invite members, once you have a fair ammount of members you can start haveing turf wars!

Auctions - Auction off cars or parts!

Various Car Lots - If I recall correctly there are 4 car lots.

Very active - There are ALWAYS enuff people online to have a good race, trust me I have played all day and nite before :)

Cuztomization - You can customize almost every part on your car, from the fuzzy dice in the window too the nitrous injector under the hood!

RPG Elements - Great leveling system, every 5 levels you advance in rank which increases your weekly salary.

Cheating? - Worryed about cheating? Well, don't. EA Logs every race and gives it a unique ID, so if people cheat it WILL NOT go on for long.

Those are just some of the key elements, now I will go over the gameplay.

Sound - For the first 2 weeks the radio is great, lots of stations and songs, but they will get old, however the speech is updated at least every three days.
Electronic Arts claims they update the music but I have not noticed yet.

Graphics - Simply put, there not amazing. They are good enuff for massive multiplayer game though.

Controls - You can use lots of different controls, keyboard, mouse, joysticks, and best of all, racing wheels. If your not using a racing wheel, your missing out, this game is definetly intended for a wheel.

Gameplay - Fantastic. There is always something new, that you have not yet experienced, whether it be winning a time trials competition, or becoming a new top dog!

Overall - Great game.
You may not want to buy this game because of the monthly fee, but let me assure you, this game is worth EVERY PENNY!
