The game is easy, fast, fun, and hilarious! Every time someone wants to see the Xbox in action on my HiDef 60" Sony, this is the game I show them first.
Not only is this game graphically amazing, the game is easy to pick up which makes it great for "lite-play" opportunities with friends--no worries about needing to learn how to aim/run/look/duck/battle-cry simultaneously, the first time you play it.
I am NOT a hardcore gamer. I do own a lot of games, most of the current and past generation game machines, and about half of the available titles for XBox 360. Kameo is one of my favorites for the 360.

First things first, is Kameo for the younger gamers only? The answer is no. I have been playing games for years and enjoyed this game a lot. The story basically revolves you play as the title character trying to rescue you elements who you can change into to help with various parts of each quest and, rescuing your own family who have been imprisoned by the evil Troll leader Thorn.
With the power of the xbox 360 behind it the game shines through. The details are amazing and at times the sheer number of NPC's on screen is well into the hundreds, with no loss of quality.
The game itself isn't that difficult and it is very very forgiving. The only times you'll die will be if you mis judge a ledge or jump.
Boss battles are good fun and require the right combination of elements if they are to be defeated however you trusty sidekick the "wotnot book" is only a button press away and he will pretty much tell you what to do if you ever get stuck.
The game also features a co op mode for 2 players split-screen however, Rare are said to be updating for xbox live play. You can also play each of the levels to see if you can gain the impressive A rank and unlock some achievements of which, do add replay value.
This is a game that borrows much from the Zelda series however end up playing more like Starfox Adventures (by Rare again). I give the game 7/10 as it could have been a little deeper and more of a challenge but is still good fun for the short time you'll be playing through it.
Highly underrated 360 launch title

When the 360 came out, I was underwhelmed by the titles available. Somebody turned me off to this game, so I waited until it got cheaper. Surprisingly, this is the one launch title that actually LOOKS next gen. The textures are far better than anything on current gen consoles and most all of the environments are gorgeous. Others have already touched on the nature of the gameplay. I'll simply add that the puzzle encountered through the game are of just enough difficulty that you have to think a bit but not have to consult any outside sources. The game is a tad short- it should take about 10 hours to beat. However, those 10 hours are quality gameplay. I'll also mention the single best aspect of the game: the soundtrack. The score in this game is the third best game soundtrack I've ever heard (following Primal and Shadow of the Colossus).
Really, I just wanted to add my voice to the many here who gave Kameo a shot and realize that game is lot more fun than many others gave it credit for being. It has also gotten a lot cheaper, so there really isn't any excuse not to give it a try.
Fun for everyone

I gotta say that my XBox 360 library isn't very kid friendly. Quake and GRAW would probably give a kid nightmare. DOA4 is a little too revealing for a 30 year old. The others fall along the same lines but Kameo is something my niece and nephews can play that I found very entertaining too. It's Sonic/Mario/J&D kind of game where you run around collecting stuff, and bopping other stuff on the head but the gameplay is easy to use and it's a good game for killing a little time.
Next gen graphics with last gen gameplay...

Tedious boss battles, wonky camera controls, button mashing combat and an annoying "guide book" make this game a must miss. Kameo was slated for the original Xbox and it shows, the gameplay is stale and doesn't hold up. By time you hit the under water levels you'll find yourself fighting the controls and the camera more than anything else.
A next-generation game with old-school fun

This game was a surprise hit with me. I actually wasn't sold on the demo, which is available for download from the Xbox live marketplace. Because of personal preferrences I didn't really care for some aspects of the demo, but I did see potential for a good game. If you were turned off by the demo, as I was, I'm recommending you give it a second thought. This game has all the elements I like in a good adventure game: big, open environments, lots to explore, hidden items to find, characters to talk to, and plenty of variety. I would compare it to games like The Starfox Adventures (also by Rare), Super Mario Sunshine, and the Spyro the Dragon games on the Playstation 1.
This game definitely shows off some next-gen qualities. The graphics are stunning--things like fields of tall waving grass, rippling water like you've never seen in a game before, huge expanses of terrain, and sharp detailed textures everywhere. Another next-gen feature is the ability to fight literally hundreds of trolls as you cut through them on your horse. Throughout the game you will traverse across The Badlands in which a battle on the scale of something from The Lord of the Rings is raging. There's enough in this game to blow you away at times, though other parts may seem like nothing new. It all adds up to a very satisfying game experience.
You should buy this now.

This is an excellent game. Well worth the $20 or $25 it is going for right now. Graphics are great. Some of the people in it are a bit cartoony which distracts. But every once in awhile some of the visuals are stunning and you begin to appreciate the game a lot more.
Game play is great. You can morph in to a variety of "elemental warriors" with different powers and attacks. Each has a different use depending upon the situation in the game. There is also something like "bullet time" where you enter this super speed state and can destroy a bunch of bad guys before they can even blink.
The story is minimal, really. Something about saving her (yes, the central person is a girl) family from her sister who has captured them. In fact, the game seems to throw you right into the action with very little intro.
The one negative I see is some of the story is presented in a confusing manner... rather than just come out and say certain things you see pictures of events like a half connected slide show with no explanation. Also there are some quotations between events while new screens are loading. However the load time is so short you often can't get to the end of the quote. This is a bad and good thing, obviously. The bad is that they are intended to further the story and give hints. However I think I'd rather have fast load times.
Another is that some of the story / instructions are provided verbally with subtitles and others just with subtitles. This is proving a bit of a hindrance to my daughter who is five and doesn't read well.
What I'd pay: Full Price. This is a great game.

I'm an addict. Kameo is a great game and keeps you trying again because of so many locked bonus features. I'm a fan of the more arcade style games and this has the feel of that while being a whole next gen feature. Gameplay is great, the game can be challenging, cute, funny and did I say addicting. Rather than have side sets of mini-games, the mini-game like components are part of the game - something I prefer. It all fits together into a very dense, visually stunning, and extremely fun game. I'm 33, male, and probably not the target for the game but I really enjoy it and have been playing it almost exclusively for a couple weeks. Keep an open mind and you'll be pleased. I finished the game in about 13 hours but have kept playing to improve the score, grade, and find all of the hidden pieces. Lot's of fun.
Underrated (in my humble opinion)

I like this game because...
1. Graphically and atmospherically, this is as close as I've come to playing a Pixar film... (figuratively speaking; this game is not based on one).
2. Satisfying achievements and in-game unlockables... I'm not usually an obsessive-compulsive that needs to get every single summon in a Final Fantasy game or what-not, but this game kind of made me see why some people are like that.
3. Using all my creatures creatively to get high scores and to bring on the focus mode was a blast... On the one hand this is not a difficult game to beat. On the other it is quite challenging to get the scores you need for achievements and unlockables. It requires good use of most of your creatures. It's like the difference between playing Halo on Normal, which almost anyone can do, and playing it on Heroic and Legendary, which is deeper, requiring the player to know the capabilities of the different weapons and vehicles, to aim for the head, to stick plasma grenades, etc. Plasma pistol/battle rifle combo, anyone?
4. It is "delightful" and fun... Like LEGO Star Wars, another "kiddie" game I own. Except I don't see Kameo as a kiddie game, and I enjoyed it more than LEGO Star Wars.
As for some of the complaints I've seen, it seems as if they were just trying to beat the game, and didn't really feel it's depth. Like the fellow who said that the game's controls were "like walking on ice." There are some creatures who were like that, yes, so if tight control was needed I always changed to another, such as Big Blue or Kameo herself.
There are some games that you can simply play to beat; then there are games that are only fully enjoyable if you settle down and, well, fully enjoy them. This is one of the latter.
The adventure title people have been waiting for

Kameo: Elements of Power is the adventure game that I have been waiting for quite some time. The game itself is pretty easy and most people shouldn't have that much of a problem with it. Game takes a little getting used to, but after that it's pretty much straight forward.
Gameplay: Very fun to play, I don't think I've enjoyed an adventure game for quite some time.
Graphics: Very solid, although some areas could have used some work. Overall good.
Sound: Great sound and dialogue. Won't dissapoint.
Value: Pretty short game, but the online co-op makes up for it. This title should be bought by gamers that love Adventure games, though.
