great game

I am one to usually get bored of games and just stop playing them after a while but this one was great cause it just had me coming back for more. the puzzles in the game are just ones that u have to know on how to slove them. this is a great game.

the witty humor and playability of this game are refreshing.. i like all the monkey island games but this one tops the list so far.

Right, so this part aint like the other three, but that doesn't make it bad, does it? No! When trouble looms, the fool turns his back while the wise man faces it down. And, I can't say that Guybrush Threepwood's character is as good as usual. He's more...well, let's just say that he seems to be tired after honeymooning for the last three months, okay? As usual, you play the role of Guybrush Threepwood, a not-so-fearsome-pirate but wannabe-a-fearsome-pirate guy, just married to the Governor of Mêlée Island - Elaine Marley. After three months of honeymooning, they both return to the island where Otis - the convicted schitzofrenia, Carla - the swordmaster you beat in the first game, The SCUMM Bar and of course, Timmy the Monkey is - MÊLÈE ISLAND *dramatic silence*. What?? Okay, so it's not a cure for cancer, but it is something! Anyway *sigh*, something's rotten on Mêlée, and both you and your wife has been presumed (and declared) dead. The Governor's Mansion is to be torn down, an Australian landowner is buying up the whole Carribean, and on top of that (if it aint enough), the Dart Championship is closing up. Hehe, yep, you read it. And of course, the horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, bla bla bla *another dramatic silence* ULTIMATE INSULT! Y'know, since no one, not even in the game, can explain what the insult is (except that it is something that could turn a stinking pirate into a deranged mess in no time), I'm not even going to try. BUT, it is, none the less, your jobb to find out. Great, huh? On the way to unlocking it's mystery, you will meet various people (it'll be a surprise as a lot of old characters will be in the game) on the islands of the Carribean, like Jambalaya Island, Knuttin' Atoll and of course, Monkey Island itself, just as spooky and whacked as it always has been. The controls have been redefined in EfMO, and are just like in Grim Fandango (for those of you that has played that wonderful game!), that is that you move around with the arrows, activating and...ah, you'll figure it out. Well, it's a great game! Not as great as the other three parts (and not as "easy" either) but if you like Threepwood's adventures, do not hesitate - go buy this game! Good luck, you'll need it!!!!!!!!

this game is called the last hope for adventure gaming, and hopefully it will lead to a new era for gaming It's guybrush in 3d! meet some old characters and a lot of new ones stop an old man namedozzie mandrill from turning pirate heaven into tourist attraction, STOP HIM FROM USING THE ULTTIMATE INSULT, an insult that will stop any pirate from ever raising the sword again, meet charles.l.charles, or lechuck, visit planet threepwood, meet murray again, escape from mnkey island , insult arm wrestling, dynamic water.DO IT ALL IN WONDERFUL 3D. Look ma, no mouse(no mouse needed to play the game, sadly)a better version of grim engine used, 3d accelerator required,guybrush alone has 1500 polygons.

Be a monkey island fan, do the monkey dance, play the efmi...

If you are tired of all those "humane" adventure games buy this! I mean who couldn't like talking monkeys and drunken parrots?

I have been a fan of the Monkey Island series for the longest time, and I sincerely love all their games. But the latest is a big disappointment. B/c it requires a 3D card, I can't play it--it's awfully hard to install a 3D card on a laptop. I was really looking forward to playing the latest installment of Guybrush's adventures, and I'm crushed that I'm not able to. I fear that Lucasarts is going to alienate a large portion of their audience.

Playing the Sims in German is better than playing this game. Talk about convaluted. Save your money on this one. Art work and graphics are it's only savers.

Hasn't got the "magic" of Grim Fandango

I've got mixed feelings about this game. There isn't anything really WRONG about this game but during the whole game I found myself comparing this game with Grim Fandango ---> which I liked better. The graphics of MI4 are pretty good and the voice-acting is even superb but I didn't feel drawn into the game. It misses some kind of "adventure-magic" (people who've played Grim Fandango know what I mean and if you haven't played it go buy it!!!) This is I think the most important feature that an adventure should have and this one lacks it :(

Being a monkey island fan from the start, when i play any part of MI, i dont want to see Lawyers,Australian Landowner, Hostile takeover... etc. jokes in a pirate game. i think this part lost the carabian soul of the legendary Monkey Island,and one thing Guybrush is really annoying in this part, he is like a 8 years old kid,always wayning,
