This game has good grapics. Me and my sister laugh at Mega Man because hes a boy with a girls voice. There is not any voilance it. Mega man is also a robot. My sister is also in love with him when its just a game. The games controles are good too, when you get use to them. At the begining of the game you should see what boutons do what. When you are use to the controles, go out and blow up some evil robots.

The Playstation, and almost all post 16-bit consoles for that matter, have been seriously lacking in the side-scrolling game genre. Mega Man 8, however, brings us back to that strange technological world that started on the old NES.

Mega Man has to stop the nefarious Dr. Wily for taking over the world. Wily has, naturally, created eight new robots for Mega Man to battle with. They are Tengu Man, Grenade Man, Clown Man, Frost Man, Sword Man, Astro Man, Search Man, and Aqua Man.

The game mechanics are true to its predecessors, with few new additions. Mega Man can actually swim now, a la Mario. It also borrows the "money" concept from the Game Boy titles, allowing you to buy upgrades for the Blue Bomber. It is also divisioned into two parts, like the Game Boy titles. You fight the first four bosses, then the next four (identical to Mega Man 7).

The graphics are wonderfully cartoonish and animate fluidly. The bosses also demonstrate a lot of character and are generally fun to fight. The music is good, but no tracks really stick out in my mind.

I'd say that I only have two qualms about Mega Man 8. The anime sequences are well done, but the voice overs could have used work. There is a lot of yelling that gets irritating. Also, I think the final battle could have been a lot more exciting.

But, all in all, it's a very good game to add to your Playstation collection.

Mega Man 8 shows the tradition that Capcom has kept for the game and some new added bonuses. As there were in recent Mega Man games there are 8 enemy robots, special weapons, and nonstop fun. Some examples of the new stuff is the clashes between 16-bit animation and cartoon animation, upgrades that you can buy with bolts found throughout the stages, and more. Mega Man 8 is one of the best games I've played. If you like this game you'd also like Mega Man X4.

Mega Man 8 is one of the best games I have played. I may be biased because I like all "Mega man" games but this is one of the best. I think it is great for everyone because I play a lot of games and this is the best I have seen in a while. For all those other Mega Man lovers out there I also recommend Mega Man X4

I remember the last time I played this game was when I was 11 years old (that was a looong time ago!). It was the oldie but goodie Mega Man game. On my first attempt, I kept losing! but I still had fun. I'm not a freak, but I have a crush on him (that happened when I was 14 years old). Well moving on here, I think Mega Man 8 is the best game ever!!!! and it's one of those days when I feel like playing it. I don't care what my over-protected parents THINK! I just wanna gather up my money, and buy me a Mega Man game for my game boy!!!!!

I liked what one person said "there's NOT that much violence in it, just clean fun!" I totally agree with this kid. I'm glad there's ABSOLUTELY NO BLOOD OR GORE. I've seen the colorful graphics before, they're just plain vivid. My favorite thing I like about other Mega Man games (like the one another person quoted "Mega Man 2" for NES) is that you could shoot any bad guy that gets in your way ( I think that's what I did one time)
Above all I think I'd like to play it sometime when my parents aren't around. So anyway, I think I'd like to give it my best shot I'm veeeeery good at playing video games like this one.
I like the way how Mega Man's helmet is curved at the forehead best of all!!!!! he looks so brave-looking. there was this one time when my younger brother was playing Mega Man x on his SNES I looked at it for a second and thought it was cool. I liked the way he jumped, walked, ran, and fought the level bosses. I felt like butting in and giving it my best shot, when that could've been my only chance!!!!! Sometimes when I didn't play the game, I would get up at 7 a.m. and watch the cartoon, then afterward I would think about how to get the game for my old game boy with my brother's help behind my parent's backs.

In a close, I just wanna say this game is great! I didn't mention this, but I love action and adventure especially Mega Man 8. if you have playstation, I recommend this one.

Nostalgia alert! Calling all old-school fans!

I just love this game! It's good, clean, old-school fun! In all my 14 years of playing video games, this was a good departure from the fangdangled 3-D. I would have liked it if Mega Man Legends had a sequence where you would use Rush to chase after your spotter's car or Flutter after Proto Man hijacks it with Roll, Data, and even the old fart held hostage inside. It was nice to see Proto Man back again, in living color, and Dr. Wily too. If you are longing for some good, nostalgic fun, and if you'd rather fight eight robots and learn their powers rather than fight huge, rusty buckets of nuts and bolts called Reaverbots, then this game is for you! For all you old-schoolers and Mega Man veterans, this game is a must!

If your an older gamer or just someone who likes older game series you have probaly played Megaman (the original series not X,Legends,Zero,or Battle Network) I remember when I first got my NES when I was 5 and Megaman 2 I loved that game and still do so I saw Megaman 8 for playstaition decided I should check up on this series (I'm more of a Megaman X fan) from the opening movie which is shown in stunning anime to the ending credits this game is flawless the story begins with 2 strange robots fighting in the deep reaches of space when they injure each other so bad that they crash land into earth and Megaman heads to investigate when he gets there Dr. Wily (for you noobs Megaman's main enemy) is carrying off one of the robots which has very evil very powerful energy Wily is harnesting so Megaman helps the second robot and heads after Wily so the battle begins with your standard 4 bosses Clownman,Grenademan,Frostman, and Tenguman(my personal favorite) and after they are done your next four appear Swordman,Astroman,Searchman, and Aquaman(not to be confused with the DC comics hero) you Megaman veterans already know where this is going even though the game is standard Megaman format that same format is perfect and if it ain't broke don't fix it

Graphics wise the game rules its 2D but very good looking 2D the enemies and backgrounds are very detailed I could just stare at them all day but I won't but anyway you older gamers will admit this is a huge step up from NES and SNES(remember the old square shots that would pass off as bullets in the old games?) Megamans graphics Megas little pellet shots even look good his charge up shots have detail and just the basic movements of running jumping and sliding look pretty good

Sound hows the sound you ask? Great the music for each stage is good and even the voice acting in the cut scences is nicely matched also having the cut scences in anime was a great idea seeing Bass and Megaman duke it out in anime is really great to see it really makes the carnival level more fun when you have carnival music as your background all also when you're going through a labyrinth in Astromans stage the music really sets the mood for how strange the level is these are just some examples as all the music really does a good job of setting the mood for fun

Fun factor is what makes this game so great is that there are so many diverse challenges in levels and ways of getting around such as snowboarding, flying via the Rush Jet and even swinging on vines in a jungle so many robots to destroy so little time also there are added challenges like finding 40 bolts that Roll (once again for you noobs Megaman's sister) will make upgrades for Megaman with and its not as hard as some other Megaman installments so if you're rusty on the series or new to it this would be a good place to start basic Megaman formula still is around if you beat a boss you obtain his power example: if you beat Clownman you get his power the Thunder Claw even though I have beaten the game several times I still find myself playing it

The Bottom line here is that Megaman 8 is another perfect Megaman game that seems to just get better with every installment that needs to be in everyones Playstaition collection 10/10

By the way for those of you who agree with my review lets hope for Megaman 9 soon

Funny!

I love the voices of the bosses in mega man 8. Usually because they sound incredibly stupid. Like Grenade Man when he says I'm Grenade Man! The bosses always say I'm --- Man! The voice quality here is horrible another plus. If you want a good one listen to grenade man. Get to his boss room and listen to him say... "I'll punish you." or "Punish everyone hahaha." or wait untill he attacks and says FLASHBOMB! If you want a comedy game buy this one.

This is the way a Mega Man game should be like !

Every Mega Man title appears to have its own unique quality like the original Mega Man series, The Mega Man X series, and the Mega Man Legends series (Mega Man 64 was a great game even if it was an original port of Mega Man Legends, so don't say it's the worst Mega Man title, just because it's for the Nintendo 64) with rich, high-quality graphics, smooth animations, and addictive gameplay. Mega Man 8 came out perfect when it released on the PlayStation. The 2D graphics were flawless. The animated sprites look cool (Mega Man looks better than before) and the 2D animated worlds look great. The control and playabilty still resembles the old Mega Man series from the SNES. The voice acting is superb (Mega Man's voice matches his character, considering the fact that he looks like a little boy) except for that annoying tutor that tells you continously what to do (you know ! The one that tells you when to jump and when to slide under something). If only there was a code to shut that tutor up by shooting him down. You will see some familiar faces like Mega Man (no-duh ! He's the main character !), Bass (from Mega Man 7), Rush, Protoman, Dr. Light, and the main villain, Dr. Wily. And finally, Mega Man 8 has high-quality anime scenes that describes the story and plot of the game. Capcom is pretty good at doing anime scenes, but can't they make any Mega Man anime series based on all of the Mega Man games ? If only it we're possible. Bah ! Maybe in the future ! With superb, high-quality 2D graphics, cutting edge anime scenes, and breathtaking gameplay, fans of the series might want to waste their money on this game !

Note: There is an import Mega Man game for the Super Famicom (Japanese SNES) called Rockman & Forte (Mega Man & Bass), and it is exactly like Mega Man 8, except for the controls. They're a little slower than that of Mega Man 8's controls (Rockman, or should I say, Mega Man's buster doesn't have any speed. Three shots, then it stops for a second.). It's not really that great, unless you can get used to it.
