This game is hardly as good as its counterparts Tenchu 1 and 2. The camera angles are terrible. I've played the demo and this games graphics are as bad as on PS1. The fighting is hard and you are terrible outmatched against a boss. the only way to kill a guy are stealth kills but if you get found out and you against regular guys you will get your but kicked making you a relatively weak fighter. Definately don't buy this or even rent it. its a waster of time and money.

This Game tops all other previous Tenchu games. They have drastically improved the environmental factors in the game. The use of shadows is a great improvement as well. The AI is much better than in the past, and the bosses are challenging. This version of Tenchu forces you to be crafty and strategic. If you just run wildly, killing enemies with no discretion, you wont get very far. This game is for the patient and maticulous person. No game anywhere showcases the abilities of the Ninja like this one. If you like stealth attack games, you will love it. It is a must have to all ninja fans.

I have played both of the previous Tenchu games and this one is by far the best. It takes a while to get used to the controls but once you do it's really great.

I have played both of the previous Tenchu games and this one is by far the best. Great gameplay and graphics.

It tries to be good but in the end it just can't do it

Tenchu 1 and 2 are among my favorite games of all time. The strategy involved in sneaking around is great. I really enjoyed the first two but tenchu 3 just doesn't stand out like the other two did. Now let me be honest, this isn't a bad game. It just didn't do what a sequel should do. A sequel should bring large additions to the game but at the same time it should address issues that needed to be fixed from the past versions. This game does have some additions. It has a new story line and a multiplayer mode but they took away the level designer. They also have done nothing about the camera angles. I actually think that the camera angles were better in the first 2. The enviornments are very close quarters but the camera is horrid. When trying to sneak around a corner you'll have to manually move the camera and then it tends to jump from a view behind your guy to a view that is too far beside your guy. So you only get the view that you want for a split second. It can be very frustrating. Also some of the levels are very linear. I would recommend renting this game before you buy. The hard core stealth fans may enjoy this game if they can get past the horrid camera angles.

This is the BEST GAME EVER... Well, maybe not best game ever, but its a really good game. It's way better than any of the other Tenchu games. The graphics, the sound, the gameplay, the controls, everything is much better than Tenchu 1 and Tenchu 2. And for all you people who think this game [is bad] because of what you experienced on the demo, you need to go out and buy/rent this game right now because the game is very much improved from the demo.

THE BEST GAME, PERIOD

Tenchu 3 Wrath of heaven is one of the coolist games i've ever played. The graphics are great and so is the gameplay and plot. It is EXTREAMLY gory though. If you either can't or don't want to see blood splatter every where and heads get chopped off, than this is NOT the game for you. The game play is challenging at times, and face-to-face battles are a little rough, but I don't know why people think that it has bad controls. All iin all, it will be a great experiance for gamers everywhere. I Deffinatly give it ***** in every catagorie.

I am a huge fan of the Tenchu series, and although this first PS2 outing certainly didn't disappoint, I felt it wasn't quite the step up it could have been, considering how good the first two were on the PS1.

First off, one of the coolest things they've added is the multiplayer option, which to me really adds a fun elemant to the game, and is enough to get me to overlook a few of the negative aspects of the game. You have six multiplayer areas you can do together, so it's not a full game, but it's quite a bit. You can also do dual stealth kills in here, which is kinda cool.

Secondly, the atmosphere and feel of the game is what really shines, just like in the first two. The environments are incredible, and the stealthing around really gets your adrenaline going.

Now, about the combat engine. This is what I was hoping to see a bit more improved on, and while it does add a couple new aspects to the game, I felt it could have been a bit better. You now have the ability to grab people and throw them or do other things(head butts), which adds a nice componant to close-in fighting, and you can unlock 9 different moves during the coarse of the game by doing stealth kills. I haven't unlocked even half the new moves yet, but this does add another positive part to the combat.

Another thing that really adds serious replayability to the game is the fact that you can chose up to 3 different layouts for EACH level you do, which means your objectives are the same, but the level design is different, so that was a very good addition! I do have to note that you have to complete a level to unlock a second layout, and complete that to unlock the third layout. Not bad though.

I hope Activision continues with this series because it's very unique, but in this age of awesome combat/stealth games like MGS2:Sons of Liberty, they can't afford to skimp on the basics that really make for a solid game. With a few additions and tweaks, I think we could be in for a downright phenominal second addition for the PS2.

Best Stealth game out there!

This game is just awesome; any one who says otherwise doesn't know how to use the buttons on the controller. The fight system is a major improvement over the other two it leaves a far smaller window for attacking the enemy. This game is also easy enough for the casual gamer yet challenging enough for the more intense gamers.

I aseptically like versus mode on the multi-player game, although I really miss the mission builder form Tenchu 2. This game does lack story dialogue and is way darker (theme) than Tenchu 2.

This game is why I bought a PS2!

Like Splinter Cell or the Metal Gear series, buy this game

First off, this is a great stealth/action game. The amounts of features seem endless, from the two bonus levels, to the secret character. As with the original two games, getting Grand Master (or Master Assasain when playing as Tesshu) gets you secrets items ranging from Invisibility Spells, to Disguises, to Exploding Arrows, to the Bamboo Gun. Then there are the variety of missions, which each have three diffent layouts. You also can't forget the stealth kills. There's a not so surprising surprise that the game's beginning brings, Rikimaru survived his (assumed/supposed whatever you wanna call) death from the first game. Being a first time Tenchu player the beginning of Story mode fills in all of the blanks. Then there are the amazing multi-player modes. Co-op lets you play as any of the three characters, Rikimaru, Ayame, and Tesshu. In Death-Match, most if not all of the bosses and original playable characters are playable. The bosses are what a game's bosses should be like, challenging enough to need some thought, but not enough to make you sell your PS2( or should I say chuck-it). All in all, it's a stealth gamer's dream. A final note, parents don't let your eight-year-old get this game(like you did with GTA: Vice City). I mean do you really want your kid snapping guard's neck so violently that they are facing backward, or worse decapitating another one.
