Better than the first!

This game is better than the first and is the second tittle of an amazing series. It now has faster speeds,more amazing loops,better graphics,another character(Tails),2 player vs. mode, and an amazing soundtrack. This is a must-have for Genesis owners and Sonic fans. There is no reason not to get this game! If you like other Sonic games, this is another great addition to add too you'r collection! (You can even conect the game to Sonic & Knuckles to play Knuckles in Sonic 2!)

The game was in good condition. Sometimes, the system turns off for no reason, don't know if it's because of the game or the system.

Of all the Sonic games,this is the one that will always be my favorite.While this one kept the elements of Sonic the Hedgehog,it also improved on it.Of course,it also introduced everyone's favorite flying fox,Miles Prower AKA Tails.The story is fun.Dr.Robotnik is kidnapping animals again,while on a search for the Chaos Emeralds so he can activate his ultimate weapon,the Death Egg!Sonic is on a quest to stop him,accompanied by his new friend Tails.The zones are BIG!My definate favorite is Metropolis Zone.The music is great,definately better than the first Sonic game.The best new addition is the Spin Dash.You should definately get this game for your Genesis!You will love it.

Sonic's glory may have disintegrated in the wake of his crappy 3D games the would follow in later years, but his Sega Genesis adventures are still among gaming's most classic memories. Aside from trying to stop Dr. Eggman, there isn't much story to be located in here. It's all about speed, running through obstacles and to defeat enemies in this surprisingly challenging game. The biggest flaw of the game is the camera. The camera sometimes can't seem to catch up to you when you run at incredibly fast speeds which unfortunately will cause some cheap deaths. Other than that this game is awesome, and is something any gamer should own because it's still a classic. If you own a Genesis you better have this game.

Here are condesne speed run static doctor robotnotic total boss endurane is 18 precent for the firt three fights the player had invulerability shield on for the first fight. Total boss damage resintance include metal sonic all the robontic robnotic and the laser cannon is about 86 percent more or less depending on what attack patterns you use if you know the weak spots when the proper time to attack is. For the final fight boss hit the robot on its button the jump and aim for the vchest and neck area for the second half do this correctly you should not take any damage even though he is swat and punching at you during the battle..

Super Soinc Speed!

Many people were suprised about the success of Soinc The Hedgehog in 1991. But later in '91 Nintendo unleashed it's Super Nintendo. In order to bring gamers back they made Sonic The Hedgehog 2. As you may know it brought back thousands of gamers, even more! STH2 is one the greastest Sonic games in the world! If you emjoyed the first game ( like me ) than get ready for this awsome sequel. 4.5 out of 5

Sonic 2 for Sega genesis is indeed a classic. A Game Boy Advance re-release would be great. I hope to see one that isn't as screwed up as the Sonic 1 GBA re-relase is. On Sonic 1 for GBA, the spin-dash move (As introduced in this game) can now be done and you can also save your progress. But what the GBA re-release on Sonic 1 doesn't tell you is that the game moves very slowly and sonic jumps higher and runs faster. If Sonic 2 does get a GBA re-release, I hope it doesn't go as slowly as Sonic 1 on GBA does. the only modifications that would be great for a Sonic 2 GBA re-release would be 1. Knuckles 2. Save 3. A flying Tails (as introduced in Sonic 3). Anyways, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is a classic game and I would love to see it re-released in more than just Plug N Play games

Sonic taken to another level!!

Though the first Sonic game for the Genesis will always be my favorite, this is a very close second. This time around, you have the spin-dash attack, making it easier to attack tougher enemies and you have a friend to help you; Miles "Tails" Prower. This game has more levels and better detailed graphics than the first and the best part of all; Super Sonic!! If you collect all of the chaos emeralds and get 50 rings and jump, you turn yellow, fast, and pretty much invincible!! The levels in this game are way trickier than in the first and Dr. Robotnik has meaner toys to fight you with. May the Force be with you (just some off-beat Star Wars stuff). Oh yeah, the levels and soundtrack are also better than that of the first game.

This also has a two player game where you compete as Sonic or Tails with someone else in racing through zones. This is good, but not as good as the single-player game.

This blows Final Fantasy out of the water!!

Ok, it's 2006 and I'm writing a review for a game that came out around 1991 or 1992. Anyway, I recently purchased a Genesis 2 system from a book store and I picked up my favortie Sonic game to go with it. This has got to be the best game ever for the Sega Genesis! I started playing this game on my PC with the Sega Smash Pack, went over to a friend's house and they had the real game for the Genesis! I loved all sonic games from that moment on! Well, time to stop remminissing (or however you spell that) and get to the point. This is the best Sonic game for the Genesis EVER!

Pros:
Cheap (Mine for about six dollars)
Crisp Graphics
Awesome Sound

Cons:
Fast Levels
Somewhat easy bosses
Shipping prices on Amazon

The Classic Game Most Sega Owners Have

This game is a classic, hands down. Like most other reviewers, I also recieved this game as an X-Mas gift. 'Sonic 2' came with the Sega Genesis pack(problably bought at Costco or something). I recall the excitement of opening the red wrapping paper and recieveing my prize(I was like 6 or so by the way). I didn't really know how to play this game then, I couldn't figure out how to go up the large hills in the 'Emerald Zone', or, the first round. The game is relatively easy to play, but gets harder and harder as you move on throughout the levels. All of my friends have beaten this, and sadly, I have not. I never really put the time into it now-a-days but I used to play this game for hours on end. The last level always gets me somehow, being one of the more complicated levels in the game(along with the level before this, trying to kill several of those red haired guys in bubble shields). In addition to the levels, theres also a ring-collecting race game you can play through jumping into the ring of stars the spot-markers produce. I could get many gems and jewels, but I have never gotten the final gem. You can also have the ease of selecting which character you'd like to play with if that rascal Tails is just getting in the way. You can choose to be Sonic alone or even Tails alone, or both. This game is a lot more funner and simpler then the first 'Sonic' game, and much simpler then 'Sonic and Knuckles' and I couldn't compare it to others as I haven't played them. Another interesting additive is that if you own the original 'Sonic and Knuckles' game, it has a converter on top of the cartridge so you can put your 'Sonic 2' in there and play 'Sonic 2' with Knuckles! I thought this was amazing, really hi-tech for Sega Genesis. I reccomend this game to parents, game lovers and kids alike, as its entertaining but not corny or cartoonish.
