This is the latest James Bond game of the century. It is like the other old James Bond games.(Goldeneye,Tomorrow never dies, The world is not enough). It tells what else games bond is doing in the movie because it has some missions that are in the movie. But it also haves missions that are not in the movie. And also, instead of Pierce Brosnan as James Bond it is the original games bond,Sean Connery. So,if you liked the movie, you'd like this amazing transfer of a video game.
This could be better, but it's still a lot of fun

Here's a series of shooting and driving missions, loosely based on the early Bond joint "From Russia with Love."
So you get to be Connery's Bond, wearing a cool Saville Row suit and carrying a Walther and driving a stone cold Aston Martin.
Unfortunately, there are severe limitations with the game. You can't skip the cut-scenes; you can't save individual stages of a mission; and most crucially you don't get a lot of freedom of mobility within the virtual world -- you can't even JUMP unless you're in front of a prompt to do so.
But weird touches make this game surprisingly addictive.
You've got a wealth of weapons to choose from (shotguns, .44 Magnums, tricked-out watches and cuff-links and a serum gun that causes enemy victims to go all "28 Days Later" and attack other enemies). Having so many options means you can plan complex strategies within your attack.
Also, some of the challenges are laughably easy while others are ridiculously hard -- Tatiana may be a babe in the original movie but in the game, when you have to protect her in order to win and she keeps running in front of your shot (screaming "help me, James, help me!") she's the most annoying videogame sidekick this side of Lance Vance.
The two-player, head-to-head mode (while lacking AI capability) is also great -- that alone makes this game worth buying if you can get it for cheap. You can fight an opponent in Venice, in a hedge maze, in a huge subway station, in a factory and a couple of other locations. As with the single-player game, there's a wealth of weapons to fight with and it can get really amusing.
I wish "Russia" weren't quite so cumbersome, and I wish the soundtrack made better use of John Barry's score and the signature themesong, but despite the drawbacks, it's still a surprising amount of fun.
My name is Connery... Sean Connery!

Nothing against Pierce Brosnon, But there's too much of him in james bond already with the PS2, I'm glad to finally see a sean connery one! This game is pretty much like all the other james bond games, You shoot bad guys, Drive expensive cars, Fight bosses... And so on. Very challenging And fun! Might I say that the graphics were impressive, especially Sean Connery & Robert Shaw, They look so real it's almost scary! Take a journey with 007. If you got the guts to! (just kidding)

From Russia With Love is a great game, plain and simple. First off, the whole game is in third person, which I love. The weapons and gadgets available are very diverse. Plus, the variety of missions keeps the game from getting boring. For example, there are driving missions, boat missions, jetpack missions, and your regular run n' gun missions. The targeting system is dead on and really quite fun. Many people say that the game is too easy, but I disagree. Just play every mission on the 007 difficulty level and you'll be fine. Just the right mix of difficulty and diverse mix of missions makes for a great game. Plus the voice acting and cut scenes are great. I highly recommend this game.
not bad

i remember nightfire for PC being more fun, but this game's easily miles ahead of "everything or nothing" and "agent under fire." the graphics are far superior, there's stealth mode and attacks.. i just got bored of it quickly, because to me the game just felt "average." ok so there's a stealth mode.. but if you want stealth, why not play hitman or metal gear solid? the shooting control is pretty good, but i don't like how you have to hit another button to zoom in on the enemy. then there's circles around special spots to shoot the enemy on which is just plain weird. it's an average action/shooting game which is more than i can say for most bond games.

I've worn out the -X- button on my Logitech controller playing this game over and over.
If you're 30-40 something or are just a huge fan of the 1960's James Bond movies, this is your game. The 60's details are perfect - the clothing, the furniture, and most especially the old mainframe computers. The only thing missing from the computers are the 60's IBM logos!!!
Game play is excellent and is VERY VERY similar to the mechanics of the other recent Bond game titled 'Everything or Nothing'. Game play is watered down a bit to make it easier than Everything or Nothing. You'll get to drive the Aston Martin - A - LOT. There are several scenes where you'll be flying around in the old Jet Pack. The Train Station and the Soviet Factory are my absolute favorite levels and have the best retro scenes despite their having never appeared in the actual film. Original scenes from the movie have been adapted for the game, including a gunfight on the Orient Express and the Gypsy Camp sequence. The 'movie' has a new opening sequence that takes place prior to the Hedgemaze and it appears that the ending sequence story may have been inspired partly by the plot from the movie "Thunderball". There are some really 'nifty' 60's gadgets, including the "Q copter". No digital circuitry here; Everything is Analog!
Yes, there are a few silly things you may not like. While the final level is cool, the end 'boss' Grant appears in a silly contraption. The airport parking lot scene isn't worth saving the points up to unlock. The sniper on the balcony 'bonus' level is impossible to win - or at least I haven't figured out the right place to stand after playing for nearly a year. You can't skip the cut scenes. You can't play against the AI in the non-story mode; two player only.
But the rest of the game is outstanding. I do wish EA would continue a Classic Bond game series, but I doubt they will do so. Grab this one, it's probably one of a kind.
Fun, Fun, Fun.

This game blew away my expectations! i got for sale new, of eight bucks! that lead me to believe it was no good, but i was wrong.
its really fun and like the fact that its 3rd person compared to other james bong games. the weapons are great and you get an smg in the first level. you'll probably that same gun through out the whole game. i also like the fact that you have to figure out how to kill certain guys. (its not to hard to figure out.)
the problem is the shotgun. it has a range of about two feet. it is also dificult to use the bazooka and grenades. with most guns you hold L1 and it auto-targets the enemies. with the rocket launcher and grenades you have to position the specificly and that is hard to do in the spur of the moment with out getting shot up.
this game is also extremely fun in two player mode. i brought this game to camp and we played it for hours on end in tow player. all do is runa around and shoot eachother and when you die you just re-spawn and start over.
it also has this cool mode where you target the enemy (L1) and hit square. this alows you to directly aim where the bullet goes. it takes a while but its fun to shoot someone who doesnt know your there.
this game is awesome. i'd say its worth at least thirty bucks so go buy it!
This has been a pleasure to play

Most kids won't even think about this game, because it's based in the 60's. It is an interactive version of the film of the same name. The controls are challenging, but doable, even for the casual player. The voice acting is great. Connery doing a young Connery is a real treat. The music and the character renderings are superb. Get it while you can!
I will now try Brosnan's "Everything or Nothing". I hope TPTB will make a Roger Moore "Live and Let Die" GAME!
Fun, welcome angle on EA Bond series

The 007 gaming crowd is a tough one to please. It took EA a few stabs to please most fans, and they did so finely with Everything Or Nothing in 2004, still an excellent overall game. Then came the disappointing Rogue Agent, which was like a stopgap while they developed a new game (and perhaps waited to see whom EON Productions chose to be the new filmic Bond).
Now comes a game similar to EON, but with a new twist. This time it's based on the classic Bond movie (same title), expanded with more story, and featuring the original 007, Sean Connery. Being a good sport, Connery has lent his voice and likeness to the game, and while it's older, thicker, and more Scottish than ever (his voice, not his likeness) it's still the same actor, a move generally preferred by fans.
The overall look and feel of FRWL is very similar to EON, but with some differences. Bond looks great---a full walking, fighting, shooting Sean Connery. However, I agree with others who note that Bond does not run, and the shooting has changed a bit to favor a more jerky target system that gives you more points for hitting specific places on the body.
The game is too easy at first play. The EA Bond games have not been particularly difficult, but this time you really need to play on 00 Agent level (highest) to get a challenge. Otherwise, there are too many moments when bursting into a room with guns blazing will succeed. There are also far more power-ups (armor and ammo) on the boards. Since they bothered to include stealth movements and the incentive to do things quietly (points, etc), it's worth the challenge. The controls for inventory and gadgets are different and not as good as EON in terms of changing on the fly. There is no `Bond Mode', as in EON, where you could freeze time to analyze a situation for targets. It has been replaced by a manual aiming feature that you can toggle on and off when you feel like. Moreover, yes, the game is linear, but what EA shooter is not, ultimately? The environments look great, lots of detail---I just wish you could do more with it (open doors, blow things up, etc). Why do some games heavily favor interaction and give so much incentive to explore boards, while others lay out exactly what you need to do and make it too easy? Rewards for curiosity and exploration are always a good thing.
The guns are good, some weaker than the previous Bond entry, others improved. This is an interesting concept---a new engine similar to EON, with a classic, throwback setting to the game. It's not totally clear when the game is set---the 60s, today---but it doesn't really matter. No matter the era, Bond always has Q-Copter gadget-thingees and laser beam watches, great suits and a ridiculous car. Also included is that awesome jetpack from the movie, lots of fun. (No Q-Toupee, however). The overall third-person movement and behavior will be familiar for folks who played EON and the more recent Godfather game.
Finally, they've made death match available again. (EON featured a 2P cooperative mode with unique boards). It's also a third-player death match, something new to the series. Personally, I found Nightfire to have a solid death match, mainly because it had one of the best all-time death match weapons---the remote controlled video-screen rocket launcher that they need to bring back.
Overall, yes, you can nitpick all day. EON was better in some ways; FRWL is unique and even better in other ways. Suffice to say, if you liked EON, this is highly recommended. Especially now that it's so cheap, you won't have much to lose. As usual, there is incentive to replay boards after you've finish the story missions (and there are quite a few) in order to unlock certain features. It's another good Bond game; presumably, Daniel Craig will be appearing in the next outing.

This game really impressed me in terms of graphics, fun, challenges, and multiplayer. From Russia with love had a cool story line in which you flew in jetpacks, rode in cars and other vehicles. The one thing that I DIDN'T LIKE, though, was that you couldn't create and AI computer players, and you could only do 1 on 1. This greatly disturbs because, since the last game I had, Nightfire, had that feature, I was used to playing with AI.
But anyway, in multiplayer mode you can ride in jetpacks and cars. Overall this GAME WAS A HIT! BUY IT!
