As the original pack-in game for the Super Nintendo, this is a worthy successor to the Super Mario series! It expands the Super Mario universe without sacrificing the fun or addicting gameplay. In addition to improved graphics, Mario has new moves including the ability to throw turtles, fly, and ride around on a little green dinosaur named Yoshi (his first appearance in the video game!). The world itself is huge compared to previous Mario games, with a nice variety of settings including Haunted Houses. A battery backup lets you save up to four games. This game should be standard issue for all Super Nintendo owners.

...But if you don't have an SNES (and you should) get one and this is DEFINITELy one of the games you should get. This has a good amount of replay, there are a bunch of paths you can go through. Some of the levels are frustrating, especially the Star World levels. But if you beat all of it and get all the secrets, you'll change some things, but I won't say what. The music is what you would be used to if you have played Mario games before. Better Mario games have come out like Super Mario 64, but this game definitely comes second, then Yoshi's Island, then Super Mario 3 for the NES. This is worth the money, ...

The ultimate 2D, video game adventure has the Super Mario Brothers in Donut Land, traveling through strange forests, deserts, castles and underwater levels, all the while thinking of their goal to save Princess Toadstool from the evil King Bowser. This game, although poor in graphics for today's standards, is the most involving and fun game to play with friends or by yourself. The levels get you going, and when you find a key or discover there is some sort of special place you can visit, you get so excited. The characters are adorable, and
the music is great. After all these years, this video game is still my favourite...and Super Nintendo is the best system!

Hi. I'm Aaron. I played this game when I was very young. I will never forget how well the stages were made, the graphics (which beat the version on the GBA's graphics), and the story. My favorite character is Yoshi (or I call him Green-Yoshi). This version didn't let you play with Luigi though (but to be honest, Luigi is very hard to control in the version on the GBA). However, if you play 2 player, Mario and Luigi take turns doing levels. But, on the GBA, you can't play Super Mario World as a 2 player. You can play Mario Bros. battle, but not the actual game. Needless to say, this is a much better version of the game (probably because the GBA version is not quite the same as this version). But, enough about the differences between versions, lets talk about the actual game. When I fought the first boss (Igee), I was a little lost on how you get rid of him. First, I had to figure out how you get into the doors (which I had a little trouble figuring out in Yoshi's Island). This cheat is for Super Mario World. Make sure you are riding Yoshi. Enter a level you have already completed and go up to a berry above Yoshi's mouth. You need to have an item. Release the item by pressing SELECT, and have Yoshi jump and eat the berry and the item at the same time. The action will freeze (except for the coins and 1-UP totals). Collect 99 lives and press START and SELECT at the same time to exit. This cheat might work on the GBA. This next cheat is for the NES version of Yoshi's Island only. At the map screen, hold SELECT down and press X, X, Y, B, A. A top-secret menu appears, including 2-player games. That is a rap on my review.

This game is a lot of fun even though many levels are a bit easy. Yoshi rules and finding all of the secrets give it a new twist from SM3.
