I am from Japan and have the Japanese version, but there should be no difference. I bought this game half-expecting Nintendo to have added/changed the way Mario games are, but I was completely wrong. Everything from the classics are in this game--from the enemies to the moves to Bowser. The graphics were pleasantly surprising, as I was expecting a full-2D game. Some parts are drawn in 3D, such as the sprites for the characters and the map. The music is great as well, it kind of reminded me of "Super Mario Land 2: The Six Gold Coins" for the Gameboy.
Of course, some new elements have been introduced. The "wall kick" move originally from Mario 64 is new, and the physics are much more realistic than previous Mario side-scrollers. There's Giant Mario and Tiny Mario, and of course Fire Mario. One complaint might be that there is no flying Mario in the game but that's a very minor one.
If you have a DS there is no reason not to get this. This is Super Mario Bros., the same jump-and-stomp action the Italian plumber-turned-superhero has been giving us for the last 20 years.

I got this game from my husband as a Christmas gift and here it is late January and I've barely put it down! My kids fight for their chance to play, too! As usual, there are plenty of secret exits, special moves and all the other things we've come to love in Mario games. I highly recommend this game for everyone!

This game is definitely by far one of the best mario games I've ever seen. It has all kinds of kool new features that keep it alive, like mario growing huge and destroying everything in his path. Would definitely recommend this title to Anyone!

He put it in right away and was thrilled.

I bought this game for my 16-year old son for Christmas and he was thrilled with it!! He has played it a lot since Christmas and comments on how much fun it is to play almost every time he plays. I would highly recommend this game.

This is New super mario bros. game that has 8 levels and I found to be very fun. My 3 year old son as played it and loves it as well. It is a Mario game what more need to be said. If you liked the old marios for nintendo.Try this. It has the same story line the princess gets taken and you have to save her. I have bought 3 of them 1 for me 1 for my son and 1 for this mother to play while at work. I do recommend this game.

Super Mario Bros is the best DS game in existence. Its tons of fun and has a great multiplayer. If you want a good Mario game buy it.

I used to be a big fan of the Mario games when the original Nintendo came out. I got this game recently after receiving the DS as a Christmas gift. I was very impressed with the graphics and the new additions to the original Mario game. This is a great addition to your Mario collection and if you are new to Mario, this is a great start.
