Attention all game freaks! This game rules, seriously, it is awesome! Worth every cent! I could play this game all day, or even forever! Yes, the graphics [stink], but the greatness of the game TOTALLY makes up for the [poor] graphics. You get to drive around, steal cars, school buses, trucks, firetrucks, and if you are lucky, you will be able to steal police cars. You can also ramp bridges, totally insane! I dont understand why it is rated teen though, because if your kid knows good enough not to steal cars, then this game will not do any harm, its great!

Well let me get one thing clear right now. This is still a great game. It isn't awful and a completely ruined sequel like many are saying, far from it, but I will agree that it could have been better.
First of all let me explain what you do in this game. You are Tanner, an undercover cop who is tackling his second mission. Your job is to take down the Brazillian mafia by getting from point A to point B with disregard to cops, pedestrians, other cars, and most of all other criminals.
But that's not all there is to this game. Not only to get the standard getaway missions but you also chase criminals with them knowing and without them knowing, escaping from enemy compounds, and just about anything else you can do with a car.
While this all looks good and all you must remember that whenever a videogame comes out with any digit at the end people are expecting improvements. So does Driver 2 have them? You Bet!
This game comes with all the excitement of Driver but now with a storyline to pump out just a bit more of an adrenaline rush. The game also lets you steal any car you please. Can you say Grand Theft Auto? They're are also curved roads now and a bit more variety of cars on the street as to it's original which had about four different types of cars for every city. This is all fine and dandy but what made me push this title down a star? Read further.
With the release of the PS2 many developers have rushed their upcoming PSone titles in order to garuntee good profits. Infogrames is absolutely no different.
The levels sometimes are way to hard and constantly make you feel like you want to trash the game. Also in the first game anything and everything could be run over easily. This was great for developing shortcuts that the police were too careful to take. Though in this one there is hardly an area where you can easily drive through without a 99.9% chance of being hit by a tree that just popped out of nowhere. And the pedestrians will constantly dissapear or pull a matrix by walking through walls.
But even with all these hitches I still have fun playing survival. I still like being the undercover cop who doesn't care about his safety but only the safety of others. But most of all I still have fun.
best game ever

just the thought of a burn out button was crazy enuf in driver one. but to think a burn out button and being able to steel just about any car, truck, bus, or cop car is absolutly heaven. this game is very time consuming but well worth the time. a little hard but if you want easy there is always pokemon!!! for all you drivers out there this is the game of all games! and anyone who thinks differently should not even have the privledge of owning a play station. to the creaters of this game, hope to see a part three but just keep the theift and burn out. some more cars would be nice.

This game is sweet! One wrong move and you might go into a spining flip then skid to a stop. It rocks!
I've had more fun with paper.

To be quite frank, this has to be one of the worst games ever. The storyline is really complicated, but even if you had the patience to watch the movie clips time and time again it's boring. The graphics look like someone painted cardboard boxes to look like buildings and called it Chicago. Controls are okay, though cars seem to make tight turns when you want soft turns and soft turns when you want tight ones. Not to mention that when on foot, the only directions that the "driver" can go is forward and slowly backwards. So if the "bad guy" is getting away your only chance of catching him is to rotate until you see a car, go forward, position yourself right in the exact front of the door, press triangle and hope that the "bad guy" is as drunk as the "driver" is. Also, the cop's AI is worse than George Bush's ability to think. If you go any faster than 2 miles per hour, or drive one inch away from the left side, or do anything that a normal person would do, you're gonna have cops ramming into your car. But most important, this game is not fun. It's frustrating. After two hours of trying to beat a train to a car you'll bash your Playstation with your fists. Hey, it's more fun, right?
VERY DIFFICULT, HORRIBLE GRAPHICS

Driver 2 was a good game when it came out. However, now that Playstation 2 and Grand Theft Auto 3 have been released, there is literally no reason to bother with this game. The graphics look bad, even for PS1. The frame rate is choppy, and the missions are so ridiculous that you will find yourself doing them over and over again. There are many annoying glitches as well, like falling through the street for no reason (game over), and cops that smash your car over or through walls and buildings, trapping your vehicle in them. Also, the vehicles seem to drive VERY SLOWLY on the streets. pedestrians run from your car to avoid being hit, and if your car does hit them, they pass through the vehicle as if through thin air.
I will give some credit to this game-- the "take a ride" feature allows you to drive freely through very realistic renderings of Chicago, Havana, Las Vegas and Rio. The cops, however, will chase you for no reason and smash your car until it is destroyed-- that is unless you can outrun them.

Tanner's back for another thrashing in this breath takeing game. In this game tanner is caught in a international mob war. Like the first one you the driver and you have various missions to do. This game also has also brings new features such as curved roads and you can get out of the car and steal other peoples cars.
Thanks for takeing time to read my review hope it helpful to you.
