Amazing control of the battlefield and of your soldiers with a very realistic feel. If you have any doubt about whether or not to buy this game think no more, just go for it. It is a fantastic game and it won awards on IGN for Best strategy, use of sound, online game, and game of the year. In addition to that, Relic, the studio that produced it won the award for best developer due to Company of Heroes. Great game
Buy this now for $15!!

One of the best single player games Ive played to date. The graphics are impressive, especially when you zoom in on the models and terrain. Physics engine looks great - buildings, walls and everything else can be damaged by tanks and explosions. Audio quality is on the same level as well, weapon sounds and dialog really immerse you into the game. The gameplay is addictive and focuses on advancing and capturing enemy territory with lots of strategy involved. Highly recommended for any PC gamer, you can tell alot of thought and time was put into the game to make it near perfect. Game of the Year awards are well deserved.
Game starts out strong and then becomes stupid

Very cool graphics and all that.
However, it falls victim to the same thing EVERY single RTS I have ever seen does: the creators start making the game insanely difficult to the point of you either buy their Game Strategy Guide (cha-ching), find some cheat codes, or give up on the game.
*sigh* I had some high hopes but alas... typical RTS game.

I'm an RTS (Real Time Strategy) Fan at Heart and this was the second game I picked up (with Armies of Exigo) the other week. I must say this was a lot better then the fantasy driven AoE.
Company of Heroes only allows you to play as the Allies (America) in WW1 against the Nazi invasion.
The Gameplay is like Warcraft, but instead of fantasy beings, you get to control different types of combat units and place them in the field. Characters can enter buildings and create a defensive line by using the building as protection or set up bunkers, wire, stand bags, mines or tank traps to stop the enemy from invading your camp.
You are also given the chance to build medic stations, barracks, bases, tank bases and more to support your troops.
The main difference between WC and CoH is that CoH uses the `taking enemy territory' to add to resources, there are 3 types of outposts that you must capture for resources, which are Fuel, Munitions and Manpower. If you control most, you have more resources!
There are also very special moves you can use, by choosing your doctrine, you can release devastating orders to planes to drop bombs, order in special forces (Tiger tanks) and propaganda to scare the enemy and boost your troops.
There are no `Heroes' in this game like WC, instead you are just given orders. And you must carry them out.
I personally prefer the Multiplayer where you can personally become the Axis (Nazis) and get to use German soldiers. The Nazi's doctrines are better; they are more focused toward Terror and Aggressive Attacks. The best is the Firestorm and V1 Rockets. Which are brought in by planes and dropped on an area you select and devastate everything in its way.
In my personal opinion, Axis are the better to use in this game, they have better moves and combat abilities but the game itself focuses more on the Allies. Cos it's an American game I guess.
Amazing Game

I have played and beat this game and let me tell you it is amazing! The AI in this game is truly stunning. When you send men to go and fight, they automatically take cover. Graphics are jaw dropping, and there are never any of the same old battles. Characters will talk when they are clicked on or told to do something, and usually will get a rather amusing response to having them build sandbags, or mine fields. Skirmish matches are awsome. I love how you can do either victory point control or elimination. With all of that said and done, this game is awsome. Relic didnt get "Game of the Year" on this for nothing. Get it!

Im a huge fan of thq games. Also RTS is my favorite type of game(real time strategy). Ive played alot form command and conquer 1, through dawn of war(all of them). Im running Vista now with a new PC and was happy to see that there were no compatibility issues; i didnt even have to install the first patch. It ran right after installing perfectly fine. One thing I do suggest that you have a decently powerful pc, at least a 256MB graphics card, 2ghz processor, and 1gb of ram 2 is better.
Not only are the graphics unreal and the fighting fast and intense, the possibilities are endless via that everything is destructible. EX. Wall in your way no problem, take your 82nd airborne troops and have them throw a satchel charge at it, problem solved. One of my favorite things to do is to zoom in over the shoulder of one of my snipers as he takes down unfriendlies. The explosions are realistic, and the sound is also stunning, from gunfire to hearing one of your squads cursing at eachother as they run through a hail of gunfire,(dammit johnson i thought i f'in told you to tie your laces!) Plenty of cursing at the enemy too.
One of the great things about the game is in multiplayer; be it skirmish or online, the two sides are very different. For example the german pioneers are lb for lb stringer than the american combat engineers, although the amrican engineers can set demo on bridges and buildings to destroy them while the pioneers cant. Also the system of building while the americans can generally build all their buildings from the start, the germans have to research escalation at their hq to build some more advanced buildings. Also in veterancy the americans gain it by causing casulties to the enemy or by setting traps and etc., where as the germans have to research veterancy at their base.
One gripe is the realism on the tanks, the most powerful tank of ww2 was the tiger. Another powerful tank is the panther, and youll see american shermans going toe to toe with a panther, in realism definately wouldnt happen, alot of sherman tanks couldnt even penetrate the armour of a tiger and some panthers. Also sometimes when you order more than one vehicle unit to move sometimes they run into eachother, but other than that' great game.
Arguably one of the greatest PC games of All Time!
