First off, this is a great stealth/action game. The amounts of features seem endless, from the two bonus levels, to the secret character. As with the original two games, getting Grand Master (or Master Assasain when playing as Tesshu) gets you secrets items ranging from Invisibility Spells, to Disguises, to Exploding Arrows, to the Bamboo Gun. Then there are the variety of missions, which each have three diffent layouts. You also can't forget the stealth kills. There's a not so surprising surprise that the game's beginning brings, Rikimaru survived his (assumed/supposed whatever you wanna call) death from the first game. Being a first time Tenchu player the beginning of Story mode fills in all of the blanks. Then there are the amazing multi-player modes. Co-op lets you play as any of the three characters, Rikimaru, Ayame, and Tesshu. In Death-Match, most if not all of the bosses and original playable characters are playable. The bosses are what a game's bosses should be like, challenging enough to need some thought, but not enough to make you sell your PS2( or should I say chuck-it). All in all, it's a stealth gamer's dream. A final note, parents don't let your eight-year-old get this game(like you did with GTA: Vice City). I mean do you really want your kid snapping guard's neck so violently that they are facing backward, or worse decapitating another one.
same old same old only worse

This game is nothing more than a revamped version of the first two. However, the controls are even worse and the camera often leaves you facing some other direction than which you are seeing. You continually have to press L1 to readjust the camera. The levels are almost exactly the same as the previous games. Combat is flat out stupid and there is only one new feature that lets you gain new combo moves by piling up stealth kills. That's fine and dandy but the combo moves gained are combat inefficient. Waste of money, waste of time. Terrible.

This game is a good sequel to the Tenchu serie but I tought it would be better than the second one, IT ROCKS but there were some things that kept me unsatisfied.
Good things:
* Very cool graphics(At last the characters have fingers).
* The stealth system is MUCH better.
* Optional english and japanese languages.
* Cool versus mode.
* More and awesome combos, moves, items and techniques.
* The English voice acting is much better than the two previous Tenchu (in particular Ayame's voice).
* A very well made intro as the two previous Tenchu.
* The character desing is MORE cooler than the first one but not realistic as the second one.
* A very good story for a sequel.
* Contains one memorial music.
* Three character like in Tenchu 2.
Bad Things:
* The ninja CAN'T swim like in Tenchu 2.
* Stupid music at the missions.
* You can pick up the enemy's weapon like the bow and the spear wich is a stupid idea for a proffetional ninja.
* Rikimaru run like a jerk as he did in the first Tenchu.
* No realistics cinematics on the story mode like in Tenchu 2.
* You have to install another analog control to play the multiplayer mode.
* Bad control mode.
* Not many cinematics in the story mode like in Tenchu 2.
* You cannot put your weapon away like in Tenchu 2.
* Some bad guys are stupid like the new wooden robots.
* You can't get out of a mission by pressing start and select, now you have to wait until they kill you or pass the mission.
* Not so bloodiest as Tenchu 2.
* Bad and short endings.
P.S: I think that Tenchu 2 is the best Tenchu yet but this one... well... I could say that is better than Tenchu 1 because is an improved copy of the fist one.
Tenchu is the best ninja game ever, is even better than Ninja Gaiden and Shinobi because this game is more historical and not so 80's as those two games.

Those of you out there who have played and loved Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, yet were somewhat dissapointed with the prequel, Birth of the Assassin, will be overjoyed to hear that the third installment in the series, Wrath Of Heaven, improves dramatically upon both of the previous titles. The gameplay has reverted to that used in the original stealth masterpiece, however minute changes ensure that this game has an excellent replay value. The game also uses the setting of fuedal Japan giving it a historical feel.
The return of Rikimaru (the second coolest videogame character ever) and the addition of new moves awarded after a certain number of stealth kills, sets this game apart from its predecessors despite its basic and somewhat familiar gameplay. Also the enemies display far more intelligence and the inconsistencies from the original games such as dissapearing foes have been completely abolished. All of this comes on top of improved graphics and jaw dropping stealth kill sequences.
In closing I would have to rate this as a top five personal choice of mine and recommend it as a must have for Tenchu enthusiasts of any age.

Well, Rikimaru and Ayame are back in the third and most impressive version of the Tenchu series. Although I enjoyed Tenchu 1, It became boring after beating the game several times.
But Tenchu 3 is very exciting. The gameplay and graphics are realistic and fluid. The characters have a greater ability to perform combo-attack moves. In fact, Ayame can perform quite a few acrobatic attacks. It will take a little practice to master the controller, but that's part of the fun. There are 27 missions and a wide variety of Bosses and Villians to test your Ninja skills. The guards in the first few missions are relatively easy to eliminate because of their perpetual movements. beware of the enemy Ninjas. if they spot you, they will put up a good fight.
For extra kicks, there is a multi-player option. You can play in the Co-op mode or play against another player, which I prefer.
This is a great way to test your skills and kick your friend's [rear]! However, if the guards spot the two of you fighting, they will quickly attack, causing a big brawl.
I rated The game a 4 because of the camera angles. It gets frustrating trying to sneak around corners and fumbling with the camera shots at times. But overall, Tenchu3 is a fantasic gaming adventure.
Exercise in frustration - dont even compare to Splinter Cell

I can't believe I fell for the "kinda like Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid"... no way. The only thing similar about this game to the other ones is the stealth factor. The camera panning is the worst I've seen in games it's sad.
Although the stealth kills make it fun, it ends there. The camera is so unruly that once you set it to where you want it, it automatically changes because it makes it more difficult to execute a kill if you can barely see your enemy. what sense does that make? I should be able to look wherever I want without switching to 1st person "VIEW mode" but not able to move the characters around.
The fighting sequence is annoying because you could be swinging at the enemy and if he sidesteps a few inches to your left or right, your character carries on its combo like there's an enemy in front of it. Shooting your shuriken or arrows? the indicator shows the enemy on target but when you throw it, you end up hitting the wall in front of you. It looks more like a bug to me than a design built into it.
Oh yeah, no checkpoints... you screw up, you start the stage over again. I am disappointed in this game as I can see it having the potential to be a great game but the controls and cameras are the worst I've seen in a long time.
If you're looking into stealth action games and don't own Splinter Cell, my biggest advice to you is save your [money] and get Splinter Cell instead of this game.
