Classic Bond is Back - Thanks to Sean Connery's Return!

If you are a fan of the "classic" Sean Connery Bond, this game is a MUST--even if you don't normally play video games. "From Russia with Love" puts you in the role of maneuvering Connery's Bond through many realistic and elaborate scenes. Sean is to be congratulated for lending his voice and likeness to this game. He actually adds new nuances to his famous characterization which makes it even more interesting in retrospect. I hope this is just his first in a series of classic Bond games. (EA: Are "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds are Forever" in the future?). The missions are loosely based on the original movie, but most of the missions contain additional new characters, weapons, gadgets, and plot elements. The player gets absorbed in the missions, which for me took numerous attempts to complete. There are three levels of difficulty that can be chosen to subdue foes before they subdue Bond. In "From Russia with Love," much of the game's fun derives from participating in the Classic Bond world. Buy It-You'll be glad you did!

Fun, Fun, Fun.

This game blew away my expectations! i got for sale new, of eight bucks! that lead me to believe it was no good, but i was wrong.

its really fun and like the fact that its 3rd person compared to other james bong games. the weapons are great and you get an smg in the first level. you'll probably that same gun through out the whole game. i also like the fact that you have to figure out how to kill certain guys. (its not to hard to figure out.)

the problem is the shotgun. it has a range of about two feet. it is also dificult to use the bazooka and grenades. with most guns you hold L1 and it auto-targets the enemies. with the rocket launcher and grenades you have to position the specificly and that is hard to do in the spur of the moment with out getting shot up.

this game is also extremely fun in two player mode. i brought this game to camp and we played it for hours on end in tow player. all do is runa around and shoot eachother and when you die you just re-spawn and start over.

it also has this cool mode where you target the enemy (L1) and hit square. this alows you to directly aim where the bullet goes. it takes a while but its fun to shoot someone who doesnt know your there.

this game is awesome. i'd say its worth at least thirty bucks so go buy it!

not bad

i remember nightfire for PC being more fun, but this game's easily miles ahead of "everything or nothing" and "agent under fire." the graphics are far superior, there's stealth mode and attacks.. i just got bored of it quickly, because to me the game just felt "average." ok so there's a stealth mode.. but if you want stealth, why not play hitman or metal gear solid? the shooting control is pretty good, but i don't like how you have to hit another button to zoom in on the enemy. then there's circles around special spots to shoot the enemy on which is just plain weird. it's an average action/shooting game which is more than i can say for most bond games.

Best Bond Game I've Ever Played

From Russia With Love is a great game, plain and simple. First off, the whole game is in third person, which I love. The weapons and gadgets available are very diverse. Plus, the variety of missions keeps the game from getting boring. For example, there are driving missions, boat missions, jetpack missions, and your regular run n' gun missions. The targeting system is dead on and really quite fun. Many people say that the game is too easy, but I disagree. Just play every mission on the 007 difficulty level and you'll be fine. Just the right mix of difficulty and diverse mix of missions makes for a great game. Plus the voice acting and cut scenes are great. I highly recommend this game.

"Bond....James Bond"

This is the latest James Bond game of the century. It is like the other old James Bond games.(Goldeneye,Tomorrow never dies, The world is not enough). It tells what else games bond is doing in the movie because it has some missions that are in the movie. But it also haves missions that are not in the movie. And also, instead of Pierce Brosnan as James Bond it is the original games bond,Sean Connery. So,if you liked the movie, you'd like this amazing transfer of a video game.

Very poor game. I don't care how cool Sean Connery is.

This Bond game is dumbed down A TON from Everything or Nothing. You can't do anything! What I liked about Everything or Nothing was the smoothness. By smoothness I mean you could run or walk. you could stand or crouch. you could climb a wall, draw your gun, take a perfect head shot, and land on the summit running! Everyone here is going crazy about how cool it is that Sean Connery is in the game. WHO CARES IF THE GAME SUCKS! This game forces you to use their control settings...I am one of those backward players who likes down to be down and up to be up. So EA has screwed over a huge percentage of the players by forcing the gun-aiming to be inverted. And what's more, bond doesn't run in this game. He has a hunched over jog, but that's it. Nothing about this game is user friendly, the levels are extremely linear, and there isn't anything about this game that remotely resembles "smooth". So for all you die hard Bond fans, go rent the classic movies, and buy 2 copies of Everything or Nothing!

Playing this game makes me want to watch the movie

Well, I'm only 13. The movie was filmed over 40 years ago. Playing this game gives me a good idea what I could expect from the 3.5-star movie. Take it from a kid who's played every James Bond game since GoldenEye, this game is great. I'll give you a breakdown of the game's contents and a brief explaination.

Graphics: 10. What else to say?
Weapons: 8.5. Good, but some aren't.
Gadgets: 10. Even old gadgets work good.
Gameplay: 9.5. Very good.
Sound: 10. Couldn't be better.
Voiceovers: 9.5. They got the first Bond back, Connery still sounds pretty good.
Multiplayer: 8. No AI Bots, dissapointing.
Driving mssions: 9. A little choppy. Not bad, though.
Music: 8. They got the original From Russia With Love theme. Nothing much else, though.
Overall: 9.5. A very good title.

Final thought: 5 words, 19 letters. Buy This Game Right NOW!

I loved MGS3 but i gotta question "Is 007 From Russia With Love anything like MGS3" i ask this because MGS3 was inspired by Jame Bond movies, the HALO jump, the theme tune "Snake Eater" was Bond-esque,some weapons and gadgets,Espionage and so on but i am wondering if this 007 FRWL is anything like Snake Eater in terms of story,EVA from MGS3 is like a Bond Girl, your command team are very Informal like the command team in James Bond films and games. But "From Russia With Love" the movie inspired MGS3 the most:the `60`s setting and things like that. Can any of you people do me a favor and write a review and respond if you have played both games PLEASE??

i don`t care if you spoil anything jusr write down any similarities between 007 FRWL and MGS3(Not things like you can shoot a gun, somethin like that please sommit reasonable)

I also hated 007 "Agent Under Fire" i liked "007 GoldenEye" though so will i still like it?

A hoot

OK, the gameplay is pretty average, very similar to other Bond-themed games, but I have to say, it's a total hoot playing as the original, true Bond, Sean Connery (I think whether you like Connery or Moore as Bond is actually a fairly valid IQ test...we won't even talk about the others who've been in the role)...acting out (in a sense) classic scenes from the film are quite a kick in a tail...

A great game

When I bought this game i figured it would be another 007 Bond game. This game was very good and better than i expected. They portray Russia and the classic 1960s and 70s James Bond. Some of the levels were a little bit too hard for me to pass even on the easy level. But, overall this is a must-buy for any Bond lover because it is classic James Bond not Pierce Brosman. Last, it is a good game seeing as how it was made over a 70s movie. Great game, must buy for action seekers.
