This expansion pack by far out rates all other expansions for other rpg games by far! It upgrades the exp. cap to lv 40! and adds a new "Bhaal Spawn" War to tweek around with for many more hours of fun and challenge. This game is great and it will deffinitly keep me occupied until the next Bioware AD&D release, Neverwinter Nights! U should all buy this Expansion pack, It is definitly worth your money!

Even more addicting than BGII

I foolishly bought this game the day before I closed on my new house. I found myself taking frequent packing breaks and ended up packing my PC at the *very* last minute. The game looks great and follows very logically from BGII - on a mid-range homemade Athlon 750 with Voodoo3 PCI video and 128MB RAM I am able to play the game super-smooth in the (unsupported) 1024x768 mode. There are several options for importing your BGII characters or starting fresh; I went on from where I left off previously. The plot starts with a bang and hasn't let up so far. I pried myself away to take a "quick look" at the bonus Watcher's Keep dungeon, whiich is unrelated to the main plot, and it's kept me occupied for a while now. Some of the battles are a pain but they're enjoyable, and there are nice puzzles and dungeon design. Favorite moment so far: unknowingly entering a Wild Magic zone, casting a Breach, and having my mage summon a large pack of squirrels which proceeded to swarm underfoot and generally make a nuisance of themselves. No bugs yet. Good job!!

Throne of Bhaal

Throne of Bhaal was an excellent game. I enjoyed finishing up my romance with the three females, as well as the endings.

I was dissappointed with the lack of sidequests. All that was there was Watcher's Keep, and it's straight turkey after that.

Getting Sarevok was not a surprise for me. Sarevok was mentioned so much in BGII that it was inevitable he'd show up. The other NPC's unfortunately haven't changed much, only Nalia shows any change.

But otherwise, ToB was a superb game with a gripping storyline and powerful plot. Make a game with BG storylines and IWD spells and you've got it made.

Great End

You know, I spent so much time playing BG and BG II that apparently it became like... part of me. I was immersed in the great story line... granted at times the game play could lag, but over all the game was great... not graphically awesome, but in depth and intrigueing. The many paths open to the character made from great replay. I would recommend Baldurs Gate, Tails Of the Sword Coast, Baldurs Gate 2, and Throne of Bhaal to anyone.

the BG saga is over....*sniff*

Yes, I was sad to see it end; the fate of the Bhaalspawn finally decided. Devestated, actually. Throne of Bhaal does a good job of tying up all the loose ends, and has a firm story line. Indeed, almost too firm. Unlike the unlimited options Shadows of Amn offered, ToB is quite linear, and there are few sidequests. The new dungeon of Watcher's Keep is very well done (I wish I could have stayed in there *forever*). I was, however, somewhat annoyed that my map was restricted only to the area allowed in ToB, and I was not allowed to return to any of the places open to me in SoA. The romance dialogues were also a little cheesy, and I must confess, I didn't use the new abilities that your characters can acquire very often. Still, that's not much to complain about, and I definitely recommend this game!

WHEN cRPGs TOUCHED THE SKY...

This was the LONGEST the MOST FUN game I have ever played! And, mind you, I am not an easy customer (feel free to browse through my reviews, you will see what I mean...)

The original BG series was excellent in all of storyline, gameplay, music and stability. Now, nowadays, sequels usually mean a graphically-improved expansion (at best). BG2 is a rare exception of the sequel clearly SURPASSING the original. And in the case of such great original, this means a lot!

Words fail to describe the perfect harmony of brilliant ideas, interweaved story-lines and detailed coding that makes this game an unsurpassable classic! Do not let the slightly outdated graphics discourage you. They were cutting edge only some years ago - and you will be able to unleash their full potential even on mid-range PCs!

I have yet to meet anyone who has played it and not raved about it! Hard-core D&D funs will find the character building, fighting checks and balances and overall experience very close to the actual pen-&-paper games.
Casual computer gamers will notice none of the tedious stuff of other cRPGs as the gameplay runs smooth and beautifully.
You even have the choice to turn it into either a turn-based or an action game by tweaking the auto-pause options! I am telling you: this is how computers games should be!

You will let yourself get lost in the deep dungeons of the labyrinthic story; you will be laughing out loud to the humorous dialog; you will be surprised as to who is a double and triple-agent.
There is an evil beyond imagining unleashed and only you with your party can stand in its way.
Party members offer a multitude of unpredictable balancing points and diverging story-lines of their own: side quests, conflicts and love affairs enrich the story in so many original ways!

An unsurpassed classic!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
