I you love all of the other Zelda games you'll love this one just as much. The different features of the DS system are strongly pushed in this game and have the player, blowing on the screen, screaming at it to advance and many other things.
The cartoony graphics are great in my opinion but some may still discount this title's overall experience because of the graphics but it's a DS game folks, not a console game and the graphics, story and gameplay all blend perfectly and as usual Nintendo doesn't let the Zelda fanboys down with this one.
Great Game, Perfect for the DS!

This is a great game! It stays true to the classic Zelda games, but was made to work extremely well with the DS. In fact, this game highlights some of the unique features of the DS touch pad and microphone.

FANTASTIC! Love the use of the stylus and the ability to store notes. Graphics and game play are superb and everything we have come to expect from Nintendo and Zelda. Recommend to all die-hard Zelda fans.

This installment of Zelda on the Nintendo DS impressed me thoroughly. The storyline was pretty interesting, but the game play was just so much fun I could not stop playing. With all the "tools" one picks up along the way, old areas can be revisited for parts to add to their collection of ship parts... or the ever tantalizing Heart container! Mini games can be located all around, and they make use of the stylus on the DS perfectly. This makes the game play last far longer than I would have ever expected from a cartridge hand held game. I would rate this as either the best or second best game play experience (not storyline) of the Zelda games I have played (since NES).
For all those looking for a reason to buy a Nintendo DS, THIS is the reason. GET THIS GAME!
AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I quickly fell in love with the game. it was my first zelda game although i had borrowed some before. it has great adventure action and puzzle (not the kind like tetris) but solving puzzles they are not too hard. the bosses are fun --it`s a little tricky in the start but it gets fun. although it`s all with a pen, you get used to it. all together it`s great for adventure action and puzzle.
Awesome

Am extremely impressed with the graphics, details and overall game. There is no comparison playing this game on a DS Nintendo as opposed to a gameboy. Have had hours and hours of playtime and enjoying every moment. Oh yes, I am over 55 years old.
I'm hooked!

I got this from my sister for Christmas and this is by far my favorite present. This is only the second Zelda game I've REALLY played (the first being Windwaker) and this is so much better than Windwaker, but it had all the things I loved from Windwaker. This game is not perfect, though, but loads of fun anyway.
Some of the features I enjoy:
--Stylus guided boomerang--get an open field and you can do all kinds of weird tricks with it. That and I've never had better aim with Link's boomerang as I have with this.
--The movement and swordplay is easy with the stylus.
--Sailing has become easier than it was in Windwaker. Instead of waiting a good ten minutes to get from one island to the next, all you have to do is plot a course on the map and sail along. Takes maybe two minutes to get from one island to the next. Plus, once you get a cannon, you've got something to do while sailing. There's usually an enemy on the longer trips and you can sit and shoot at it while the boat is chugging along.
--The puzzles are just fun.
--The map allows you to mark notes on them and then the map plus your notes are displayed on the top screen. Since I got lost a lot in RPGs, this was a BIG plus for me.
Cons:
--As another poster said, it's hard to roll Link. I can do it, but it's kind of hard.
--Movement, though fun, is a little difficult with the Stylus because you accidentally touch stuff that hurts Link: ex: I thought I had tapped the boomerang and was ready to throw it at a boss, but I ended up telling Link to run up and bump into the boss instead.
--Sailing still takes a good chunk of time.
Anyway, great game. Nice sequel to Windwaker. If they make a sequel to Phantom Hourglass, I would buy it in a heart container beat.

Upon first glance this game took me by surprise. I expected that since the controls are strictly down to the touch screen, for the most part, that the game would end up being hard to play and get used to. But actually, despite what you may think the controls are quite easy to learn. Unlike in other games, Link only has about 4 moves you would need to learn. Being able to draw on the map comes in handy a few times, especially those who tend to forget things fast. This game also makes great use of the DS features. Both touch screen and microphone are used and implemented in creative ways.
As far as the graphics go..I would say that these style graphics aren't really meant for the DS. When characters faces are close up, some of the pixels look a little weird, as though they may have been saved in a jpg format using Paint. Overall this is just about the games only flaw. It's very fun and very addicting. Highly recommended.
Another great and engaging Zelda game!

I loved this Zelda game, it has all the classic Zelda elements and uses the DS features better than any DS game that started on other platforms.
It was well thought out and exciting! My ONLY problem is that when we renter the Ocean Knig's Temple to go to a new set of dungeons, we must go through all the dungeons we already cleared! Thats the only reason I gave it four stars!
However, I loved it , and was excited to have another handheld Zelda game!
Great Game

Bought for my 12 year old son for Christmas. He loves the puzzles and the ease of use for combat and moving around. He also has fun with blowing out candles with his own breath and having the game recognize his voice.
I would recommend it highly.
