metal gear solid really pushes game boy color to the limit with graphics that are awsome for gameboy color. this game has one of the best plot lines in any game i have played for any system. in metal gear solid you take control of a bunch of solid snakes (the main character) stealth moves such as sneaking along walls and luring anemys to you then beating them to death.as soon as you start the game its like its glood to your hand and you just cant shut it off.but this game can get a little confusing but doent worry that doesnt happen often.metal gear solid is also ment for older gamers of around the age of 8. this is a must by game for older more advanced gamers.

i havent beaten the game yet b/c its really hard. the graphics are great and its everything you want except no neck breaking. that hurt me but i moved on. it is a great game and it even had vr training and a new thing that let you go back to any part of the game you want because the game is divided into stages. al you do is goto the stage select icon. its a great game i would buy it.
One of the best game boy color games.

When I first picked up this game, I thought it would would have half the fun of the playstation game. Oh was I wrong. This game has a very challenging 13 mission story mode. If you get tired of story mode, you can play one of 200 VR training missions. These missions also can be very hard to complete sometimes. This game has a story that could draw almost anyone in. To sum everything up, I would say that this game has a great story mode, a excellent training mode, and one of the best V.S. modes ever on a game boy color game. I strongly suggest this game to you. Also I enjoyed Perfect Dark for the game boy color. It was almost like this game (great story, V.S., and hard training) except it had the rumble feature which rumbles when you get shot. All in all this is one of the best game boy color games of all!

This game is simply the best game I've played for the GBC. The gameplay from the PS has been retained, as well as the original stoy line (sorta). Your main goal in this game is to is to single handedly take out the nucular machine "Metal Gear". There is one small drawback, but not anough to bring it down a star, and that would be the incredibly long, text-heavy cinemas. Also there is one more thing, Snake's cigrettes are now "Foggers". Other then that this game is great!

Contrary to other reviews, this game is not a port of the Playstation game of the same name. In Japan this game was titled Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. It is an all NEW adventure! The game plays like it's big brother on Playstation -sneaking, base infiltration, etc. but the bad guys and surroundings and story are all new and help this game break from the mold of other less exciting Gameboy action games. Quite possibly the best use of color I've seen come from the Gameboy Color, this game continues to excite and will keep both vets and newbies to the Metal Gear series glued to their screens until the closing credits! This will be sure to quench the thirst of MG fans until Snake's next adventure on the Playstation 2...
An Instant Classic

I think this game will go down as a classic. The controls are tight and responsive, the graphics are spectacular (for the Gameboy, at any rate), the plot is involving (though not ass good as the PSX game of the same name) and so are the characters (They are cool, but none of them can hold a candle to Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven, Sniper Wolf, or Revolver Ocelot from the PSX version). Over all, it isn't as good as the playstation version, but in my opinion atleast, it's the best gameboy game out there. If you like action/adventure games, and you have a little patience, then BUY THIS GAME NOW

It's an excellent game with a similar plot to the Playstation version. I wish otocon was in the game though.

This game was a huge surprise. I expected it to be just another mediocre Game Boy port, but it has surpassed all expectations. If you like an adventure game with great characters, enemies, and storyline, then this is the game for you.
