When Konami sets their minds to it, they really makes gems of games. They did it with Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation, and have done it again with the game boy color port. The game is not just a port of the PlayStation version, but instead an all new version of the MG universe. I could touch on the story, but it's so much fun to just be suprised well playing the game. The graphics are bright and colorful, taking full advantage of the GBC. The sound is AMAZING, thousands of lines of speach dialog. Plus, the game is rated everyone, so it doesnt contain the blood and gore of the PSX version. This game will take about 10 hours for the seasoned game player to beat, and includes 100's of VR missions, in which you practice the diffrent aspects of the game, which is great. The game focuses on stealth and plot, with some action, which it does beautifully. Your never bored, and there are not tough puzzels to handle. If you are a fan of the genre, or just want a great game, pick this up as fast as possible!

This game is ok. It's by far much worse than the playstion version. It was not a good follow up, but if you haven't played the PSX version, this is a good way to get to know the game and plot.

In 1990 Konami released a game for the "NEW" msx system named Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. It was topped only by Metal Gear Solid for playstation. But it was amaizing. This game is almost identical to it in graphic design, and better in story. This game is the best gameboy color game I have ever played! It may not compare to the playstation version for obvious reason (Graphics), but it is the best use of GameBoy color's Graphic capabilities.

This game was a huge surprise. I expected it to be just another mediocre Game Boy port, but it has surpassed all expectations. If you like an adventure game with great characters, enemies, and storyline, then this is the game for you.
An all new adventure starring Solid Snake!

Contrary to other reviews, this game is not a port of the Playstation game of the same name. In Japan this game was titled Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. It is an all NEW adventure! The game plays like it's big brother on Playstation -sneaking, base infiltration, etc. but the bad guys and surroundings and story are all new and help this game break from the mold of other less exciting Gameboy action games. Quite possibly the best use of color I've seen come from the Gameboy Color, this game continues to excite and will keep both vets and newbies to the Metal Gear series glued to their screens until the closing credits! This will be sure to quench the thirst of MG fans until Snake's next adventure on the Playstation 2...

I think this game will go down as a classic. The controls are tight and responsive, the graphics are spectacular (for the Gameboy, at any rate), the plot is involving (though not ass good as the PSX game of the same name) and so are the characters (They are cool, but none of them can hold a candle to Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven, Sniper Wolf, or Revolver Ocelot from the PSX version). Over all, it isn't as good as the playstation version, but in my opinion atleast, it's the best gameboy game out there. If you like action/adventure games, and you have a little patience, then BUY THIS GAME NOW

It's really a great game, with many features. It is a bit short, (at first I didn't think so) but the story line is excellent, especially for the game boy. It's extremely difficult in the harder difficulty levels, and Metal Gear itself was a challenge. (for once a boss that's actually hard on the game boy, and in easy mode too.) You are Solid Snake and go back after destroying the first Metal gear. A great game.
A fun game

If you want a good little game, buy this one! Its has great graphics(for a gameboy) and is actually pretty fun. The only thing I disliked about it is when you get three guards shooting at you all at the same time, it is REALLY HARD to retaliate. But thats about it. The bosses are a little too easy, but thats okay. The guns are really cool too. In conclusion, if you want a fun little game to take on the road, or just something to play when you're bored, this is it!
