It's too bad Konami never released an arcade-perfect version of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game on the SNES. Actually this one isn't a perfect translation either, as it's missing some digitized voices. A playable April wouldn't have hurt either, but at least she doesn't get kidnapped.
Anywho, although the title may be (sic) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time, that's only because there were three TMNT games previously released on the original Nintendo Entertainment System (not counting Tournament Fighters). This is actually the second game released in the arcades.
Now for the actual review. The game takes you through, uh, I dunno, 15-or-so levels of repetitive non-stop action (double entendre? you decide). As usual, you get to choose between Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael (sorry, Venus, you weren't here yet). The subtitle, Turtles in Time, comes into play when you almost defeat Shredder and then are hurled back through time to 100,000,000,000,000-or-so B.C., then forward to 15??, 18??, 20??, 2???, then back to 1993 where you fight Shredder for supposedly the last time. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Best game ever!!!!

I can't help all u people saying that this is a perfect translaion from second TMNT Arcade game from Konami! This is very, but not totally, different. Here is why ---

*The Arcade has no Technodrome as scene 4. You just skip right to Prehistoric Turtlesaurus after Sewer Surfin'. I hated this, The Technodrome is my favorite level.

*There is no Bepob, Rocksteady or Slash in the Arcade. And they made up some new characters.

*Plus there are a lot of other small differences.

Overall, its a good translation from the Arcade, and is the best game for SNES!

All of TMNT moves is awesome!!!!!!!!!

I think super shredder is the hardest boss of them all. On the other hand maybe phestoric turtlesaurus. Who knows they're both very hard. With super shredder it is impossible to hit him and phestoric turtlesaurus blocks almost every swing of your weapon with his sword. In fact what I think you really need is teamwork to hit him. The level of sewer surfin' is the worst level I've ever played in this game it was still a pretty good level. Phestoric turtlesaurs is my favorite boss of them all.

This game was great.

I loved the ARCADE version of TMNT, no TMNT game has come close to beating that. But that version only got released on the NES but didnt have the same graphics or action to make it as good as the arcade.

This version was also released as an ARCADE version, but it was probably better known for this SNES version. I hope these games get revived one day, I'd love to play new and improved version's of these classics.

You absolutely can't miss this game!

I played all the turtles games on the NES and I really enjoyed Turtles 2 the most. Then this comes out. At first I didn't think I'd like this because it was a number IV, and every fourth I've seen I haven't liked very much. (Except for Mega Man X4) This was the best Turtles game ever made. It had Time Travel, which I like in games now. (Which is why I just LOVE Chrono Trigger.) It had action, and some plot. I got so addicted to this game. My brother and I go through this on EVERY game mode in under an hour. We played it so much that we mastered it. It was a great game. While not better than Mega Man X, I couldn't have asked for more. 10 levels of sheer excitement.

The best game in the Turtles series

Turtles in Time was my absolute Favorite Team Action/Adventure game because it kicked serious ...! Hopefully, most of you have heard of them but if not, you play as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Leonardo, Donatello, Rafael and Michaelangelo. Your mission = stop the Shredder from conquering and destroying the world as you chase him through New York City to the sewers and through time (hense the title).

In this one, you start out in New York City where the Turtles live battling many of the series best enemies from Baxter the Fly to Krang to Slash the Evil Turtle, Bebop and Rocksteady and of course the Turtles enemy # 1, the Shredder.

I loved this game. Turtles in Time played exactly like the original TMNT the Arcade Game but with new and better and more challenging boards such as the Prehistoric board where you have to compete with Foot Soldiers running you down with Dinosaurs and the Night Riders board where you fight Krang on futuristic skate boards.

This was one of the last Turtles games but it was easily the best. I'd get this one even if you're not a fan of the Turtles, you'll still enjoy this one.

Great Game

I love this game I play it all thge time on my snes even though I have a ps2. I've been hoping for a ninja turtle game to come out for the ps2 as good as this one. But it has never happened. this game is really easy but it is also not boring after you beat it 30 times. It is almost as good as mega man soccer the greayes game ever created. you get to be any one of the turtles I always choose donatello. Take it from me if you can find this game don't pass it up, it is going to be worth a lot of money.

This Game Is Solid Fun

This is the best TMNT game.In this you travel through time and it is for 1 player or 2 player. It's really fun especially the sewer level and the neo night riders level! There is also a 2 player versus mode to see who's the tougher turtle. In fact, this is the probably the best beat em up on the SNES.It rivals Streets of Rage on the Genesis in fun!If you have a SNES than I advise that you get this game.
