I've been a big fan of Mario games since the original, and this fully lived up to expectations! In fact, it includes several subtle elements from the original Super Mario Bros. for us nostalgia freaks, but there's plenty of brand new stuff too. It follows the usual Mario pattern--survive through eight threatening worlds to save the princess--but the graphics and gameplay are refreshing and challenging. The mini-games are good fun too. The only downside is only being able to save your game after castles, it would be nice to be able to save it at any time throughout the game.
Great game!

Cool game with all those mini game within it. Very entertaining. Loves the Mario very much. My son loves the mini games too! (He is 3-1/2, and he can understand how to play those mini games, although not very good at it...)
Very Entertaining

Fun game, just a tad bit easier than I thought it would be. I didn't play it everyday and I beat it rather quickly, but the mini-games are very fun.
Way Cool

So, this is the first Mario game I've played since Super Mario Bros. 3 for NES. Yes, yes, I know, I'm old. I've just recently (in the past year) gotten back into the video game scene and have to do some catching up. Needless to say, when I got my DS a couple weeks back, I had to get Mario. I've been playing this for a couple days, have made it to the third world and have lost a lot of lives getting there. It's ok though. It is a very enjoyable game so I'll deal with taking 2 days to get through a world. It's as addictive as every other Mario game I've played.
Just like old times!

This is great fun! It totally takes me right back to the old days, laying out of work and playing Mario on the SNES for days at a time. There are small differences but they seem to be improvements. I bought it for my son and I keep stealing, um, I mean borrowing it from him.
Outstanding!

I've been a video game freak probably since I was six years old. Naturally, I've played just about every Mario platformer game out there to completion, many times. I had just finished replaying Super Mario World for the SNES when a friend of mine asked me why I didn't go out and get a DS, and this game. I shrugged, and I said I'd give it a shot next time I had some money to spend.
Am I ever glad I did. In a day and age where Mario had been brought from the 2D to the 3D, this 2D game is one incredibly fun game from start to finish. Even though it's 2D, it looks simply amazing. The controls are smooth, the gameplay is flawless, the sounds and music are superb. I can recall off-hand a few levels that I thought were monstrous pains in the behind, but that's part and parcel of every Mario game. All in all, the difficulty level scaled perfectly. I beat the game in all of a few hours, not counting the coin-hunting and secret-level trolling. My wife, who is definitely not a gamer, then turned around, stole the DS, and started playing. About a week later, she hands it back to me and says nothing more than, "I'm done." I took a look at her saved game - She'd beaten every level, including the secret ones, and found every coin. That means one thing - This is a game for just about everyone.
Excellent!

I'm 40 and consider myself an old gamer, from back in the early days of Mario Brothers. This game is great. Lots of things to do, the graphics are great and the ability to get around is challenging. Love it.
Great Game

When i got this game i already knew it was gonna be awesome. All Super Mario Games are awesome. The Graphics are great, the sound is great, pretty much it all is great.
The only downside is that this game is pretty easy and pretty short.I finished it in about 6 hours of playing it.But once your done with the game there are still other things to do.For example, each level you can find 3 star points(There are places you can go to that cost 5 star pints to enter).Well once you finish the game you can get all the star points. And considering that 2 out of the 8 levels are secret levels youll keep yourself busy figuring out how to get them.
Awsome
