I have been playing games like Tiberian Sun, RedAlert ect. But when I got RA2 I was dissopinted, I could kill my oppenents very quickly. This game makes me think westwood should get out of the field of RTS games, I played the game for a week and have not touched it since. That is the same for Yuri's revenge, I have no trouble killing 30 brutes then destroying my oppenent at all. They proboly made this games for little kids who were having to much trouble playing games like Tiberian Sun. So I suggest that you do not buy this game. It is a complete wast of money. If you want a good game Get Tiberian Sun. Or Shogun Total war.

Oh, good lord!

I wish i could give it less than 1 star, but thats the lowest that amazon.com will let me go. Don't listen to the oher reviews here, trust me. (...) If you're going to spend time playing a strategy game, at least do yourself a favor and play something GOOD (...)

Too many problems!!!

The actual game is ok, but it not worth the wait to play the game. Just to get to the main menu takes over 10 minutes, and then each mission takes anywhere from 5-20 minutes to load. Plus when you finally get to play, you are constantly kicked out the game to due "irregular internal errors." I know it's not my computer because I'm not the only one with these problems, and my computer exceeds all the requirments, and plays all other games great.
Westwoods website blames the problems on a cd burner or other cd drive. I followed all their suggestions to remedy the many problems, and the game does not work any better.

This game is just a waste of money, since all it will do is sit and load for 20 minutes and then get an error or lock up.

its ok not a bad game

not a bad game much like the previous command and conquer games.but very short, missions are not to difficult, game takes to long to load, not enough missions to play, plus you cannot switch and play as yuri against the allied and russians.overall compared to the previous command and conquer games, which i loved i would only give this a 2 possibly a 1.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

This is another brilliant masterpiece made by westwood producers but buy something more worthwhile. Yes it is pretty cool yuris revenge does have some new vehicles, maps, and single player campaigns. But I played yuris revenge once its basically the same thing as Red ALert 2 same grapics same gameplay. So after playing it once I just stuck to the regular RA2 and uninstalled yuris revenge. Kind of a boring expansion pack if you ask me. Waste of memory, waste of time, but worst of all waste of your money! Please take my heed of advice and go buy some tinkertoys or something. unless you have some money to burn!

Fun but needs work.

I bought this game and i was happy with it for a while but i got tired of it after a while.
1.The gameplay is fun but alot of the advantages lean towards Yuri's side i mean you cant send any kind of airforce in because they get blown to pieces by the gattling cannons. You cant send in any tanks or infantry because they get took over by there physic towers and the only thing you can send in are robotic tanks which are cheap but very littly armored. And the sea is as much as impossible to fight in yuri's boomer subs have two torpedos instead of one and can fire ballistic missiles from a safe distance. But the other houses capabilities arent all weak like the soviets war bunker building which is very useful against almost anything but can bee destroyed easliy.

2.Like youve heard in the past reviews the game is to short and to easy I didnt need any help whatsoever beating it, in RA2 I needed help on the last allied mission its pathetic i know but some of us are only human.

Now dont get me wrong i dont mind blowing [up] people or taking things over and using them against my enemies but they should at least be able to fight back or at least blow up some of my defenses Im a turtle and not the best at offense but the AI is horrible.

Good game for fun and kicks on a friday night but not for replay.

Red Alert 2 was better

I had really liked Red Alert 2 and thought this would be just as good. It has a lot of new units and features, but I expected more. It was worth buying, though. you can get a patch for it that fixes Red alert 2's non-obvious problems. But you can no loger make multiple Tanyas. It also has a lot of errors, but my computer does that with most games anyway.

So-So Add on.

I played this game already. The original Red Alert 2 was better since the campaigns were much longer. I was also suprised there was not a Yuri campaign. You are only able to play Yuri in multiplayer or skirmish. I would expect expansions to be more difficult. The only reason I gave it three stars was because the story behind Yuri's Revenge was very Humorous. In other words how Yuri ends up at the end of each campaign. Some new units were interesting as well. I took off 2 stars since it was easy even on difficulty of high. It took me only 3 days to complete all the single player missions.

Yuri's Revenge almost seems pointless...

Well I am finally back to review the Add On pack for Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge. Yuri's Revenge almost seems pointless because the AI in the game is still the same it seems, all the back to the Original Command and Conquer. The multiplayer aspect of the game is a HUGE PLUS. But let's talk about different aspect of Yuri's Revenge Single Player.

The GAME - The storyline is very odd and weirder now that Red Alert:Yuri's Revenge is messing with Time Travel. Yuri has taken over the world with his Psychic Dominators and now it is up to you (Allies or Soviets) to go back in time and foil his plans. There are two Jurassic Park like scences which really play out funny. Ray Wise has made another appearance in this movie which really goes to show you how well his acting career is doing (LOL). Pretty simple rules apply here, Destroy Yuri and stop his Psychic Dominators. One of the battles will even take you to the Moon to fight Yuri!

The GRAPHICS are what to be expected from a RTS. Not anything really special to look at but your standard 2D explosions and firefights. But I still love how much Command and Conquer has come from the first game and its Pixalated units.

The GAMEPLAY is very nice with many new features and weapons. It is now even easier to get veteran units than before and I don't know what I would do without the ability to Garrison buildings. The Battle Fortress is a very awsome unit next to the Tank Killers and the Soviets still rule with the APOC tanks.

GAMEPLAY BALANCE - Man don't start me on this again because I could go on for hours! I have seen better AI in Quake 2 and even Star Trek Armada. And again you only have to build a certain unit to pretty much destroy the computer. On the Allies side its all about building Prism Tanks. Amass about 20 of these units and you can destroy any base. On the Soviet side all you have to build is about 15 APOC tanks and you can overwhelm any base. Playing around with different stratagies is fun, but sooner or later you are ready to whip the tar out of the computer and complete the mission.

Overall, I found this game to be enjoyable and a worthy add on to Red Alert. With different Units and three different sides to play in Multiplayer it makes to be quite spectacular. Yuri on the other hand was a complete ... His taunting in the game was pretty annoying and it really seems he could not even Mind Control himself a Pizza. But it was still enjoyable. I wonder what new Command and Conquer will come next after Renegade.

The game play is great, however, the missions take to long

The game play is great, however, the missions take to long to load up. I have a high end pIII with 384 mgs of ram and when I play RA2 the games come up in about 7-12 seconds of loading. once I added the expansion pack just to get to the main menu takes 7 minutes and the intro movie doesn't even play unless you go to the menu to play it. I like the game when I start it up it takes an average of 15-20 minutes total before I'm actually playing. I don't know what is wrong with it as I have plenty of system resources. Multiplayer doesn't work because of the long load times. one or two of the single player missions I actually finished in less time than it took to load them. Once the mission is loaded the gameplay is great but I shouldn't have to
do something else while waiting for it to load up before I can play.

I just finished the game it is great I found a fix for the slow load problem so I thought I would add it here to help others.
if you have multiple cd drives on your system then you must for some reason have a cd in each drive so it will only load up the expansion pack westwood says that it should be one of the RA2 disks, however, any cd even a blank one will work fine.

I'd give the game a 5 but before I found that workaround it took me way too long to play the allied side.
