I will start by saying this is probably the best game for gameboy color. It has almost everything the PS version had, and it's gameplay is amazing. The graphics are good for what the GBC can do and the story is on par with other metal gear games. Minor gripes, one being that sometimes the game forces you to start from a point other then where you saved, and sometimes when the enemy knowks you down, they bunch around you and you take an unnecessary amount of damage. At times it will frustrate the heck out of you looking for a difference in the scenery on that little screen to advance in the stage. But these flaws are only minor. This game is great by anyone's standards.
Superb and suspenseful

Metal Gear Solid is one heck of a game. The graphics are incredible considering the system, and the story is unbeatable. As it progresses, the player will find himself gradually realizing along with Solid Snake that this mission is nothing like what he was told, and everything action-thriller fans crave. This is really the only handheld game I know of that could have been a movie, and a great one too. It's that good!
Awesome!!! A GBC Masterpiece!!! Bravo, Konami!!!

Metal Gear: Solid should be outlawed as too addictive...it's that much fun!!! The game is rich atmosphere, with an exspansive conspiracy-based storyline, straight out of todays headlines! The graphics are top-notch for a GBC game, and Snake can still preform his old tricks: knocking on walls, hiding in boxes, tall grass, mud, etc. It's appropriate for kids, but there is one scene and several conversations that are pretty edgy, such as a serial-killer-turned-government-assassin describing her sisters murder in detail. Otherwise, this game is great! Now lets see them port MGS2: Sons of Liberty to the small screen! Or maybe Syphon Filter GBC! Yeah!

MGS was good on the playstation, but the gameboy is even better! It took me a while to win the game but it is so cool. There is action, drama, suspense, and betreyal. The story is not as good as the playstation version buit it earns it's pay.MGS for gameboy is a definent buyer. You'll love it.
A fun game

If you want a good little game, buy this one! Its has great graphics(for a gameboy) and is actually pretty fun. The only thing I disliked about it is when you get three guards shooting at you all at the same time, it is REALLY HARD to retaliate. But thats about it. The bosses are a little too easy, but thats okay. The guns are really cool too. In conclusion, if you want a fun little game to take on the road, or just something to play when you're bored, this is it!
It's back and on gameboy Color

I really Recommended this game for you because you can play M.G.S. but on your gameboy plus you also got VR Missions. Also you can mostly do what you do in the playstation version like: crawl, go through vents, it's hard, and you got mostly every wepon even the missle luncher that you can control the missle. GET IT IF YOU LIKE STELTH GAMES FOR YOUR GAMEBOY COLOR.
great game

It's really a great game, with many features. It is a bit short, (at first I didn't think so) but the story line is excellent, especially for the game boy. It's extremely difficult in the harder difficulty levels, and Metal Gear itself was a challenge. (for once a boss that's actually hard on the game boy, and in easy mode too.) You are Solid Snake and go back after destroying the first Metal gear. A great game.

If you are a GB player this game is for you. It is the small version of the Playstation game but smaller and is an exellent action game. I would consider this game better than 007 for GB cause of the better features.
extremely stupid

i ONCE THOUGHT THIS IS JUST A BAD GAME BUT IT IS VERY BAD. IT HAS POOR GRAPHICS AND I DISAGREE WITH ALL YOU OTHER GAMERS, BUT IT IS JUST STUPID. I WOULD SAVE MY MONEY FOR SPONGE BOB SQUARE PANTS GAME THAT IS A GOOD GAME. I DONT OWN METAL GEAR BUT I SAW A KID PLAYING IT AT SCHOOL AND IT WAS PLAIN DUMD.

Metal gear solid rocks! I have never played this game but I've played two of the games and wowe! You get to have shooting, fun, action, fun, adventure, fun, and some story. Did I metion fun? You sneak pass gaurds, break their necks, blow them up, burn them, and just kill them. Some of the bosses are Revolver Ocelot, Vulcan Raven, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, Decoy Octopus, and the boss Liquid Snake.
If you ask me you should really try out all the Metal Gear Solid games...
