Great classic fun on a classic system

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 2

With the myriad of titles now available for the next-generation systems, you'd think Super Marioworld would be one no one would buy. If you own an old SNES and don't have this title, you're missing out on one of the greatest titles ever produced in the system's hey-day! Playability, graphics, sound, it's all here, and even if you're not a Mario fan, give this game a spin and you won't be disappointed. Give this classic a try, and you'll find yourself humming the Mario theme well after the game is done.

...the greatest game I have ever played. There's nothing else to say. It is a necessity for any gamer to own this game. If you have not played this game, pick up a Super Nintendo and this cartridge. It'll only put you back about 30 bucks. IT'S WORTH IT.

Greatest Game EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually 17, I just didn't want to get an account and all.
I'm a child of the 90's and my first game console was in fact a Super Nintendo. Super Mario World came with it and I loved that game. I still do. I think that game was the greatest game ever!!!!!!! I played that game over and over. I don't have it now nor a Super Nintendo, but I'm planning on getting one in the future. It has around 90 levels, with MANY secret levels and secret worlds. The great thing is you can have 2 players! The graphics are great (for a Super Nintendo). And most of all it's VERY VERY VERY FUN!!! Their's many different kinds of levels to go through. The music is catchy and goes good with it all. And best of all you can save your progress in the game. I even beat the game (sort of) and beat Bowser at the end. My cousin actually helped me beat it. Plus he showed me how to get to the star road. Anyways, I think it's perfect for all people to play. If you have a Super Nintendo, I HIGHLY suggest you get this game. It's 100% worth it.

One of the greatest games ever made.

First of all let me say the game looks much better when you play it on a tv than a dinky little Game Boy Advance. The definitive version is this one. The music is amazing the controls incredible the challenges hard but never too frustrating. I think of it as Super Mario Bros 3 part 2 because the games are so similar they are like connected somehow. If you missed out on Super Nintendo(the best video game system of all time) when you were a kid,I advise you get your credit card and order an SNES plus this game pronto. You wont regret it.

Best game ever!

Even though it is over 15 years old, this game is still as awesome
as the day it came out. when i was little, i played this game all the time.

The game itself is jsut so complex for its time and its a huge
game. the graphics are very good, adn i love the music!

Luckily i still have my SNES and play this game non-stop.

No game will ever come close to this

Mario Lives on

Still to this very day, I love Mario! Super Mario must be the longest running video game series known and I can make it through some of them. But Super Mario World beats them all!!!

I can pass all the ghost houses and castles all right and find most of the shortcuts to the secret areas. But most of all, I can beat Bowser!!! Some of my other cousins who own the Super Nintendo can beat the game too, and they love playing it just as much as me. I'll be describing some of the game and give you my scoring for it.

Not only do you get to see Mario and Luigi in this game, you get to meet a cool character named Yoshi the dinosaur. He's very helpful because he can eat up lots of the enemies which can convert into coins, hold a shell to throw at any enemy near you, and he also comes in four different colors. My very favorite color Yoshi is the blue one because it can help Mario fly continuously across almost any area. That's the Yoshi I used to cheat through some of the game. This mostly helps when you have the cape.

There are 7 different levels:
1. Yoshi's Island
2. Donut Plains
3. Vanilla Dome
4. Sky Land (which has areas like Cheese Bridge, Butter Bridge, Cookie Mountain, and Soda Lake)
5. Forest of Illusion
6. Chocolate Island
7. Valley of Bowser

Each area has a castle you must pass in order to rescue each of Yoshi's friends. In each castle, there is a specific master you must battle. The masters are
1. Iggy Koopa
2. Martin Koopa Jr.
3. Lenny Koopa
4. Ludvig Von Koopa
5. Roy Koopa
6. Wendy Koopa
7. Larry Koopa

The final master, of course, is Bowser. The main plot of this game is to go to his castle and defeat him to rescue the beautiful Princess Toadstool.

Other fun stuff in this game includes a cool level called "Star World" and a Bonus Game where you can earn up to 8 extra lives. There's another level in this game that I couldn't conquer. It is called "Special" and I can only go as far as the second stage. I even managed to find the top secret area where you can get the mushrooms, flowers, capes, and Yoshis to help you through some of the areas.

Time now for the game's scores.

Graphics: 10

The reason for that is because the characters, enemies, and scenery are all really colorful. Every color of the rainbow can be seen throughout the game as you play. The tubes, blocks, lava, water, and everything else are excellently designed.

Music: 10

The tunes were really catchy and fun. In most of the areas where Mario can ride on Yoshi's back, you can hear drum sounds added to the melody as you go clearing the stages. The ghost house music is spooky all right and the music heard as you go through each castle and fortress is nice and mellow. As you enter the master's door, it gets dramatic. As you battle Bowser, that music is just as tough as Bowser himself. My favorite tune is the one you hear when you're in Star World.

Sound effects: 10

The dinging of collecting coins, boing of the spring when Mario bounces on it, and all the other sounds heard in the game are all memorable.

Lifespan: 10

A few other Nintendo gaming systems have that game too, but Super NES happens to be a particular favorite consoll to play it on. If this game goes on to X-Box, Gamecube, or Nintendo DS, I'm sure the graphics and sound will be even more state-of-the-art.

Game Play: 10

My record-breaking high score in Mario World is over 1 million points. I don't know about anyone who ever got 2 million or more points. You can play it all day and keep trying to find the secret exits.

Overall: 10

What the heck, let's give Super Mario World a perfect 10 overall! This is to be the #1 Nintendo game in the world. I grew up on playing Super Nintendo games, and this is my top favorite game of all. Now that I passed all the castles, especially Bowser's, it's time for me to pass this game along to future generations in my family. That way, I can share with them one of the oldest and most popular gaming systems of all time - Nintendo.

I've mastered Mario! Now who will be the next one to conquer this game? Let's see who's Mario enough.

This is my favorite Mario game!
