I played this game as a japanese import. It is so awesome. The graphics are really cool. And the bosses are really cool looking. I liked this because I didn't need to get a playstation to play anymore Mega Man games. My Advice: Buy this game! Right Away! It is really amazing.
Good game!

First of all, this is a alternate plot to the original Mega Man games. Now Wily is just a boat store owner, and Roll takes the pace of Dr. Light as your weapon creater. This game is pretty easy if you know the ultimate move to defeat the bosses, circle them! It doesn't always work, but oh well. This game isn't really better than the Playstation version. The rumble feature only works when you get hit, and the "anolog" feature means they just made the joystick work. I still use the D-Pad since that is what the controls were originally made for. They also took out the way to become invincible, that PVC vest. The game is still pretty easy, though. The dumb thing is you have to beat the game in Hard mode to get Easy mode. All in all, the game is pretty good, but if you have a Playstation, I would get the Mega Man Legends.
The first and best Mega Man game for Nintendo 64

Mega Man 64 is a fully enhanced port of the original PlayStation hit, Mega Man Legends. The game still remains the same thing as its PSX counterpart. But unlike the it's PSX predecessor, Mega Man 64 has better and smoother graphics, tight controls, and non-stop 3D action. Mega Man 64 definently showed that it can improve over it's PSX cousin with the new enhancements, mostly thanks to the power of the Nintendo 64. Since there was no rumble feature on the PSX version, there is a rumble feature in this version. Everything about the game is excellent. The only thing that bothers me is the occasional framerate errors and glitches, weak voice acting, and flat looking buildings, floors, and walls. Even if this game came in the right place at the wrong time, Mega Man 64 is still worth the purchase to those who never played the PSX version. If you played the game already, you would easily beat the game without breaking a sweat and quickly return it to the store. If you haven't played the game, you'll enjoy playing this game hundreds and hundreds of times. I LOVE this game, and I suggest that all Mega Man fans who don't own a PlayStation should get this game. Now the two rival systems, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation, are now even. They both got the same title. Still, it should've came out 4 years ago. Even if this is just a port of a 4 year old PlayStation game, you'll still enjoy it anyway. And believe me, this game is not mimicing the PlayStation version. Improving the graphics and the gameplay is not mimicing. Anyway, if you wanted to play a better game for the Nintendo 64 with more action, stunning 3D graphics, and tight gameplay, Mega Man 64 is your game !
A couple of pros, a couple of cons...

Megaman, a name that brings back sweet memories. I loved the x series and in all games I have played bearing his title I have enjoyed. Megaman 64 fufills some expectations and leaves others out.
I expected a game that was like the others, battle enemies for their powers, face various foes and challenges and then battle it out with Sigma, Dr.Wily or a new nemesis. Megaman 64 incorparates the foes and challenges but the old nemesis's like Dr. Wily and Sigma are gone. Now a new enemy appears. The Bonne family. You don't acquire special abilities from defeating your oponents but rather find things and give them to Roll to build special parts for you.
The storyline also changed. Which technically is not a bad thing... Dr. Light is gone and now Megaman was abanonded as a child instead of being found in a capsule underground. MegaMan has a lot of origins doesn't he? :-) Zero is not present or any other people you knew in the X series or the original series except Roll. The additio of the Bonne family helps the game and storyline but as the editorial review states "The dialouges seem designed for 4-year olds" or at least very young gamers.
Gameplay is not THE BEST in the world but is easy to get used too and even fun after while (I'm talking about controls). The gameplay is kind of fast but the missions in the game are great and pose a very big challenge. So that is definetly a big pro for the game.
Lack of multiplayer was a hard fact to deal with. Banjo-tooie got a multiplayer, other games got a multiplayer but Megaman was sadly left out of the bunch. Imagine a great 4-player battle with Megaman, and the cast from the game? Ahhh.... would have been great...
In summary, this game is not the best and not the worst. It's a fun game. It earns 5 stars for being fun, challenging and a simply great game. Hey, every game has a bad side, but don't let that stop you from getting the great, addictive game. A definite buy for anyone.
The blue is back, with quite a stack, of challenges along the way, and the mission to save the day. It's gotta be Megaman 64! `:-)

what makes me love this game? the cool music. the fun bosses. the arm weapons. the upgrades to jump and speed and the mega buster. the minigames. but most of all, the hard enemies. super mario 64, banjo-kazooie, donkey kong 64, the normal enemies are stupid and easy to beat. the megaman enemies are smart and touph. this game is GREAT and you can get it cheap now it's so old. yay!
One of the best!

Megaman has been a hot title since before I was born {I think}. Even though I have only played a few of the games this one beats the rest! In my opinion it is just as good as any Zelda games. The only cons in this game is that it loses a bit of action during the middle of the game, but the game designers compensated for the loss of action by creating interesting little side quests that even I enjoy, and I am seriously picky! Anyway I wanted to say that this is a recommended game for old and young all over the world! If you can't buy it rent it now and experience the thrill of one of the greatest action games for the Nintindo 64!!!
Its Really Just Fun

ok, this game has 3 major cons:
-Awful graphics (drawn on shading)
-Hard to get used to controls
-Bit Short (not that bad)
At this point your probly saying "this game sucks," but its actualy great! i like games like pokémon and such where its like a full time job to keep up with the stratagys and you do alot of the rpg styal turn based attacks. if you are like me you will love this game almost purly for the contrast, once you get used to the controls this is a game you wont want to put down. its alot more strait out than alot of todays games but the geting items and turning them into great weapons is very fun. but it does have stratagy, you chose what to put in your buster and where to spend your money.. there are plenty of sidequests and great minigames =) you might want to rent it before you buy it though. for some people thats all you need
A Serious Disappointment

I was very disappointed with this game. The graphics are much poorer than other recent N64 titles (e.g., Majora's Mask, Banjo-Tooie), and the play control is the worst I have ever seen on the N64. Mega Man does not move smoothly: if you want to turn right or left, you have to come to a complete stop and swivel in place! And woe to anyone who tries to target by pressing Z and R at the same time and THEN pressing the B button to shoot! This may be a port of an older game, but Capcom should have taken time to update it instead of just coasting off the success of the Mega Man franchise.
The game, by the way, bears no resemblance to the old NES series. You will not encounter Drs. Light or Wily here. There is no Proto Man or dog Rush. And you certainly don't spend the game fighting other robots (e.g., Metal Man, Guts Man) in order to win their powers. This is a Mega Man game in name only. The plotline is different, and only marginally resembles the old series. And don't think you are getting a Zelda-style RPG either, as the review above suggests. Mega Man 64 is far inferior to either Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask.
There is a lot of wasted potential here. The worlds are large, and the story is interesting enough, but the execution is so feeble that it seriously hampers the gaming experience. If you are thinking about buying the game, I would definitely rent it first.
Be warned - this is NOT a Mega Man game

In recent years, Capcom attempted to bring their classic Mega Man franchise into the new millennium. They gave the series a complete makeover, in a number of ways, and thus, the Legends series was born. How does this, the first game in the Legends series, measure up? Read on and see.
PROS:
-IT'S A FULL 3D GAME. Many fans of the Mega Man series had long been awaiting such a game, and at long last they have one. Well, sort of.
-THERE ARE TONS OF WEAPONS AND ITEMS FOR YOU TO FIND AND USE. The island where the game takes place is filled with ruins which it will take a good deal of time to explore in their entirety.
-THE STORYLINE IS BETTER THAN SOME PEOPLE MAKE IT OUT TO BE. This is NOT really a Mega Man game, but the storyline the game has is an interesting one nonetheless.
CONS:
-THE BIGGEST CON IS THE MOST OBVIOUS ONE - IT ISN'T REALLY A MEGA MAN GAME! Capcom just used a Mega Man look for many of the characters so that they could sell more games. For shame, Capcom.
-THE GRAPHICS ARE HORRIBLE, EVEN FOR A FULL 3D GAME ORIGINALLY MADE FOR THE PLAYSTATION ONE. The characters look like they were made out of paper, and I don't mean that in a good way. The 2D Mega Man games on all other systems had graphics way better than these.
-THE CONTROLS SUCK. If you want to turn, you have to rotate the camera. This becomes extremely annoying in no time at all. There are also several other control faults.
-THE GAME LEAVES TOO MANY QUESTIONS UNANSWERED. If the series really IS somehow connected to the other Mega Man game series, the game fails to tell you how. Likewise, your character's origin is never explained.
OVERALL:
Overall this is a good game, but it wasn't really what I was hoping for. That's not to say you won't have any fun with it - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you find this game in the budget bin, pick it up. It may surprise you.
SWEAT GAME [Don't pass it by]

The only problem is your eyes hurt after you play it but it is hard to stop playing the game.SO GET IT! If you love RPG games and love action games this is the perfect game for you.
